Trump Booed at Ginsburg’s Casket

By Payton Saso

On Thursday, President Donald Trump made a brief trip to the Supreme Court to visit the casket of the late Justice Ginsburg. However, where he and his wife, Melania, came to stand in silence to pay their respects, the observing crowds’ chants consumed the moment.

The crowd booed, chanted “vote him out” and “honor her wish” as the President stood for a short time wearing a mask, which he is not usually seen doing. It seems his symbolic act of honoring Justice Ginsburg did not appease the masses.

After a video showing the moment Trump learned of the Justice’s passing was broadcasted, many people were shocked that the President appeared civil, for lack of a better word, when interviewed.

However, it is important to remember actions speak louder than words, and this bare minimum, one-off moment does not over power his lasting sentiment about Ginsburg.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had not been one to shy away from sharing her opinion, especially when she saw something as an injustice. CNN reported that in 2016 Ginsburg “called Mr. Trump “a faker” who has “an ego” and has been treated too gently by the press. She said Mr. Trump “says whatever comes into his head at the moment” and has no consistency in his thinking.”

But this does not come as a surprise that this is how the Justice felt about the President. As a champion of women’s rights and one of the Justice’s that falls far left in opinion, it’s not unusual that the acts of an ultra-conservative, law bending president would not be Ruth’s cup of tea.

This showed strongly when NPR reported Ginsburg’s dying wish: “Just days before her death, as her strength waned, Ginsburg dictated this statement to her granddaughter Clara Spera: ‘My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.’”

This, however, is not the track the President is taking. With a vacancy on the Supreme Court, a Republican President’s nomination could shift the court in their favor 6-3, and Trump and Senator Mitch McConnell are trying to clutch that nomination before the November election.

It seems the revered Justice’s dying wish will not be honored even though the man pushing for her replacement made a similar exception four years ago.

Republican Senator McConnell’s words have come back to haunt him when in 2016 following Justice Scalia’s passing, he made it clear they would not allow a nomination during an election year. “Approximately one hour after his death, McConnell announced that the Senate would not hold confirmation hearings for anyone President Barack Obama chose to nominate. McConnell claimed, without any legal basis, that Supreme Court vacancies should not be filled in election years,” NBC reported.

But it seems now the Senator is back peddling, pushing for a new nomination just 40 days from the election. Not only are they dishonoring Justice Ginsburg’s death by nominating someone while Trump is still president, but Trump publicly said he doesn’t believe that was really her dying wish.

On the Fox News broadcast ‘Fox and Friends’ Trump gave an interview Monday claiming her dying wish might have been fabricated.

“I don’t know that she said that, or was that written out by Adam Schiff and Schumer and Pelosi. I would be more inclined to the second, OK? That came out of the wind,” Trump said. “It sounds so beautiful. But that sounds like a Schumer deal or maybe a Pelosi or shifty Schiff. So that came out of the wind. Let’s see. I mean, maybe she did and maybe she didn’t.”

This was dedicated in a fact checking article written by CNN where they rebuffed saying that these claims are completely baseless.

This conspiracy theory made up in the mind of Trump, seems just another way Trump has concocted that Democrats are out to get him. Claiming a person, let alone a Supreme Court Justices’ dying wish is a scheme made up by Democrats to dissuade Trump from making a nomination is outlandish.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg deserves to honored after death for her revolutionary career and the lasting impact she had on many people’s lives, especially women’s. So while the crowd booed and chanted “honor her wish” as Trump paid his respects, whether it was for show or not, the public can only hope that the President does, or at least isn’t able to push his nomination.

Leopara Lighting System

Achieving the perfect lighting, especially on the go, can present its challenges. We’ve all been faced with such a dilemma: dingy lighting in a hotel room bathroom, making makeup or shaving nearly impossible. Or even just brightening up a space during travel for a quick touch up in the car. Luckily, a new product from Leopara solves these issues. Their patented technology features a 360° makeup lighting system that is compact, portable, and delivers bright, gorgeous lighting through wireless GlamPanels that attach and detach to any mirror.

The Leopara Lighting System comes with numerous impressive features, making it the perfect purchase for applying make-up flawlessly, or achieving the perfect shave. The four mirror-mountable LED GlamPanels illuminate even the darkest space as they are engineered with 5000k Daylight White LEDS that mimic natural light. This effort towards natural light provides the ideal color temperature for grooming, avoiding the troublesome overly white or yellow lights often present when traveling. Compact, wireless, and mirror-mountable, the easily portable Leopara Lighting System can travel mirror to mirror, car to house, on the plane, to your hotel, and anywhere else you need to go! It fits right into any bag in its custom case along with a 4-in-1 USB charging cord. Cases come in three colors: Onyx Chrome, Electric Pink, and Leopard Lux.

Crafted from a matte black, high-quality aluminum with a polycarbonate lens, the Leonara is lightweight, durable, sleek, and chic. To attach to any mirror, merely use the GlamPanels to create a vacuum seal. Mirrors aren’t the only option either – any non-porous surface will work with the Leonara Lighting System including other glasses and screens, making it all the more convenient.

In 360’s experience with the product, we found the convenience to be overwhelming. For those always on the go, like 360, the convenience of having excellent lighting in a moment, anywhere, truly came in handy. It proved excellent for grooming needs while traveling. Not only that, but it also became useful in unexpected ways. For those taking pictures on the go, achieving the perfect lighting in content can be challenging. Yet with the Leopara lighting system, pictures are suddenly illuminated by a clean, natural light. Selfies, pictures of landscape, or food pictures all benefited from being a bit more lit with Leopara just out of frame.

The Leopara Makeup Lighting System is the brainchild Rachel Vicknair, a global beauty educator, former pro dance, and film and TV talent who need a solution to a major problem she repeatedly faced when traveling: bad lighting! On her company’s aim, Vicknair states they are “on a mission to change the way the world gets glam by developing innovative tools and accessories that empower women and their beauty routines, rather than limit them.” Before founding Leopara, she worked extensively in the beauty, wellness, and biotech industries. Vicknair also advises FLIK, the Female Laboratory of Innovative Knowledge, a community for female founders and leaders to connect with apprentices in order to provide mentorship. The Leopara system is now available on Leopara.com and Amazon for purchase.

Juvenile Law Center – Board of Directors

By Cassandra Yany

Juvenile Law Center announced Wednesday the appointment of four new members to the Board of Directors. Khaliah Ali, Daniel Okonkwo, Robert Parker and Eli Segal will join the governing body of the national organization, based in Philadelphia. The center is the country’s first nonprofit public interest law firm for children’s rights.

Meet the new members:

Khaliah Ali

Khaliah Ali, the daughter of boxing legend and social justice activist Muhummad Ali, is a fashion designer, author and humanitarian. She first connected with Juvenile Law Center after she read about the child abuse crisis at Glen Mills Schools in Delaware County, PA where she resides. This led her to begin speaking and writing in support of the organization’s fight for children in juvenile facilities.

“I am so honored to serve on Juvenile Law Center’s board,” Ali said. “Additionally as the daughter of the late boxer Muhammad Ali, I am honored to help curate my father‘s legacy through such a laudable cause.”

R. Daniel Okonkwo, Esq.

R. Daniel Okonkwo, Esq. is an attorney and public policy expert with significant experience in the policy, advocacy and nonprofit sectors. Okonkwo is the Vice President (Relationship Manager) in the Office of Nonprofit Engagement at JPMorgan Chase and Co., where he is responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders and grantmaking in the Mid-Atlantic region. He also manages a national grant portfolio that focuses on nonprofit capacity building and civil rights organizations.

“I am thrilled and honored to join Juvenile Law Center’s Board of Directors,” said Okonkwo. “The organization has been at the forefront of the work to ensure that young people are protected from unjust treatment in the various systems that impact their lives. Juvenile Law Center is an organization that I have admired for a long time and I look forward to supporting their work on behalf of young people across the country.”

Robert P. Parker

Robert P. Parker spent 14 years as a partner in the Litigation Department of Paul, Weiss before joining a D.C.-based technology/litigation focused firm in 2013. His practice centers on complex civil matters involving technology, regulatory and commercial issues. Parker represents some of the world’s most established companies, as well as start-up enterprises in a variety of commercial and litigation matters. He is ranked among Washington D.C.’s Super Lawyers in the area of IP litigation and has previously served as the chairman for the National Council of Adoption’s Board of Directors.

“Too often, children and teens become lost in the juvenile justice system – civil and criminal. The impact on their lives, their families, and society at large is beyond calculation,” said Parker. “I am delighted to join Juvenile Law Center’s efforts to ensure that no more juveniles get lost in our courts or in their placements.”

Eli Segal

Eli Segal is a partner at the law firm of Troutman Pepper, where he focuses on representing journalists in First Amendment matters, colleges and universities in their unique legal issues, and other businesses and individuals within the spectrum of commercial litigation. He is the co-chair of Troutman Pepper’s First Amendment and Newsroom practice.

“I volunteered at Juvenile Law Center years ago during college and law school and am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute again to the organization’s vitally important work,” said Segal.

Juvenile Law Center says it is proud to welcome these distinguished individuals to its Board of Directors. “Our Board of Directors is an integral part of Juvenile Law Center and it is a joy and privilege to work with them,” said Sue Mangold, the Chief Executive Officer. “We are thrilled to welcome Khaliah Ali, Daniel Okonkwo, Robert Parker and Eli Segal. Each is already engaged in our work and brings valuable expertise and experience to our board.”

About Juvenile Law Center

Juvenile Law Center advocates for rights, dignity, equity and opportunity for youth in the foster care and justice systems.

Tyrod Taylor

By Justin Lyons

Justin Herbert lined up under center on the first drive Sunday for the Los Angeles Chargers, which was a surprise.

Herbert was selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but Tyrod Taylor was supposed to be the starter while Herbert learned from the bench. Herbert had a successful day, scoring on his first drive and going on to throw for 311 yards and a touchdown, but he came up a bit short of the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs in overtime.

It’s now clear why Taylor didn’t play quarterback Sunday. Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn told ESPN’s Shelley Smith that Taylor’s lung was punctured by a team doctor attempting to administer a pain relief injection just before kickoff.

Lynn told Smith that the injury is not career-threatening, and Taylor isn’t mad or upset. Lynn appeared to reaffirm Taylor’s status as a starter when he is cleared to return, saying there was a lot the Chargers didn’t get done with Herbert as their quarterback and that Herbert is a backup “for a reason.”

George Atallah, the assistant executive director of external affairs for the NFL Players Association, tweeted that the union’s medical and legal teams are looking into the incident. He also confirmed that the NFLPA has initiated an investigation.

According to ESPN, the injection is not uncommon, but the doctor is unable to see where the needle is going, which can be difficult. Though the procedure is standard, it is rare that a player’s lung is punctured.

Lynn said Herbert will start Sunday at home against the Carolina Panthers, as Taylor won’t be fully healthy.

“I am looking forward to seeing him play with a week of preparation and knowing he is the starter,” Lynn said.

The Panthers and Chargers will kick off at 1:05 p.m. local time Sunday.

Coach Forever reflects on what matters most in our world right now and makes a statement about renewal, responsibility and reduction. It conveys how they are styled, cared for, personalized and passed down, offering a vision of a more mindful future featuring better-made items.

“With Coach Forever, I wanted to find new ways of doing things,” said Vevers. “It was important to me to challenge how we create our collections, and consider their impact on our communities and the planet.”

Coach Forever was unveiled as a film presentation, which was shot remotely from around the world. The film displays a global cast donning the new pieces, including celebrities like Kaia Gerber, Kate Moss, Debbie Harry, Megan Thee Stallion, Cole Sprouse, Bob the Drag Queen, Rickey Thompson, Jeremy Lin and many more.

The presentation unites these individuals to tell a story about the everlasting importance of community and inclusivity. The film is accompanied by additional social content that also reveals the collection and cast through the lens of director Juergen Teller. For the launch, Vevers and Teller collaborated with singer, songwriter and producer :3ION to create the music and debut a new track called “Yesterday.”

Coach Forever emphasizes the brand’s commitment to a more environmentally friendly approach to fashion by introducing bags designed to last from vegetable-tanned, naturally-dyed leather, and totes made entirely of recycled materials. These include fabrics made from recycled plastic bottles, accessories, and crafted up-cycled remnants, along with vintage pieces personalized with embellishments and embroidery.

Coach Forever has also introduced a special collection called “A Love Letter to New York,” which was crafted by New York City artisans to support the fashion community in Coach’s hometown. Gale Sayers

By Justin Lyons

Hall of Fame running back and Chicago Bears legend Gale Sayers died Wednesday at the age of 77.

Sayers played seven seasons, all as a Chicago Bear, racking up 4,956 rushing yards and 39 rushing touchdowns. He played his final regular season game in 1971, retired in 1972 and became the youngest Hall of Fame inductee in NFL history in 1977 at the age of 34.

The news comes via a statement from David Baker, the president of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

“All those who love the game of football mourn the loss of one of the greatest to ever play this game with the passing of Chicago Bears legend Gale Sayers. He was the very essence of a team player – quiet, unassuming and always ready to compliment a teammate for a key block,” Baker said. “Gale was an extraordinary man who overcame a great deal of adversity during his NFL career and life.”

Nicknamed the “Kansas Comet,” Sayers was an easy selection for the Hall of Fame despite injuries shortening his career.

Current NFL commissioner Roger Goodell also released a statement saying Sayers will be remembered for his inspiration and kindness.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to his wife Ardie and their family. Our thoughts are with his teammates, the Bears organization, the many fans who remember him as a football player and the many more people who were touched by Gale’s spirit and generosity,” Goodell said.

The story of Sayers’ friendship with teammate Brian Piccolo was told in the 1971 film “Brian’s Song,” which starred James Caan and Billy Dee Williams.

Williams, who played Sayers in the film, tweeted, “My heart is broken over the loss of my dear friend, Gale Sayers. Portraying Gale in ‘Brian’s Song’ was a true honor and one of the nightlights of my career. He was an extraordinary human being with the the kindest heart. My sincerest condolences to his family.”

Caan, who played Piccolo, tweeted that he was proud to have known Sayers and also offered his love and condolences to the family.

The New York Times reported in 2017 that Sayers had been battling dementia, but that didn’t stop him from attending the 100th year anniversary celebration of the Chicago Bears in June 2019.

Teammate Dick Butkus, who joined Sayers on stage at that celebration, said,”[I] will miss a great friend who helped me become the player I became because after practicing and scrimmaging against Gale I knew I could play against anybody. We lost one of the best Bears ever, and more importantly, we lost a great person.”

The Bears have added a banner with a photo of Sayers to their website and have changed their Twitter profile picture to Sayers’ famous number 40.

9 Tips to Remember Your Journey Forever

Any trip is an excellent opportunity to learn many new things and break out of the routine. No matter if you have just recently returned from a vacation filled with new impressions or vice versa, are just getting ready to go and planning your route, you may be interested in this article. We have collected nine small tips to remain inspired by the journey and remember it forever.

Make Yourself a Talisman

Some trips become something much more than just a break from work and truly open up a new chapter in our lives. If you want to capture this momentous moment for yourself or your friend, a 3D crystal photo can be a great option and one of the best gifts for avid travelers.

ArtPix 3D creates customized 3D crystals, such as keychains, necklaces, or figurines of different crystals types and shapes. Such a volumetric 3D Image created by using a laser-etching method looks beautiful and original. ArtPix 3D allows ordering unique personalized crystals online and shipping within the US in the shortest terms.

Write an Article or Post About Your Adventures

Even a short story about the trip will help you remember the vacation better, and it may become an inspiration and motivator for other travelers.

Also, your personal experience and fresh travel tips will help others to avoid mistakes and pitfalls.

The sharing of practical knowledge is invaluable because it makes travel more comfortable, safer, and more beneficial.

Feel free to share your findings, overcome difficulties, and even curiosities during the trip via social media. This information can come in handy for other people!

Relax and Take Pictures

Going on vacation, forget about work issues, and monotonous routine. Just have fun, and don’t forget to take pictures! Human memory is unreliable, and even the most vivid memories fade over time. The photos will become a “time machine” for you, helping you to relive your trips in all details.

To not be distracted from your adventures by monitoring likes and views your posts get on Instagram, try not to upload photos right away, or even use a good old camera or instant camera instead of a smartphone.

Take photos of not only what “is supposed to,” like places of tourist attraction, and not only what will collect more enthusiastic comments on social networks.

Notice and capture all these little things, details, and stories that will be understandable only to those who were next to you during this journey. Such shots have a unique nostalgic atmosphere.

Taste Masterpieces of Local Cuisine

Each nation has its gastronomic preferences and delicacies. In France, there are excellent cheeses and wine, in England – ales and puddings, in Italy – prosciutto, pizza, and lasagne, in Spain – paella, gazpacho, and Jamon serrano. Any country has something to please and amaze guests from abroad.

To appreciate the local cuisine, you should better avoid restaurants in tourist areas and near interest places. The food there will be much more expensive and, very likely, of lower quality. Walk a few blocks, and you will find nicer and cheaper local restaurants.

Besides, locals do not eat in cafes and restaurants every day, so that you can follow their example. Go to the supermarket or grocery store, pick something you would like to try, and cook dinner yourself.

If there is no kitchen where you are staying, that’s no problem. Visit a local farmers market, grab some fruits and sandwiches, and have a picnic in the park. New impressions and small savings are guaranteed for you!

Visit Quirky Spots and Museums

Besides the well-known museums of art or places of historical interest, popular and crowded with tourists, each city has small, but no less attractive educational and entertainment spots.

It can be a house-museum of a famous musician, scientist or writer, or a little-known but unusual private exhibition. For example, in Paris, why not go to the Museum of Erotica or Magic, the ancient Père Lachaise Cemetery, or the catacombs? So you will look at the city from a different angle and learn something new.

Make New Acquaintances

Do not be afraid to strike up a conversation with new people – fellow travelers, neighbors at a table in a cafe, locals. A conversation with a stranger is an adventure, albeit a small one, thanks to which you can learn a lot about little-known but worthwhile places to visit, local culture, customs, and sense of humor, as well as various useful life hacks.

Feel free to be the first to start the conversation.

First, you will learn foreign words, and you can show off new knowledge in front of friends or on a date. Secondly, it is good memory training. And finally, in this way, you will find mutual understanding with the locals and show respect: not everyone knows English.

Collect Some Souvenirs

Those who love to collect various memorabilia will appreciate this idea. Returning home from a foreign country or new city, you do not have to buy yourself keychains, magnets, and other typical souvenirs.

Take them for friends and loved ones, and leave yourself something more intimate and personal:

  • a tram ticket
  • a beautiful tree leaf
  • a coin
  • an old book from a flea market
  • a sugar stick from a cafe you had visited

These things will bring the ride back to mind with every touch.

Ride Public Transport

Become acquainted with the country or city from the inside through the window of a tram, bus, electric train, subway, and observe the locals.

You will see how people discuss the latest country news, reading the press, joking, or rushing to an important meeting. Such a casual experience will let you have a cheap sightseeing tour and see the city in all its details, not only well-known tourist spots.

Add Some Extreme

Long promenades through the streets, museums, and galleries are undoubtedly impressive. But why not add some adrenaline rush to the entertainment program?

Visiting attraction parks, horseback riding, visiting a crazy festival, riding on a cable car, or at least cycling or rollerblading will make your journey more eventful. Give yourself some vivid emotions!
