AMERICAN DREAM 39RK

AMERICAN COACH DEBUTS AMERICAN DREAM 39RK

FLOORPLAN INCLUDES EXCLUSIVE KITCHEN ISLAND LAYOUT

REV Recreation Group (RRG), a subsidiary of REV Group, Inc., introduces the all-new 2021 American Dream 39RK model with an innovative floorplan at the FMCA’s 102nd International Convention in Perry, GA (March 10-13, 2021). The 39RK is a Class A Diesel motor coach by the ultra-luxury American Coach brand.

At 40’ 2”, the American Dream 39RK layout provides easy livability and ultimate comfort. Signature elements include a stylish, industry-leading kitchen island, an Adap-table Dinette, a full master suite, and a split lavatory with an enclosed watering room. In the kitchen, the new 39RK floorplan features one of the first stationary islands in a Class A. The fixed island provides more countertop workspace and additional storage, accommodates an induction cooktop, and includes a wine chiller.

“Whenever you’re entertaining, guests naturally gravitate to the kitchen and congregate around the island,” says Doug Miller, Product Manager for REV Recreation Group. “The 39RK floorplan delivers that ‘at-home’ experience with the kitchen island and a number of other residential amenities.”

The island is made possible by an exclusive Adap-table Dinette that can serve as a convenient workstation or breakfast bar for two. By swinging the table out vertically, it easily hosts a dinner party for four. Additional high-end appointments in the kitchen include quartz countertops, two wireless charging stations, an optional Fisher Paykel dishwasher, and hand-made cabinetry with full-extension drawers. The bathroom suite features quartz countertops with a tile backsplash and a beautifully tiled shower with a glass enclosure, skylight, and teak bench. The master suite appointments include a king-sized articulating bed that’s flanked by quartz-topped nightstands, two wireless charging stations, a chest of deep drawers that can accommodate a full wardrobe of clothes, a stackable washer and dryer, and a 43” LED TV.

The American Dream 39RK is built on American Coach’s exclusive and robust Liberty Bridge chassis, boasts a Cummins L9 450 horsepower engine, and has a steerable tag axle for sharp turning and extra carrying capacity.

American Dream offers owners a plethora of choices to customize their motor coach – four exterior paint designs (Falling Ash, Nighthawk, South Beach, and Stone Washed), three stylish and refined décor packages (Club Navy, Luxe Truffle, and Rockport Greige), and four hardwood options that range from classic and rich to contemporary and bright (Cognac, Majestic Chestnut, Sandbar Grey, and Edgecomb).

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, American Coach is the most luxurious brand from RRG. The American Coach line includes three richly appointed models – American Dream, American Tradition, and American Eagle.

Mental Illness × Addiction Crisis

With Pandemic Worsening the Mental Illness and Addiction Crisis, Biden Administration to Provide Nearly $2.5 Billion to States, Territories for Treatment, Prevention Aid

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
Funding to Support Comprehensive Community Prevention, Treatment, Recovery and Health Services

The Biden Administration will provide nearly $2.5 billion in funding to states and territories to address the nation’s mental illness and addiction crisis, which has worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will direct $1.65 billion in Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant funding and $825 million in Community Mental Health Services Block Grant funding to states and territories. The Community Mental Health Services Block Grant program allows states and territories to provide comprehensive community mental health services and address needs and gaps in existing treatment services for those with severe mental health conditions. The Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant program allows states and territories to plan, implement and evaluate activities to prevent and treat substance use disorder. This funding will also allow recipients to maximize efficiency in existing treatment and recovery infrastructure, promote support for providers and address unique local needs to deliver substance use disorder prevention.

“We know multiple stressors during the pandemic – isolation, sickness, grief, job loss, food instability, and loss of routines – have devastated many Americans and presented unprecedented challenges for behavioral health providers across the nation,” said Acting Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use Tom Coderre. “During this time of increased urgency, we want to assure them that funding is in place to help states and territories provide pathways to prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services, especially for underserved populations.”

Recently, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released data confirming a rise in fatal overdoses during the pandemic. This year’s increases in calls to helplines across the country indicate growing anxiety, depression, and trauma in Americans. The COVID-19 pandemic and the corresponding economic crisis have been especially devastating for Black and Latino communities, which are experiencing a disproportionate number of COVID-19 infections and deaths as well as higher-than-average unemployment rates.

“SAMHSA resources connect Americans to evidence-based treatment and services every day,” said Coderre. “Focusing on both mental and substance use disorders – challenges that pre-date the COVID-19 pandemic but that have worsened over the past year – will be a crucial part of SAMHSA’s approach to helping the nation move forward.”

In addition to the $2.5 billion awarded today, SAMHSA has awarded $686 million in Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) Expansion Grants; Emergency Grants to Address Mental and Substance Use Disorders During COVID-19 (Emergency Response COVID-19), and supplements to the fiscal year 2020 Emergency Response COVID-19 grant recipients.

Funding allocation tables can be viewed here:

FY 2021 Community Mental Health Block Grant Program COVID-19 Supplemental Awards

FY 2021 Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant Program COVID-19 Supplemental Awards

People searching for treatment for mental or substance use disorders can find treatment by visiting SAMHSA’s website or by calling SAMHSA’s National Helpline,

Blink and You’ll Miss it!

Canadian Ice Hockey

Watch just one professional ice hockey match and we guarantee you will be hooked for life. It’s one of the most exciting and fast-paced sports in the world; with players skating at up to 25mph and a puck flying towards the goal at 100mph, you will understand why you can’t afford to blink!

Betting is a huge part of Canadian ice hockey culture and one that is featured heavily by all of the best sports betting sites on wetten.com, where you are certain to find a bookmaker that fits the bill.

You can certainly add even more excitement by betting on ice hockey matches, although we don’t recommend some of the in-play options until you are fully conversant with what’s happening on the ice!

Love the sport – how do I bet?

Ice hockey is one of the rare games played over three sessions rather than two halves.  Play is three 20-minute periods, with sufficient time between each for the players to get their breath back and plan strategy, for the Zamboni to restore the ice to pristine and for spectators to grab a much-needed beer.

The most common type of bet is Moneyline, which means a straight wager on which of the two teams you think will win the match.  There are lots of others too; you could place a bet on your prediction of the score, or total number of goals at the end of each period of play, for example.

Ice hockey is both addictive and interactive. Although it is unlikely you will be able to attend a live match for a while yet, extended TV coverage and live-streaming from select bookmakers is currently bridging the NHL gap, both doing their best to keep the fan base happy until spectators are let loose again.

I want to bet – what’s the best plan?

The NHL currently comprises 31 teams, 24 located in the US and 7 from Canada. During the regular ice hockey season, each team will play 82 matches, 41 at their home rink and 41 away games. As you can see, that is a lot of matches and one hell of a lot of statistics.

If you intend to wager seriously based on studying stats, then your first port of call has to be the official NHL website, where you will find more statistics than you can comprehend, as well as all of the ice hockey rules and regulations too.

Don’t be daunted, if you only want to wager for fun, there are plenty of more ‘novel’ bets to catch your attention.  Emotions run high on the ice and players often resort to physicality to settle their differences, usually leading to penalties plus a time-out in the ‘sin bin,’ you can even bet on that aspect if you like.

I prefer to follow the Canadian teams – where can I find out more?

No country in the world loves ice hockey as much as Canada and it has more professional teams than any similarly-populated part of the US, from a per capita perspective.

There are seven NHL teams playing out of Canada, all with their own websites and fan pages, where you can find out everything you need to know about the teams and individual players:

•Montreal Canadians

•Toronto Maple Leafs

•Vancouver Canucks

•Edmonton Oilers

•Calgary Flames

•Ottawa Senators

•Winnipeg Jets

Canada undoubtedly has some of the best ice hockey teams in the world and we know exactly how seriously Canadians take this sport.  If your betting strategy is based largely around the seven Canadian teams playing in the NHL, then keeping up with all of the latest news is vital.

Particularly so for this season, as current Covid restrictions mean that changes have been made to Canadian match arrangements, which could affect your strategy.

Which bookie is best for Canadian ice hockey?

Canadian bookies come in many shapes and sizes, all of them offering betting on NHL matches.  However, there are a select few Canadian operations that specialise in ice hockey betting, which we believe can offer you the best all-round experience.

Don’t forget to have fun!

It really doesn’t matter whether you have just discovered the joys of ice hockey or you are a lifelong fan, everyone sings off the same hymn sheet in the crowds, dress up in your team jersey and be prepared to shout, cheer and stamp as necessary.

You will never find another sport where everything moves so fast and where every second counts.  Whether you are betting or not, you will certainly enjoy!

BESLA Honored by Recording Academy

THE RECORDING ACADEMY HONORS THE BLACK ENTERTAINMENT AND SPORTS LAWYERS ASSOCIATION AT THE 23RD ANNUAL ENTERTAINMENT LAW INITIATIVE EVENT

Today, the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association (BESLA) earns recognition by the Recording Academy at the virtual 23rd Annual Entertainment Law Initiative Event & Scholarship PresentationBESLA stands out as a nationally recognized leader in legal education and professional development for lawyers and professionals in entertainment, sports, and related industries.

During a historic GRAMMY® Week among the nation’s most prominent entertainment attorneys, BESLA proudly received the 2021 Entertainment Law Initiative Service Award. This achievement highlights leading entities that have demonstrated a commitment to advancing and supporting the music community through service. Additionally, BESLA celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2020 and commemorated the founding group of attorneys in Philadelphia during the First Annual Black Music Association Conference. Their actions sprung from a need to create a continual learning and networking environment for underrepresented attorneys in the entertainment industry, one that today reflects the incredible tenure adopted and developed over 40 years ago.

To continue elevating the trajectory for professionals of color, BESLA has recently committed to establishing an endowment that will support future generations of aspiring executives. This endowment serves as an acknowledgment of BESLA’s commitment to empowering and uplifting its community through service.

On the honorable mention, BESLAs Chairwoman Khadijah Sharif-Drinkard said, “We are honored that the Recording Academy has selected BESLA to receive the ELI Service Award for our commitment to creating an equitable, inclusive and diverse industry. While this award is in recognition of what we have accomplished to date, it is also a reminder that we must continue to create pathways for people of color to gain entry, access, and opportunities to excel in entertainment, media, and sports.”

As part of their mission to support and advance the excellence of professionals in entertainment and sports, BESLA has consistently opened doors for members via annual conferences, regional events, key initiatives, and most recently through the establishment of their endowment. Today, it continues to build on a 40-plus year legacy to advance people of color in the entertainment industry, as recognized by the 2021 ELI Service Award.

BESLA was founded by like-minded professionals who saw the need for an organization where collective experiences and knowledge could be shared for professional development, networking, and the advancement of people of color. Before BESLA, artists, athletes, lawyers, and professionals of color in the sports, entertainment, and legal professions were anomalies– exceptions to the rule. Black professionals like Muhammad Ali, Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Thurgood Marshall, and Hank Aaron all fought uphill battles for fair and equitable treatment and the rights of others, like themselves, who did not have the celebrity, platform, or voice to call attention to their respective struggles. They were agents of change. They challenged the status quo and forced society to reevaluate their preconceived notions of the skills, capabilities, and ‘place’ of people of color.

As a result, the Black Entertainment Lawyers Association (BELA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was formed in 1980. To incorporate growing opportunities in the sports arena, the name was changed to the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association (BESLA) in 1986.

PETA Attacks NBA Over Sponsorship

PETA Attacks NBA Over Canada Goose Sponsorship

Natural Fibers Alliance Blows Foul on Extremism

This week members of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) demanded the NBA scuttle its new multiyear partnership with Canada Goose. On Monday, the Canadian company announced a multi-year partnership with the NBA to develop specialized attire for NBA All-Star Games.

PETA has had a long-running campaign against Canada Goose because the company uses feathers and fur in some of its outerwear. PETA has vigorously attempted to ban the use of all leather, wool, fur, cashmere, down, and silk at the federal, state, and local levels because they are derived from animals–including the leather used to make basketballs.

Mike Brown, head of sustainability and communications with the Natural Fibers Alliance, issued the following response to PETA: PETA has gotten so extreme that it would ban basketballs simply because they’re made with leather. This is a lay-up for the league: Tell PETA to hit the showers.”

Not only does PETA’s advocacy against natural materials harm the environment but threatens consumers’ freedom of choice. Synthetic clothing is one of the top global polluters of waterways. Researchers estimate that synthetic fabrics alone are responsible for up to 35 percent of microplastic pollution in our oceans; synthetic clothing “sheds” microparticles when cleaned. Natural fibers, in contrast, are a sustainable and renewable resource.

The Natural Fibers Alliance is a newly formed environmental justice coalition representing wool, leather, fur, and other naturally produced materials. For additional comments or questions, contact Mike Brown.

False Light Author on Cuomo Scandal

New York Governor May Not Weather This Long-Term

Eric Dezenhall, noted D.C. crisis management expert and author of the new novel False Lightpublished a column in RealClearPolitics Tuesday, offering insight into the ongoing scandal surrounding New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Cuomo has been hit with two scandals in the last few weeks regarding COVID deaths inside nursing homes and multiple women who have accused him of sexual harassment.

“On the timing side, Cuomo was puffed up during the early stages of the COVID pandemic not for his charm, but because he provided a seemingly cogent and competent foil to President Donald Trump’s colossal buffoonery in the face of the crisis,” Mr. Dezenhall wrote.

But now that Trump is out of office, he continued, “the rifle scope must go somewhere,” in this case the women who have alleged at inappropriate behavior from Cuomo. This has led to the media that spent much of the last year praising Cuomo to quickly turn on him, exacerbating the already damning scandal regarding the nursing homes. Between COVID and the allegations, Mr. Dezenhall wrote that the governor may not be able to endure a drawn out firestorm.

“If I were to make a prediction, it would be that Cuomo doesn’t weather this one long-term. The people of New York are in a terrible mood and very few constituencies have a vested interest in keeping him,” Mr. Dezenhall wrote. “He’s been in office for more than a decade now.  And in an age when progressives are confronting the consequences of a movement they initiated, Cuomo’s alleged behavior is a hard cause to rally behind.”

False Light, Mr. Dezenhall’s latest novel, creates a fictional storyline that seems all too real, giving readers a thrilling account of the tumultuous events surrounding a public figure’s sexual assault allegations and a path to justice for “the little man.”

He also opens up about a recent breakup and what it’s really like playing virtual shows. “It’s the only time [during the pandemic] when I felt alive, when I felt like I was doing something real,” he revealed about a show streamed live from the Satosphère projection room at Montreal’s Société des arts technologiques.

Kaytranada isn’t the only local artist on the rise. We highlight 10 other Canadian musicians to check out now, plus two Canadian women-led companies selling clean beauty via vegan perfume oils, and one Toronto-born designer whose ethically made shoes and accessories have been worn by the likes of Zendaya and Meghan Markle.

Zachary Knowles 'carpool single' shot by Josh Hymowitz (Cornerstone) for 360 Magazine

ZACHARY KNOWLES – CARPOOL

TENDER POP CREATOR ZACHARY KNOWLES SHARES NEW SINGLE & VIDEO “CARPOOL” OUT NOW VIA FADER LABEL

WATCH HERE | LISTEN HERE

“Knowles’ emotional, nostalgic longings are universally felt, and are sure to tug on your heartstrings. At the same time, his music is upbeat, catchy, and dazzlingly ambient.”

-360 MAGAZINE

“Zachary Knowles has dug himself a soft spot in our hearts, and it is only a matter of time until he finds his way into yours.”

Ones To Watch

Knowles offers up honeyed vocals while he straddles the sonic outlines of introspective bedroom-pop and pacific R&B inflections. Propelled by the subtleness of a minimal production and an eloquent falsetto… toward the direction of a sonic haven where one can find equanimity in a time of difficulty.”

-EARMILK

Rising artist and tender pop creator, Zachary Knowles, shares his newest single, “carpool,” today via FADER Label. The latest from Knowles is a song of yearning for his love to be next to him and the pain of distance that turns to a need for escape and daydreaming. Nobody can drive in the carpool lane alone and Knowles feels into the void in his life, and sings, “it’s not the same without you here with me.” On the single, he says:

“carpool” is about the mental traffic jam and anxiety of being separated from the person you love. I can’t stand being stuck in traffic, so I thought it would be the perfect concept to portray those lonely feelings. The song itself flowed out very naturally and I knew it was something special. At its surface, “carpool” focuses on how bad it feels to be alone, but below it’s a love song about desire and how your person makes all the lonely and sad times better.”

The music video for “carpool” opens with Knowles sitting in front of his car underneath a street light. Lyrics flash across the screen that hit extra hard, like “only so many songs I can sing by myself,” as the loneliness in his heart is written all over his face. He gets on his feet and starts packing his car up with every door as wide open as his longing heart.

The previous single, “johnny & june,” arrived last month, just before Valentine’s Day, along with a music video steeped in mystery, nostalgia and most importantly: love. The Texas-based singer, songwriter and performer calls back to one of the most famous love stories in music, that of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. The accompanying music video by TJ Hoover and Jonah George (Jeremy Zucker, Chelsea Cutler, Alexander23) takes the song to an innocent setting that many can trace first love moments back to: high school. The viewer never sees the face of this could-be June, and yet they see so deeply into the soulful eyes of this potential Johnny.

Spotify highlighted the track on their New Music Friday playlist, where Knowles is a mainstay with his new releases. The Most Radicalist described the single saying, “I can imagine a venue filled with fans chanting along to this cut,” and Wizard Radio says, “The best way to describe Zachary Knowles music is like a warm hug from a cozy blanket.” Hidden Hits says, “‘Sweeter than honey, “johnny & june” is the best love song we’ve heard from Knowles thus far. Although he wrote “johnny & june” at a time of chaos and confusion, Knowles managed to craft a charming tune that’ll certainly resonate with millions around the world.”

The selflessness of Zachary Knowles isn’t just in the music’s sweet lyrics of love, but also how it was made. Ashe, Alexander23, X Lovers, and more have been collaborators of his and share a collective vision of expression to really serve listeners in the most impactful way possible. With 45 million global streams, nearly one million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 53k followers on Tiktok, it’s clear it’s working.

The fresh up-and-comer, who opened for Alec Benjamin on tour in 2019, has been turning heads in the pop and indie-R&B realms with two EPs, Feelings (2018) and Magnolia (2020), with songs such as “city” and “slow summer” that show off his gifted, yet ever-improving songwriting skills that caught the attention of Ones to WatchUproxx, Earmilk, Happy Mag, and more.

The newest offerings, “carpool” and “johnny & june,” both out now via FADER Label, are follow-ups to his powerful stand-alone single “super sad songs” and his Magnolia EP, offering proof that pop can be personal and that Knowles is one of its most intriguing and capable emerging song crafters to date.

BIO

Zachary Knowles has spent his entire life leading up to this moment. Hailing from Magnolia, Texas, Knowles was bit by the musical bug at an early age, when his parents gifted him a light-up keyboard in first grade. “I started teaching myself songs on there, but I always kept it to myself,” he explains. It didn’t take long for Knowles to run with his newfound talents; Eventually, Knowles transitioned into writing his own material, and he was pleasantly surprised at the online reaction to his own work as it racked up tens of thousands of streams on SoundCloud almost immediately: “I fell in love with making music. I’d come home from school and write as much stuff as I could.”

In his freshman year of college, he set a goal to release something properly and ended up with a series of well-received singles that led to a full EP of music touching on influences ranging from John Mayer to Post Malone and, most predominantly, Justin Bieber. Most recently, he released his Magnolia EP, a collection of songs that take direct inspiration from his small-town upbringing, young love, and the lessons that come with growing up. Knowles’ music has a strong ethos – To forge deeper connections with those around him by reaching deep inside to expose the commonalities that bond everyone in this universe. “I just wanna reach people,” he explains. “My whole dream at the start of this was to build relationships, whether it’s with one person or a hundred people. Personal connections to others are so important. Music is a really cool way to express yourself in a real way and talk about real-life things, rather than what others want to hear.” It’s an admirable aim, and you’ll definitely want to hear what Knowles has coming next.
