Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, reopens Nov. 15 as announced by 360 MAGAZINE.

Grand Wailea Reopens with Enhanced Safety

Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort — an iconic beachside sprawling resort nestled on 40 acres of lush, tropical gardens fronting Maui’s Wailea Beach — will reopen its doors on November 15, 2020. Staying true to the Grand Wailea traditions and spirit while ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff, travelers will now have the opportunity to create new memories at the celebrated resort. The reopening also marks the debut of The Grand Life, a sweeping variety of programming that focuses on well-being and incorporates personalized health and safety measures. The Grand Life will also include a reimagined twist to the exceptional experiences the resort is highly-acclaimed for, such as its award-winning spa, immersive activities, and interactive and educational experiences for kids. Detailed information on the guest arrival experience, including health & safety protocols and resort activities can be found here.

“The core of our culture is built around happiness, wellbeing, and respect for the land. We have missed being able to provide our warm hospitality to travelers and look forward to welcoming our guests back,” said Managing Director, JP Oliver. “We are committed to fostering a connection between our travelers and Hawaii through our array of unforgettable Grand Wailea guest offerings.

Elements of The Grand Life include

 Wellness Ambassador:

Grand Wailea is committed to making guests’ travel plans as safe and seamless as possible. Grand Wailea will provide a ‘Wellness Ambassador’ on property to assist prior, during, and following a guest’s arrival. There will be a wellness check area with a thermal face scanner, complimentary masks, hand sanitizer, posted CDC recommendations for social distancing, and Maui county regulations. The Wellness Ambassador will be a resource to help guide all guests through Maui’s changing health and safety protocols. Creating a stress-free trip that focuses on well-being and relaxation, each traveler will leave the property having created new memories and feeling more refreshed than ever before.

Spa Grande:

Grand Wailea is home to the largest spa in all of Hawaii – Spa Grande – a 50,000 square foot wellness space with countless accolades for its innovative programming. Uniting Thalassotherapy and Ancient Eastern and Hawaiian Philosophies, Spa Grande features an extensive range of Hawaiian and globally inspired therapies. The signature treatments, which ensure the health and safety of guests among all other treatments, include the Hawaiian Healing Escape, a half-day transformative and indulgent experience that uses traditional Hawaiian healing practices and massage therapies combined with herbal plant medicine grown in the lush rainforests of Hawaii. Additionally, the Ho’omalie  healing treatment blends rhythmic lomilomi and pohaku (warm stone) massage, and the Hawaiian Superfood Crystal Facial is a potent collagen-producing facial that deeply infuses the skin with pristine nutrients. With travelers looking to rest and relax while staying safe, Spa Grande will reopen with a socially distant approach and follow all health & safety protocols. The Spa Grande experience will feature other special touches including a welcome hand-cleansing ritual and an immune-boosting elixir served at the end of all treatments. Open-air treatment options in a poolside cabana will also be available, as well as in-room treatments for those who would prefer not to use the spa facilities. In-room spa & wellness kits will be available for those who are looking to continue their Spa Grande experience in the privacy of their own rooms, including Knesko and Patchology face masks, bath ritual kits, sleep enhancing kit, and personalized skin care sets from Eminence and SkinCeuticals, and more.

Launching in early 2021, the spa’s new Live Grande Wellness program will allow guests to discover their path to a vibrant fulfilling life through thoughtful wellness experiences that allow for exploration on needs and desires to spiritually heal inside and out. The program will feature à la carte wellness experiences, events & workshops with visiting practitioners, one to three-day retreats and more. Highlights of the services include energy treatments such as reiki and chakra balancing, to healing arts like reflexology and cupping, nutrition sessions on intuitive eating, metaphysical sessions including birth and wedding charts and natal readings, and mindfulness sessions including personalized meditation and guided visualization. Details of the program will be announced before the end of the year.

For guests looking to stay fit during their visit, the resort has implemented ‘gym pods,’ a dedicated private space away for individuals or families traveling together, with special equipment including Peloton bikes, interactive Mirror screens, rowing machines, free weights, and yoga mats. For travelers looking to take their workouts outside, open-air areas throughout the resort grounds will be available for personal training sessions and socially-distanced outdoor fitness classes.

Make Your Zoom Background Your Real Background:

Guests looking to work remotely will be treated to a seamless ‘work from home’ set-up. Upon request, guests will have access to their own “office” – a room or area at the hotel with a workstation including a monitor, conferencing equipment and any supplies they may need. For young guests engaged in virtual schooling, Grand Wailea will offer IT support, desks upon request, school supplies, and an on-demand tutor, to ensure that little guests are set up for success with their schooling.

Grand Passport:

After almost eight-months in front of screens, whether television or iPad for entertainment, or a computer screen for virtual learning, Grand Wailea is encouraging its school-aged guests to partake in non-screen educational experiences through its new self-guided Grand Passport program. Focusing on both immersion into Hawaiian culture, including the islands’ storied Polynesian ancestry and abundance of flora & fauna, as well as sustainable practices to combat guests’ carbon footprint, self-guided tours of the artwork featured throughout the resort with work from Botero, Leger, and Chihuly, and even surfing and snorkeling lessons, the Grand Passport program will offer a memorable educational lesson that is sure to last forever.

Upon check-in, children will receive a Grand Passport, which maps and lists out all educational activities to visit around the property. After each activity, a “stamp” on their passport will officially indicate they have successfully completed the ‘Hawaiian lesson.’ Following a young person’s stay, Grand Wailea will continue to send (via e-mail) immersive reading material on Hawaiian culture and print outs for coloring to continue the interest, education and conversation.

The resort has undergone key changes in accordance with government and local authority guidance as well as Hilton CleanStay with Lysol protection, which includes, among many other motions, operating at a minimum capacity and with limited facilities; COVID-19 testing; thermal screen temperature checks; light therapy to enhance the immune system; antigen testing; social distancing of at least six feet in effect in all areas; offering keyless entry for guests in every room; as well as limited bell and valet services to minimize human interaction to further appease their health & safety concerns of traveling during this time. A full list of related revisions is available here.

As of October 15, 2020, visitors age five and older are allowed to bypass Hawaii’s mandated 14-day quarantine with proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Children five and under are exempt from quarantine rules and therefore, do not require proof of a negative test/ For Hawaii-bound travelers, more information on testing here.

NEEDTOBREATHE – Banks

NEEDTOBREATHE RELEASE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR “BANKS” WATCH HERE

NEW ALBUM OUT OF BODY AVAILABLE NOW HERE

GRAMMY Award-nominated rock band NEEDTOBREATHE has released an official music video for “Banks” off their critically acclaimed new album Out of Body. The Chris Phelps-directed clip sees the band perform the anthemic song around a campfire. Watch it HERE.

This song is about the women in our lives… They are strong, ambitious, patient, caring, and intelligent forces of nature. Banks is our way of saying we support you and that there’s nothing more beautiful than watching you effortlessly become the very thing you were made to be, the band shared upon the song’s release.

Out of Body was released on August 28 and debuted in the top 5 across three Billboard charts. The album is available physically and digitally via Elektra Records/Centricity Music now HERE. Limited edition merch bundles are available exclusively through NEEDTOBREATHE’s online store HERE. Last month, NEEDTOBREATHE unveiled a brand new version of the album’s current single “Who Am I” featuring vocals from multi-platinum recording artist, Elle King. “Who Am I” (feat. Elle King) is available to stream and download as an official Out of Body bonus track now HERE.

Upon Out of Body’s release, People applauded the band’s super catchy new music, while American Songwriter commended NEEDTOBREATHE’s solid capabilities in both ballads and upbeat anthem-style songs. Southern Living praised the group as our favorite Southern rock band adding several songs feel like they were written specifically to get us through this difficult moment in time. Taste of Country noted, NEEDTOBREATHE prove beautiful, collaborative art can still be made amid a pandemic.

NEEDTOBREATHE welcomed the album with Celebrating Out of Body, a fully immersive release-day concert experience that saw them perform Out of Body in its entirety, live for the very first time. Last month the band took the stage at CBS This Morning Saturday to deliver the network television debut performances of Hang On, Who Am I and Survival. The band also performed sessions for Billboard, The Grammy Museum, Spin, American Songwriter, and more.

On Out of Body, the platinum-certified trio Bear Rinehart [vocals, guitar], Seth Bolt [bass, vocals], and Josh Lovelace [keys, vocals] examine life, family, and friends through a youthful prism. The guys take stock of not only two decades as a band, but also first-time fatherhood and the future over a rich soundtrack of soulful rock with stadium-size scope and poetic intimacy. After spending a week at a beach house in Charleston to gather thoughts and ideas, the trio headed to Nashville, to record alongside producers Cason Cooley and Jeremy Lutito. As they cultivated a team atmosphere, the songs organically came to life.
ABOUT NEEDTOBREATHE:GRAMMY Award-nominated NEEDTOBREATHE have mounted a steady ascent to the top of the charts and packed arenas everywhere. Formed in 1998, the group attracted a loyal grassroots following with their full-length debut Daylight [2006] and its follow-up The Heat [2007]. Two years later, The Outsiders became their first Top 20 entry on the Billboard Top 200 before eventually going gold. During 2011, The Reckoninglanded at #1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart and #6 on the Top 200. In addition to bowing at #3 on the Top 200, 2014ߣs Rivers in the Wasteland yielded the platinum-selling Hot 100 hit “Brother” [feat. Gavin DeGraw] and Multiplied, which garnered their first GRAMMY nod. Meanwhile, H A R D L O V E[2016] marked their highest chart bow yet, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Top Current Album Sales Chart, as the title track “Hard Love” [feat. Andra Day] scored a gold plaque. Along the way, they headlined and sold out iconic venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Greek Theatre, and Ryman Auditorium, to name a few. The group picked up a pair of nominations at the Billboard Music Awards, and received praise from People, Rolling Stone, Forbes, and more. Now, NEEDTOBREATHE reflect the freedom of youth on their seventh full-length offering, Out of Body[Elektra Records/Centricity Music] over a rich soundtrack of soulful rock with stadium-size scope and poetic intimacy.

Fayetteville Road and Nordstrom x Women of Color FashTech Brunch

Fayetteville Road, rising retail technology agency, just partnered with Nordstrom to host the Women of Color FashTech Brunch. Established due to the lack of community and limited opportunities for women of color in the intersection of creative and technical industries, the WOC FashTech Brunch will celebrate its first national collaboration with leading fashion retailer Nordstrom. Remaining true to its origin, the event series will celebrate the successes and accomplishments of the top women of color in the fashion and beauty industries all while creating a safe space for them to discuss their brands and personal experiences.

Founded in 2018 by Jessica Couch and Brittany Hicks, the WOC FashTech Brunch was first held during New York Fashion Week and has since grown 50x in the past few years.

The two entities are leaning on one another to curate a raw, uncut conversation between black beauty founders, gatekeepers and experts across the fashion and beauty industry – all while practicing social distancing. Key names in the beauty industry Autumne West (National Beauty Director – Nordstrom) and Misa Hylton (Celebrity Stylist & Global Creative Partner MCM), AJ Crimson (Founder/CEO AJ Crimson), Dominique Boseman (Founder, Spraise), Samantha Garvey (Designer, S. Garvey) and many more.

The virtual event will be syndicated across multiple platforms (later this week) and reach more than a million women of color who are beauty and fashion enthusiasts, featuring the women behind the scenes serving as gatekeepers in the beauty and fashion industry. This highly anticipated event will serve as a prelude to an exciting beauty launch at Nordstrom.

New Exhibits at Harley-Davidson Museum

Two new special exhibits premiere at the Harley-Davidson Museum
Plus, celebrate the season with a special Holiday Weekend Sale, the H-D Museum shows its appreciation to those who served with free admission to Veterans* on Veterans on Veterans Day and special gallery talks focused on H-D’s long history with the U.S. military.

Art, engineering and the timeless pursuit of adventure are always on display at the Harley-Davidson Museum. And beginning this month, two new special exhibits bring those elements to the fore.

“Off-Road Harley-Davidson” opens to the public Nov. 1 and tells the history of motorcycles designed for rough roads, the people who rode them and the adventures they shared. Dating back to the Motor Company’s earliest days and shining a spotlight on what the all-new, all-electric LiveWire® motorcycle is capable of, this exhibit is sure to thrill those who prefer the road less traveled. “Performance Builds from Born-Free” brings together four customized Harley-Davidson® motorcycles where imagination and ingenuity take center stage.

And in what has become an annual tradition of expressing gratitude for those who serve and those who have served, the Veterans Day 2020 appreciation includes free admission to the H-D Museum on Nov 11 and 12.

Finally, be sure to check out the H-D Museum’s Holiday Weekend Sale and score on your favorite H-D branded gear. Give as a gift or add to your wardrobe!

As always, the safety of our guests is a top priority for the Harley-Davidson Museum. Guests may notice changes since their most recent visit, including limited capacity. Visit the H-D Museum website to find out more about our safety measures or to purchase tickets in advance.

MUST-SEE EXHIBITS
“Off-Road Harley-Davidson”
Opening Nov. 21, 2020; Media Preview: Friday, Nov. 20
In the decades before America paved its highways, early riders had to be prepared for all sorts of terrain: sand, clay or dirt – and wandering those makeshift byways were Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. Today, it’s called off-road or adventure touring; back then it was just called riding. Since 1903, Harley-Davidson motorcycles proved their toughness by riding over wooded hills, through stone-choked creek beds and up mountain sides. “Off-Road Harley-Davidson” tells the history of motorcycles designed for rough roads, the people who rode them, and the adventures they shared. Stay tuned to the H-D Museum social channels for a behind-the-scenes look at this exhibit.

“Performance Builds from Born-Free”
The Born-Free Motorcycle Show has been bringing together intrepid builders for more than a decade. The H-D Museum is pleased to display the passion projects of four top-notch Born-Free wrenchers whose canvas is a stock Harley- Davidson® motorcycle. Now on display in the Engine Room.

Stevan Dohanos painting, “Tex’s Motorcycle”
Dohanos, a frequent contributor to the Saturday Evening Post, enjoyed capturing his subjects as they were in real life. For this piece, Dohanos found his muse on a street in Georgetown, Conn. “Tex” Keller had decorated his saddle bags with nickel spots and covered his saddle with fur, putting his own flair on the Harley-Davidson® motorcycle. Though Dohanos probably didn’t title the work, many motorcyclists now refer to it as “Tex’s Motorcycle” and prints of it can be found in shops across the country. The original has found a home at the H-D Museum.

“Building a Milwaukee Icon: Harley-Davidson’s Juneau Avenue Factory”
(Now)
A recently recovered cache of architectural drawings includes plans for the original Juneau Avenue facility. The pencil drawings, along with archival photographs, demonstrate the whirlwind pace of the company’s early growth. While building an international business—going from producing just over 1,000 motorcycles in 1909 to manufacturing 27,000 motorcycles in 1920—the company’s Milwaukee factory experienced near-constant expansion. Construction through this relatively brief period created the buildings that today, a century later, are still the proud home of Harley-Davidson.

“Building a Milwaukee Icon” provides a snapshot of Harley-Davidson’s formative years and illustrates a chapter of Milwaukee history when the city was known as the “Machine Shop to the World.” Stay tuned to the H-D Museum social channels for a behind-the-scenes look at this exhibit.

Will Trump Attend Inauguration?

BookMaker.eu released odds on whether President Trump will attend the inauguration of Joe Biden and the public vehemently disagreed with their prediction. “Initially we priced President Trump at a 1/2 (-200) favorite to attend. Meaning you had to wager $2 to win $1 on Trump attending,” said Head Political Trader Angus Hamm. “The public did not share our belief in Trump adhering to tradition and we were buried in bets against Trump attending to the point where the odds shot up to 1/3 (-300) that Trump will not attend.”

Postal Inspection Service Lists Scams Targeting Veterans

As Veterans Day approaches this Wednesday, Operation Protect Veterans is alerting more than 17 million U.S. veterans to scams that are specifically targeting them. OPV is a joint crime prevention program created by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and AARP.

Some of these scams are listed as:

  • Secret Veterans Benefits Scam: Veterans are told they qualify for “secret” government programs or benefits that offer thousands of dollars. But first, they attempt to collect personal information or a fee.
  • Pension Poaching Scam: Scammers often offer veterans lump sum payments up front, in exchange for signing over all their future monthly benefit checks.
  • Bogus Employment Scam: Scammers post fake job descriptions to collect personal information from a veteran’s job application, or they charge an employment fee.
  • VA Loan Scams: Offers to refinance VA loans at extremely low rates.
  • Update Your File Scam: An imposter, claiming to be from a government agency, attempts to get a veteran’s personal information to “update their file,” so they can maintain their benefits.
  • Aid and Attendance Scam: Veterans (or their family members) receive an offer to move their assets into a living trust so that they can qualify for financial assisted Iiving benefits.

According to research conducted by AARP, veterans are twice as likely as the general public to be victims of scams. What can veterans – and those who care about them – do to prevent being taken advantage of by scammers?

The Postal Inspection Service advises every veteran do the following:

  • Visit the Postal Inspection Service’s website (www.uspis.gov) to learn about scams targeting veterans and what they can do to prevent becoming a victim.
  • Check out any offer with a trusted family member, friend or your local veteran’s affairs office before acting.
  • Don’t be pressured into acting immediately. If you are dealing with a legitimate outfit, they won’t try to pressure you to act before having a chance to check it out and think about it. If they do, just say “no” and hang up.
  • Get an answering machine and caller ID display. Then, let the machine answer the phone for you. If you don’t recognize the person leaving a message, don’t pick up the phone!
  • Contact your telephone service provider, and ask them what kind of services they offer to help you block unwanted calls.
  • Report if you believe you have been the victim of a scam. Contact your local police or AARP (protectveterans@aarp.org or 877-908-3360).
  • Get credible information on how to qualify for veterans’ benefits by contacting your state veterans’ affairs agency. Visit www.nasdva.us, and click on “Links.”

“Veterans have access to special benefits and share a special bond that scammers know and use to take advantage of them,” said Chief Postal Inspector Gary Barksdale. “The Postal Inspection Service works hard every day to stop scams targeting veterans, but we need everyone to become better informed, so they can help spread the knowledge to the veterans they know and love.

“I encourage all Americans to make this Veteran’s Day not only a day of remembrance and thanks for our veterans,” Barksdale continued, “but also to make it the start of learning about, and helping to spread information on scams targeting veterans.”

Does Car Insurance Cover Hail Damage to My Car?

On average, the cost of repair for hail damage to a car is about $2,500

If you recently had a bad storm that damaged your car, you might not have the money to repair the car, especially if you weren’t expecting that extra cost.

However, in some cases, you could turn to your insurance to help you out. But when does that work? We’ll break down everything you need to know, so make sure you keep reading!

Your Coverage

Before you can submit a claim for the insurance company to cover your hail damage, you’ll need to check your insurance policy first to figure out if you have a hail damage claim.

If you only have liability coverage, then you’re not covered for hail damage. Liability coverage will only protect you if you cause damage to someone else’s vehicle in an accident.

However, if you have comprehensive coverage, you might be able to submit a claim. This will let you submit a claim to have any damage to your car paid for. This includes things like an animal damaging your car, a tree falling on it, glass shattering, or hail damage.

If you know that there is a big storm coming, you may not be able to automatically sign up for comprehensive insurance. Insurance companies normally put a hold on when you can sign up so that you don’t do it just for catastrophic events. This is why you should have insurance at all times.

The Deductible

If you have comprehensive insurance, you’ll likely also have a deductible. This is the amount you’ll have to pay out of your own pocket before the insurance steps in and covers some of it.

If you have a higher deductible, you might also have a lower premium, so consider that if you’re new to signing up for comprehensive insurance.

However, if you live in an area where hail storms happen often, you’ll have to figure out whether you can afford the out-of-pocket deductible if you need to submit a claim.

In some instances, the insurance company might waive the deductible if it affects the glass of your car.

Your Premium

Whenever you make a claim, it gets added to your insurance record. Every time you submit a claim, it could end up affecting what you pay for car insurance, but that’s only if you submit a lot of claims over a short period of time.

Deciding to file a claim will depend on how much damage you have. If the damage isn’t that bad, it might save you money, in the long run, to just pay for it yourself. However, if your car is going to have thousands of dollars in hail damage and you don’t have the money to pay for it, it might be better to risk the higher premium later on.

How to File a Claim

If you decide that you do want to file a claim for hail damage to car, you should do it as soon as possible.

You’ll do it the same way that you’ve filed other claims for your car before. Contact the insurance company either on the phone or online. You should do it as soon as the storm is gone.

If it’s a large storm, your neighbors in the area will likely be doing the same thing, so you want to make sure you try and get in as soon as possible to avoid waiting for hours to reach someone.

Once you actually get to file the claim, the insurance company will send a claims adjuster to look at the damage and figure out how much they will pay you to fix the hail damage.

How to Fix the Damage

Whether the insurance company decides to help you or not, you’ll still need to then fix the damages.

If your car is already paid for and the damage isn’t too bad, you could decide to just leave the dents. But if you still have a loan on the car, you’ll need to find someone to repair it.

For those who did file a claim, the claim adjuster will help you find an auto body shop and get an estimate for the repair. For those who didn’t have the insurance to cover it, you can find your own auto body shop and get quotes on your own.

If you’re going to do that, make sure you shop around so that you can find the best deal possible.

How to Protect it in the Future

To avoid all of this in the future, you’ll also have to figure out how to protect your car from future hail storms.

If you live somewhere that constantly has hail storms, you should look into preventative measures. Some of them include just buying a car cover to prevent hail damage that you can keep in the back of your trunk. If a hail storm pops up, you can easily pull over and cover your car to help reduce the impact from the hail.

Weather apps can also be useful and send you alerts when a storm is about to pop up. If you have enough time, you should try and find a garage or a covered area to help stop the hail from damaging your car.
