Sam Smith “Stay With Me” Now RIAA Diamond Certified

Sam Smith’s 2014 breakthrough single, “Stay With Me,” has earned an RIAA Diamond certification, surpassing the 10-million threshold counting song sales and streams in the United States.  The soulful track is from Smith’s debut album, In The Lonely Hour, which won the GRAMMY® Award for Best Pop Vocal Album while “Stay With Me” took honors in both Record and Song of the Year categories and Smith was named Best New Artist.

“Stay With Me” became a worldwide hit, debuting at No. 1 on the U.K. chart and topping the charts in numerous countries. Gemmist introduces innovative scalp balancing bar

“After taking a small questionnaire, this product was formulated specifically for my hair texture. The shampoo lather felt lavish and the conditioner was viscous.” 360 Magazine’s Vaughn Lowery

The science-based, personalized haircare brand, Gemmist, is proud to announce the launch of their premium, soap-free Scalp Balancing Bar. A new innovation in scalp care, this first-of-its-kind bar utilizes results-driven, vegan ingredients to help exfoliate the scalp and  hair from the roots. The bar is free of sulfates, silicones, parabens and PEGs.

A weekly scalp therapy, that provides soap-free moisturizing, physical exfoliation, and stimulation to the scalp and hair follicles, the Scalp Balancing Bar transforms into a rich creamy lather when emulsified with water and instantly soothes, refreshes, and clarifies. Natural Ingredients include sugar—for gentle exfoliation; Eucalyptus Oil – to help relieve itchiness and control excess oil, Tea Tree Leaf Oil — anti-fungal and known to clear hair follicles,  Ginger Root Oil—to clarify, stimulate, purify and refresh; and Argan Oil and Shea Butter—for hydration.

“Compared to the skin on our bodies, the scalp contains more sebaceous and sweat glands as well as hair follicles, which makes it very important to take care of,” says Allison Harr, CEO and founder of Gemmist. “The Scalp Balancing Bar took over a year to develop, and we couldn’t be more excited to offer this product to our existing lineup of haircare essentials.”

Gemmist partnered with experts in soap and soap-free bar chemistry to make a product that would exfoliate and help balance the scalp by helping to remove product build-up, excess oils, and pollution with every wash —resulting in a scalp that is both soothed and refreshed. For proper usage, once a week lather the bar with water and massage directly onto the scalp. Leave on for 1-2 minutes and then rinse well. Repeat if necessary and then shampoo and condition your hair, as usual, avoiding the scalp area.

The Gemmist Scalp Balancing Bar retails for $25 and can be purchased online alongside Gemmist’s shampoo and conditioner. All Gemmist products contain salon-grade ingredients to deliver exceptional results. For more information, please visit gemmist.com.

About Gemmist

The difference between wrongful death and manslaughter

If your family has experienced an accident or incident that resulted in the death of a loved one, you may want to know how you can legally settle the matter to see justice done on the deceased’s behalf. Many of these unfortunate cases are classified as manslaughter or wrongful death. You’ll need to know which is which so you can go through the proper legal procedures to get the compensation you and your other surviving family members are entitled to.

Wrongful Death

A wrongful death settlement offers a degree of safety to grieving families. This is particularly the case if the family member who passed away was a significant breadwinner in the family. The settlement allows families to restore themselves financially, such as paying for medical bills associated with the family member’s death or paying to replace a vehicle that was used in the family member’s fatal car accident.

Wrongful death law pertains to cases in which the actions of one person led to the death of someone else. This law is in place to ensure dependents and family members of the deceased who are financially affected by the relative’s death will be compensated.

Wrongful death claims can cover all types of fatal incidents, such as car accidents, medical malpractice, construction accidents, product liability cases, and elevator accidents. For the defendant to be held responsible for a wrongful death, the plaintiff has to provide evidence that the victim would not have died if the defendant were not negligent.

Wrongful death is considered a civil lawsuit. It’s important to note that a family can also file a wrongful death claim if the victim is injured at work or in a car accident, hospitalized for the injuries, and later dies because of them.

Manslaughter

Manslaughter charges can be filed if an individual did not intend to kill, but their negligence resulted in the death of another individual. Manslaughter in the first degree is when someone intentionally inflicts harm on someone else, and that harm or injury resulted in the victim’s death. Manslaughter in the second degree happens when a person causes someone else’s death because of recklessness.

If a person is aware that they are acting recklessly and ignore the risk of hurting or killing others, they are guilty of manslaughter, which is a criminal charge. Even though the defendant doesn’t have an intent to kill, their decision to act irresponsibly could be fatal for someone else.

For instance, if someone is driving at night and doesn’t turn their headlights on, and this decision results in the death of another driver or pedestrian, the driver is guilty of manslaughter. Or, if a doctor recklessly performs a procedure on someone with health conditions that increase their risk of death from the procedure, the doctor can be charged with manslaughter.

How Are Cases Conducted?

If a person is guilty of manslaughter, the federal or state government will prosecute them. The jury starts a trial assuming the defendant is innocent. The prosecutor has to present evidence that shows the defendant was behaving recklessly and caused another person’s death. If the defendant is found guilty, they will have to pay hefty fines and may have to serve a prison sentence.

Wrongful death cases occur in civil court. The close family members of the deceased usually file the charges. Since this is not a criminal case, wrongful death attorneys do not have to prove innocence or guilt beyond a doubt. The lawyer does, however, need to show adequate evidence to sway the jury. If the defendant is deemed guilty, they will have to pay for damages, which include funeral and burial expenses, loss of the deceased individual’s income, medical bills, and damages.

If you need to file a wrongful death claim, it’s important to start working with an attorney as soon as you can. Submit all evidence of your case to your lawyer so they can start working on your behalf to ensure that you and your family get the best settlement possible.

It was a lot of dancing, eating, and the fun didn’t stop until the next day.”  Isabela comments, “On Christmas my family makes chocolate caliente, and cuts Paneton. Then the celebrations start with lots of dancing. One of our traditions is the alcatraz, a Peruvian dance.  My hope is everyone gets to have a Caliente Navidad, whether it’s in a warm place or just a warm Christmas surrounded by those you love.”

Earlier this year, she dropped her debut EP, the better half of me. The lead single “lovin kind” has generated 10 million-plus Spotify streams and counting, while attracting praise from Teen Vogue and more.

ABOUT ISABELA MERCED

After nearly a decade in entertainment, Isabela Merced empowers herself first and foremost on her debut EP, the better half of me [Republic Records]. Rather than looking outward, the 18-year-old singer, songwriter, actress, and performer turns her gaze inward and emerges with five bilingual anthems that boldly break boundaries between cultures and genres.  Growing up in Ohio of Peruana and American descent, she made it to Broadway in Evita at just ten-years-old. As an actress, she appeared in acclaimed films, including Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Instant Family, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Dora and the Lost City of Gold as the iconic title character. Not to mention, she starred in the NETFLIX favorite Let It Snow. Along the way, she simultaneously established herself as a musical force. She teamed up with Sebastian Yatra for “My Only One (No Hay Nadie Más),” generating nearly 50 million Spotify streams. In 2019, her formal solo debut single “Papi” eclipsed 5 million Spotify streams, the official music video was viewed over 12 million times on YouTube, and the song drew acclaim from Refinery29, Billboard, Teen Vogue, and many more.

In the summer and fall of 2019, Isabela immersed herself in music at songwriting camps and in the studio with industry heavy hitters like Justin Tranter [Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber], Andres and Mauricio (“Despacito”), and producers Zach Skelton and G.O Kings Bred.  In 2020, she continued working on what would become the better half of me.  It showcased her writing and voice on a new level, emphasizing growth and unfiltered honesty across the entire body of work. After cowriting “lovin kind,” “chocolate,” and more, “apocalipsis” would be the final track written and recorded. She crafted the song alongside her younger brother and producer, Gyovanni Moner, known as Good Lunch. Upon finishing the five-song EP, she realized the vision was complete and decided to release it from quarantine at home.
