When ROSALÍA first posted casual studio photos with Oneohtrix Point Never in late 2018, the prospect of a collaboration from two of the most singular voices in contemporary music set the internet alight and received speculative editorial from the likes of FADER and Rolling Stone.

In the intervening time, the two Artists have each added considerably to their growing bodies of work with various notable projects. In 2021 alone, OPN has been a frequent collaborator with The Weeknd; as musical director for his Super Bowl Halftime Show and also performed with him at last week’s Brit Awards, “The Weeknd confirms what we always knew: Oneohtrix Point Never is a genius.” While her primary current focus has been on recording sessions to complete her own highly anticipated next album, Rosalia has seen two other collaborative singles released this year. The long awaited “Lo Vas a Olvidar” with Billie Eilish, received wide global acclaim and “La Noche de Anoche” with Bad Bunny set a record for the most-ever debut day Spotify streams for a Spanish language song, reached #1 on Billboard’s “Latin Airplay” chart, and was performed by the pair on Saturday Night live.

Today, OPN and ROSALÍA premiere a stunning reworking of OPN’s “Nothing’s Special.”

“Nothing’s Special” first appeared as the closing track on the highly acclaimed Magic Oneohtrix Point Never but is re-imagined here with the inimitable combination of ROSALÍA’s pristine vocal and OPN’s elegant arrangement.

The eponymous album Magic Oneohtrix Point Never was released on October 30, 2020 – an epic, drifting fantasia – that includes a vocal from executive producer The Weeknd on No Nightmares, as well as further contributions from Caroline Polachek on Long Road Home, Arca, Nate Boyce and Nolanberollin. New York-based filmmakers Josh and Benny Safdie directed a video for Magic standout Lost But Never Alone, a continuation of the collaboration between the Safdie brothers and OPN and following his celebrated scores for two of their iconic films Uncut Gems and Good Time, for which he received the Best Soundtrack Award at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

Today, Austin, Texas rapper Quin NFN releases the music video, shot by Dan2Thel, for his latest single “Having My Way.” The single and music video are available now via 10K Projects.

The first song Quin ever made was a remix of a track by Chicago’s teenage drill rapper Lil Mouse. The song earned him a local buzz in his neighborhood and Austin at large, as the city began to take notice of the then-15-year-old who was just beginning to make noise. His momentum only grew when he released the video for “Gametime Pt. 2,” a track that finds Quin at his most aggressive, and promoted the clip on the SayCheese platform. Quin stayed consistent while maneuvering the pitfalls of Austin’s small scene and, a year later, he shared a snippet of the song that would change his life. Within days, the video for “Talkin’ My Shit,” a bass-heavy dose of Quin’s charisma and swagger, went viral, and his promise to his mom became a guarantee.

After signing with Elliot Grange’s 10K Projects in 2019, Quin released his debut album 4NUN, with features from PnB Rock and NLE Choppa. The project, which has garnered over 115 million U.S. streams since its release, found Quin challenging himself to push his rowdy sound further. But his latest project QUINCHO, out March 27, is a full-on showcase of his impressive versatility. Though he makes sure to still deliver turn-up anthems, like the rambunctious single “Ok Cool,” Quin also leans into his melodic bag to deliver catchy tracks like “All Blue.”

Despite all his success, Quin still lives in Austin, where he can be near his mom and where he’s most comfortable. He wants to be an example of how to handle growing rap fame for those that come after him in Austin, something he had to learn largely on his own. “I don’t really feel like I had a chance to look back and reflect on everything yet,” he says. Given how quickly he blew up, Quin says he’s now focused on mastering his craft. “There’s still a whole lot of stuff I’m learning and trying to perfect,” he says. “But I get better every time I go to the studio.”

Over the past year, we’ve experienced unprecedented growth, said Betsy Grindlay, Director of Marketing and People Operations. As we continue to add new products and new retail and distribution centers, these promotions will help position us to meet customer demand by getting products on shelves quickly, providing a good customer experience online or through our customer experience center and delivering orders quickly, efficiently and without any hassles.

Richard Thomas has been promoted to Director of Operations at Speedway Motors. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio State University and two master’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He held various leadership roles in the Navy before joining the Speedway Motors team in 2018. As Director of Operations, Thomas will oversee Speedway Motors’ warehouse capabilities including Neb., Ariz. and W. VA., engineering teams and IT teams. He will oversee about 200 employees, so having a strong communicator really mattered to us. Thomas started in the compliance department paying attention to regulatory compliance including the California Air Resources Board (CARB). He has done an excellent job communicating those restrictions to our internal departments and customers, Grindlay added. With the growth we’ve see in the past year-and-a-half, I think he’s going to set us on a path to continue that into the future, helping make sure we give our customers the best experience possible. Andrew Boellstorff has been promoted to Director of Digital Product and Technology. Boellstorff holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and master’s from Wichita State University. Boellstorff has over 15 years of experience in various management and leadership roles. Prior to joining the Speedway Motors team in 2018, he held positions at GT Exhaust, EMIT Technologies, Nebraska Book Company, Inc. and Spreetail. Andrew has been integral in the structural improvement of our website, improving the experience and making online purchasing even easier for our customers, Grindlay said. In this new role, he’ll be overseeing all aspects of development and analytics in addition to continuing to ensure our customers have an industry-leading experience.

Brandon Bisch has been promoted to Director of Ecommerce. Bisch holds degrees from the University of Southern Indiana and Nebraska Wesleyan University. He joined the team at Speedway Motors in 2005 and has held various roles from customer care and quality to Marketplaces Manager. Most recently, Bisch served as the business unit manager of the Ecommerce team. Bisch has a thorough understanding of our customers’ journey due to his extensive experience at Speedway Motors, Grindlay added. This year, he and his teams have been a major factor for the unprecedented growth of the web business unit.

Kaitlin Mathison has been promoted to Director of Marketplaces. A graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Mathison joined the Speedway Motors team in 2015. Previously the business unit manager, Mathison lead the Marketplaces team to achieve incredible growth year-over-year. In her new role, she will take full responsibility and accountability for the entirety of Speedway Motors presence on eBay, Walmart and Amazon. Mathison brings an energetic diligence to this role. Every project she tackles, she hits the ground running. Grindlay said. Watching her take over our marketplaces business has been extraordinary. Rottet Studio Acquires Houston Headquarters

Houston architect and interior designer Lauren Rottet, closes on property for a new Houston headquarters, Rottet’s plan includes designs for new construction along with restoration of an historic building

Lauren Rottet, FAIA, FIIDA, internationally celebrated architect, designer and founding principal/president of Rottet Studio, has closed on two adjacent properties totaling 1.72 acre located in the Briar Hollow neighborhood, which encompasses a house by iconic Houston architect Howard Barnstone built in 1960. Noted for his modernist style, Barnstone’s clients included Houstonians John and Dominique de Menil, who funded the Rothko Chapel, which was also designed by Barnstone with Eugene Aubry and Philip Johnson.

Houston’s population has grown exponentially in the past decade, as noted in the recent 2020 census and Rottet’s investment in her hometown is no coincidence. During the pandemic she decided to take steps in the development of her own property and purchased these unique lots with plans to restore the Barnstone structure as well as build an adjacent office. “We don’t want our new building to look like we’re trying to match a mid-century modernist style,” says Rottet about her concept for the new build, adding, “We want it to be constructed of glass because the site is so beautiful.” The remodeling of the Barnstone-designed three-story house, which was modeled on Mies Van Der Rohe’s Farnsworth House, will include a space that will serve as a showroom and accommodate furniture and accessories from the Rottet Collection. The new building is being envisioned as a new iteration of a hybrid office and will also include space for Rottet Studios’ design team and administrative staff. While Rottet does not anticipate everyone coming into the office every single day, “We need a desk for everybody, as well as a parking space,” she states. Detailed plans for the property are pending. How have your fan received your recent release of “Lustful Desires”?

My supporters are extremely happy with the outcome of the single. They love it and can’t stop listening to it and have given me so many positive responses.

What are you most excited about concerning your first EP’s debut at the end of May?

I finally get to share all my hard work. I’m giving new energy and allowing people to see a small glimpse on what I’m capable of doing. I’m most excited to see my supporter’s responses, because I do this for them as much as for myself.

What was it like working with Killah B?

Killah B actually is the co-producer behind “Lustful Desires” and a few songs on my EP. It was challenging at first, but throughout the process the chemistry was there. He knows what he’s doing and I’m looking forward to creating more magic together.

Who is a dream music collaborator of yours?

The queen herself–Nicki Minaj, Pharrell, and I would love to tour with The Weeknd.

Where do you find songwriting inspiration?

My everyday life, my experience as a woman. Song writing is also a reflection of my day-to-day trials and how I overcome obstacles. It’s an extension of my true self.

What three words would you use to describe your Trap Pop music?

Turnt, Timeless, Translucent.

What is your favorite show your music has been featured on?

Grownish! I think that show is relatable to me and my peers.

Do you have any other exciting projects coming up in 2021?

I’ve been filming a movie, shows and a couple of live performances. I can’t say much at the moment, but just be prepared because I’m really excited.
