Electronic Group, Meduza, to Release Single as Audio-Visual Immersive Experience in Partnership with Playmodes Studio at Museum Fiasco in Las Vegas

Single Debut will be First Major Music Launch at a Contemporary Museum

Electronic music artists, Meduza, in collaboration with Playmodes Studio and Insomniac Records, will release an immersive song launch and experience as the first music launch in a contemporary museum at Museum Fiasco, located inside AREA15 at 3215 S. Rancho Dr. The award-wining trio will be on-site for the launch event starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, May 14.

The track, titled “Headrush,” will play in sync with a lightshow produced by Playmodes Studio, the group behind the concept and audiovisual contents of Museum Fiasco’s current Cluster exhibitions, “Kernel,” “Railwave” and “Stellar.” The “Headrush” experience will play from 10 p.m. – midnight from Friday, May 14 through Sunday, May 30. “The debut of this incredible track from Meduza will serve as the first time a single has been released in a contemporary art museum as part of its launch,” said Ryan Doherty, museum curator.

Grammy 2020 nominees for “Best Dance Music Recording,” for their 2019 release ‘Piece of your Heart’, Meduza has spent the last two years leading the charge in returning house music to daytime radio. Meduza is the “Most Listened to” Italian artist on Apple Music and Spotify in history and the fastest growing Italian artists on YouTube, with over one million subscribers. Their debut release, “Piece of Your Heart,” featuring Goodboys, has over two billion streams globally, reaching the top 10 charts in more than 20 countries. In late 2020, Meduza released their third single “Paradise,” featuring Dermot Kennedy, which has accumulated over 500 million streams. The track entered the “Global Top 50” playlist on Spotify and has remained there for 15 weeks straight.

“We’re thrilled to have Meduza and Playmodes collaborate to make music and art accessible and interchangeable at Museum Fiasco,” said Doherty. “The music interacting with the sound and light features creates an unforgettable experience, and we can’t wait to welcome the public to this unprecedented show.”

“As techno music lovers, we feel inspired by the rhythms and sounds of Meduza’s new song, “Headrush,” said Eloi Maduell and Santi Villanova, founders of Playmodes Studio. “It is visual and emotive music which will shine at its best with the perfect companion of light, and we’re passionate to premiere this new experience for the Museum Fiasco and AREA15 audience.”

Museum Fiasco is located on the mezzanine of AREA15, the new immersive art, event and entertainment district. Conceptualized and designed by Doherty, the 5,000-square-foot gallery showcases futuristic exhibits, audio-visual experiences and immersive mixed media in a space that fosters a sense of connectivity.

Jonathan Marc Stein Autumn/ Winter 2021 Virtual Show Debut Filming

Loftily positioned above a beautiful residence in Studio City, celebrity fashion designer Jonathan Marc Stein unveiled his newest Autumn/Winter 2021 clothing collection on April 29. 360 Magazine attended the event to view Stein’s dazzling designs and learn more about his involvement with his show’s partner, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Stein’s show emphasized themes of inclusivity, the power of women, and the importance of discussing mental health.

A fleet of stunning, picturesque models show cased Stein’ brilliant, swoon-worthy designs at his collection debut. Adorned in flow-y tulle, vegan leather accoutrements, shiny suede, shimmering fabrics, sequins, bows, and more, Stein’s designs are a visual masterpiece. His Autumn/Winter collection takes into consideration the moody palettes that are typical of end of the year fashion, fabulously donning his models in gem-toned hues such as carmine, cobalt, silver, and deep emerald-green. His dress designs mixed a variety of fabrics together, creating eye-catching designs that only Stein would have the genius to combine.

Stein’s show was refreshingly inclusive, and hosted models with a variety of body types and ethnicities. His constant focus on making his shows diverse serves as inspiration for the rest of the fashion industry. Not only Stein’s designs, but also his presentation of such, are carefully planned and executed with the utmost professionalism and forethought.

Taking in consideration of his platform’s reach and emphasizing the importance of discussing mental health and practicing healthful introspection, Stein decided to partner with the National Alliance on Mental Illness. (NAMI) NAMI’s current “You Are Not Alone” campaign broadcasts the same sentiments Loftily positioned above a beautiful residence in Studio City, celebrity fashion designer Jonathan Marc Stein unveiled his newest Autumn/Winter 2021 clothing collection on April 29. 360 Magazine attended the event to view Stein’s dazzling designs and lear spoke about: the importance of regularly checking in with yourself and those that you hold closest. NAMI provides advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness and is now one of the nation’s leading voices on mental health.

Celebrities such as Gretchen Rossi, Shannon Baker, and Megan Pormer also attended Stein’s show and commented on the importance of creating conversation surrounding mental health. Rossi commented, “I think it’s really important to talk to people if you really are struggling, or if you’re going through something more intense. There’s no shame in my game to say that. You know, I’ve spoken with therapists in my life to help talk through some issues or some struggles I was having. There’s just so many people out there that that struggle on so many levels and it’s sad to me that it’s not recognized more, it’s not talked about more. It’s such a taboo subject for so many people.”

Continuing that thought, Pormer spoke on the importance of staying connected during quarantine: “During COVID, I think every single human being on the planet got hit mentally one way or another, because we were forced to stay away from each other. We’re born as a pack… so… I personally had to rediscover myself and educate myself a lot more to make sure I could stay mentally balanced during COVID. I think mental health is the most important topic right now, and we have to focus on it. And what’s better than demonstrating your support for mental health than at a beautiful fashion show?” Pormer also mentioned her practice of transcendental meditation to remain centered and calm during COVID.

Finally, Baker spoke about reaching out to friends and maintaining connection while socially distanced: “I think mental health is a serious issue right now, especially during COVID. There’s a lot of spikes in like suicide rates and things like that. For me personally, it’s about making sure that I try to stay as balanced as I can. Whether it’s like playing video games, as a gamer, and doing things that I enjoy doing; or also checking in with my family and friends to make sure they’re okay. Just giving a call to someone that you may not have spoken to in a while to see how they’re doing…I always appreciate the calls that I get random friends. One thing that this experience the last two years has done for people is to [remind them to] make sure to reach out to people they haven’t talked to in a while. So, I think it’s in some ways it’s its brought people closer in making sure you’re talking to people that you haven’t talked to in a while. Connection so important.”

The presentation of Loftily positioned above a beautiful residence in Studio City, celebrity fashion designer Jonathan Marc Stein unveiled his newest Autumn/Winter 2021 clothing collection on April 29. 360 Magazine attended the event to view Stein’s dazzling designs and lear Marc Stein’s show was immaculate. Each model strutted down the runway with elegant poise, and every dress showcased more eye-catching and dazzling than the former. To see more of Stein’s work, you may visit his website.

Miles Hyman – Narrative Images

On view: May 13 – June 26, 2021 | Opening: May 13, 11 AM to 9 PM

Philippe Labaune Gallery is pleased to present Narrative Images, an exhibition of paintings and original comic strips by French American artist Miles Hyman. This will be the debut of Miles Hyman’s paintings in New York. Informed by mid-century American realism, European symbolism, and film noir, Hyman’s recent work is a study in light, imaginative juxtapositions, and a record of personal geography. Accompanying his paintings will be a selection of original comic strip drawings from graphic novel adaptations of Hyman’s grandmother Shirley Jackson’s The Lottery, James Ellroy’s The Black Dahlia, among others. Narrative Images will be on view from May 13 – June 26, 2021 with an opening reception on May 13 from 11 am to 9 pm.

The exhibition presents two painting series, Crash and East Coast Light. In the ongoing painting series, Crash, Hyman creates imaginative dichotomies of figure and landscape. An elusive, potentially quixotic relationship forms between female characters seemingly unfixed in time, with similarly enigmatic vehicle wreckage behind them. The characters at times appear to be plucked from other worlds, while others seemingly have a more direct tie to the dramatic scene appearing over their shoulder.

Within East Coast Light, a suite of paintings depicts fictional characters at various locations throughout New York City. The subject matter highlights the importance the city has to Miles Hyman, a locus steeped with childhood and adolescent memories, and a source of development for him as an artist. To this day, the historical resonance and constantly evolving landscape, coupled with a quality of light unique to metropolises, continues to provide a wellspring of inspiration for the artist.

Accompanying Hyman’s paintings will be original charcoal drawings from several of his graphic novels, most notably The Lottery. In 2016, Hyman released the graphic novel adaption to his grandmother Shirley Jackson’s critically acclaimed 1948 short story. In what Hyman aptly termed “a feat of inter-disciplinary acrobatics,” he had the overwhelming task to create a visual expression from words on a page and to keep the novel’s nuances and the secrets intact for the reader. Hyman viewed the undertaking as a way to rediscover one of Jackson’s greatest works and allowed him “to affirm a tangible link to her life and work in a way that was both professional and deeply personal.” The ability to pair his grandmother’s word with his drawing is a familial pairing like no other.

About Miles Hyman

Miles Hyman was born in Vermont in 1962, and currently lives and works in Paris. Hyman studied drawing and printmaking with David Schorr at Wesleyan University in Connecticut before attending Paris’ Ecole des Beaux-Arts. His works have been exhibited in museums including the Palais de Tokyo, the Glénat Foundation, Rome’s Institute of Graphic Arts and the French Musée de l’Illustration. In 2017, he was awarded the prestigious Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres from the French Ministry of Culture. Hyman’s drawings are featured by international publishers such as Simon & Schuster, Viking, Farrar Straus & Giroux, Gallimard, and Chronicle Books. His work has also appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Futuropolis, and a specially commissioned project with Louis Vuitton.

Baseball’s All-Star Game

Majority of Fans Support Removal of Baseball’s All-Star Game from Atlanta, Possible Removal of Super Bowl from Arizona Over Voting Laws

Support for Boycott of Beijing Olympic Games Over Human Rights Issues; Support for Athletes, Leagues, Unions Championing Social Change

By a 55-31 percent margin, a new Seton Hall Sports Poll has found that sports fans across the country support Major League Baseball’s decision to move the All-Star Game out of Atlanta in the wake of Georgia’s new voting laws. Those who call themselves “avid fans” are even more supportive, agreeing with MLB by a 67-25 percent margin.

The general population was also in support of the move from MLB by a 49-31 percent margin, with 20 percent indicating “don’t know/no opinion.” The “don’t know/no opinion” choice was recited by 14 percent of sports fans and only eight percent of avid fans.

These were the findings of a Seton Hall Sports Poll conducted April 23-26 geographically spread across the United States using a national representative sample weighted according to gender, age, ethnicity, education, income and geography based on U.S. Census Bureau figures. The Poll had 1,563 adult respondents with a margin of error of +/- 3.2 percent.

Super Bowl Removed from Arizona?

Almost exactly the same level of support was shown for the possibility of moving the 2023 Super Bowl out of Arizona should that state follow Georgia with similar voting law changes. By 55-32 percent (13 percent don’t know/no opinion), sports fans would support moving the game, with avid fans in support of a move by 64-27 percent (9 percent don’t know/no opinion). Among the general public, there is also support for moving the game by 49-30 percent with 21 percent in the “don’t know/no opinion” category.

“When I had the profound pleasure of meeting with Nelson Mandela in 1993 as the Executive Director of the National Basketball Players Association, he encouraged us to use our positions in sport to become agents of change,” said Seton Hall Professor Charles Grantham, director of the Center for Sport Management within the Stillman School of Business. “It is perhaps a long time in coming, but there would seem to be more support than ever for that proposition amongst the leagues, the players and the fans as well as the general public. But so far, the moves are largely symbolic and will require the leagues to utilize their strong political lobby to effectuate legislative and policy change.”

An Olympic Boycott for Beijing Games?

Moving on to the global stage, respondents to the poll were also asked about a possible boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics in China, a country often cited for human rights violations. Asked if they would support a boycott of the games, 55 percent of the U.S. general population said yes, with only 23 percent saying no, and 22 percent saying they did not know or held no opinion. Among sports fans, support for a boycott rose to 57 percent vs. 27 percent opposed to a boycott, and among avid fans, 65 percent said yes to a boycott vs. 23 percent saying no. The don’t know/no opinion responses were 16 percent and 12 percent respectively for these self-described fans.

With Allies?

When Americans were asked if they would support an Olympic boycott if multiple countries joined in, the “yes” numbers (in favor) rose to 60 percent for the general population, 62 percent for sports fans and stayed even at 65 percent for avid fans.

Should Athletes Be Able to Participate Independently if Their Countries Boycott the Olympics?

On the question of whether athletes should be able to compete without representing their countries (if their countries were boycotting), the general population said yes by more than a 2 to 1 margin (49-23 percent), with 28 percent registering don’t know/no opinion. Among sports fans, the yes margin was even greater at 54-23 percent (with 23 percent don’t know/no opinion). Support for athletes competing individually rose again among avid fans to 63-23 percent with 14 percent saying don’t know/no opinion.

Should Leagues and Teams Use Their Influence To Affect Social Change?

Asked whether organizations (sports leagues and teams) should use their influence to affect social change, the general public supported such actions by a 48-36 percent margin with 16 percent answering don’t know/no opinion. The level of support for teams and leagues wielding their influence to affect social change rose to 52 percent for sports fans and 61 percent for avid fans.

Should Governments Use Sporting Events To Influence or Affect Social Change?

Asked whether governments should use sporting events to affect social change, the general public supported such actions by a 43-38 percent margin with 19 percent answering don’t know/no opinion. The level of support for governments wielding their influence to affect social change through sport rose to 48 percent for sports fans and 61 percent for avid fans.

Players and Players Associations?

Asked if athletes and/or players associations should use their influence to affect social change – 51 percent of the general population said yes, compared to only 35 percent no and 14 percent who said they did not know or had no opinion. Support for the players’ advocacy rose among sports fans to 55 percent with 34 percent opposing. Among those who describe themselves as “avid fans,” those in favor rose again to 65 percent with opposition declining to 28 percent (11 and seven percent, respectively, saying don’t know/no opinion).

“The question of moving major events in response to legislation or boycotting the Olympics gets to the heart of sports and society, and one influencing the other,” said Grantham. “If the leagues, teams and players continue to wield their economic and political power as agents of change, the potential for real and meaningful impact can be realized.”

Kate Middleton × Future Queen

Jezebel: The Forging of Kate Middleton Into a Future Queen

On the eve of her 10th wedding anniversary, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, appeared on the steps of St. George’s Chapel in Windsor for a very different sort of formal royal occasion: the funeral of the 99-year-old Prince Philip. She was appropriately somber in a black coat dress and matching hat, with a veil over her eyes lending her appearance a slight frisson of Dynasty-style mature glamour. The look was leavened only by a four-strand pearl choker borrowed from Queen Elizabeth II. After the service family members opted to walk back to Windsor Castle in the pleasant spring weather, and so came the most hotly anticipated moment of the day: Will and Harry together again, walking along at first with Kate—until she discreetly melted a couple of steps behind the brothers and let them walk ahead together.

The Duchess of Cambridge received effusive praise for her appearance at the funeral and perceived role as peacemaker between the warring brothers: “Kate Middleton’s new role as the glue holding troubled House of Windsor together,” the Mirror declared breathlessly in the wake of the funeral, praising the duchess for “tenderly” kissing her father-in-law on the cheek. The Telegraph announced, “The Duchess of Cambridge’s destiny is set, but it was at Prince Philip’s funeral that she showed just how ready she is for the role of future queen,” while the Sun pronounced: “Kate Middleton looked every inch the graceful and stoic royal at Prince Philip’s funeral.”

It was a media anointment in the UK—a coronation, even. Those same papers once tittered about how some people found Kate’s mother a bit vulgar and bandied about the nicknames “Waity Katy” or the “Duchess of Dolittle,” suggesting Kate was shamelessly content to wait around for Will and none too keen on work. Over the last decade, the commoner from Berkshire has successfully fashioned herself into a perfect, smiling, briskly competent but never flashy vision of modern, polished, up-market motherhood—posting her own photographs of the kids on Instagram, chatting kindly through her charity efforts with new mothers struggling to adjust. The Duchess of Cambridge is now the wholesome heart of the Windsors, the maternal figure with an expansive understanding of family ties ready to extend a hand to the prodigal brother, the future queen with the traditional womanly virtues required to bind together an ancient institution as its biggest generational transition in a century loom. This modern queen is the creation of a very old-fashioned playbook—handed down straight from Victoria and Albert.

Born in 1982 to Carole and Michael Middleton, who met working as a flight attendant and a dispatcher at British Airways, Kate’s childhood was prosperous but conventionally happy. Michael is distantly descended from Tudor gentry but more recently from Yorkshiremen who’d struck it rich in wool during the 19th century, resulting in a series of trusts that could be drawn upon for things like fancy private education. Carole is technically a very distant relative of the Queen Mother, but her family tree was full of laborers—including a coal-miner great-grandfather—and she had been born in a council flat. Around the time she had her third child, Carole launched Party Pieces, her party supply company; Robert Lacey puts somewhat dryly in his book Battle of Brothers that her “haggling skills are legendary in the direct mail business.” A source told him: “Butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth most of the time, but she was a ferocious negotiator—and if the haggling wasn’t going her way, the decibel level rose.”

Entrepreneur Skills You Need To Know

5 Skills Every New Entrepreneur Needs (and How to Get Them)

Entrepreneurs of Success offers tips to help entrepreneurs be more successful

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there are nearly 30 million small businesses in the country. Many of them are started by entrepreneurs who have an idea or a dream but may not necessarily know what it takes to start or keep a business going. The good news is that the skills needed to do just that can be learned along the way. Taking the time to learn what they are and adopt them will help entrepreneurs to be more successful with their business ventures.

“Nobody knows everything right from the start, but if you are willing to learn along the way, then you will have no problem gaining the skills you need to be successful,” explains Sara Khoudary, founder of Entrepreneurs of Success and the Mentor Momentum Community. “Entrepreneurs are a special group of people who are usually willing to do what it takes to see their business through.”

Having the skills it takes to be successful can make running a business easier and keep it less stressful. It can also make it easier to find your way around challenges that arise, such as those we have had to deal with over the last year with the pandemic. Not having important skills can leave entrepreneurs feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and stuck where they are.

Here are 5 skills every new entrepreneur needs, as well as tips on how to get them:

  • Communication skills. Being able to effectively communicate is essential in every business, whether you are selling to the public or other businesses. Improve upon your business communication skills by reading books on the topic, taking an online class, or even joining a group such as your local Toastmasters.
  • Patience. Not everything is going to happen overnight. Even the most successful businesses take time to grow. Overnight successes usually have years under their foundation before they suddenly take off. Learn patience by being mindful and celebrating the small milestones. It’s important to realize that things take time, and to focus more on the progress being made along the way.
  • Stress management. Being an entrepreneur can be stressful. If you don’t do something to manage the stress, then you may quickly become burned out or it can lead to health issues. Do something regularly that helps you reduce stress, such as meditation, hiking, exercising, journaling, etc.
  • Networking abilities. When you have a solid network, you will be able to get advice from others. A mentor or group of people that you can turn to with questions, to vent to, or to hear advice from can be golden. Find a mentor or join at least one group, such as Entrepreneurs of Success, that will put you in touch with others who are successful.
  • Hiring abilities. Many entrepreneurs need to hire people, but they are not familiar with such a task. Hiring the right people will make a huge difference in your business and can be the difference between thriving and diving. Learn hiring skills by reading books, discussing it with mentors, and attending conferences on the topic.

“Our mission is to help entrepreneurs be more successful,” added Khoudary. “When you have a support group that you can turn to, such as with our mentoring program, you will find that you get the answers you need to move forward, overcome challenges, and continue to grow.”

Entrepreneurs of Success offers a close-knit community for entrepreneurs. Members of the group are able to tap into unlimited support by a group of successful mentors, access special tools, collaborate, book club, network, and more. Memberships start at just $15 per month. The group also has a “Leaders of Impact” program that awards top mentors each year who are nominated by the community.
