MIMI WEBB SHARES NEW SINGLE “I’LL BREAK MY HEART AGAIN”

Mimi Webb – New Single

After gathering 4 million streams in under a few months, garnering success on Tik Tok, and receiving acclaim from Wonderland, Consequence of Sound and more, 19-year-old UK singer/songwriter Mimi Webb unveils a new single and music video entitled “I’ll Break My Heart Again.

Get it HERE via Epic Records.

Watch it HERE.

In the cinematic visual, she awakens in a bed set under a leaf-less tree. Rousing from slumber like a fairytale heroine, the camera follows her through wide open fields and past rolling hills as her vocal delivery also climbs behind stirring strings and soft piano. A stark confession envelopes the chorus, and her voice booms, “Being with somebody helps, but if I’m  honest with myself, I’ll break my heart again and tell him it’s the end.”  Ultimately, “I’ll Break My Heart Again” transmits a heartbreaking, yet glorious goodbye.

Flaunt Magazine exclusively premiered the video earlier today and spoke with Mimi about the song. Watch the video now HERE. About the single and video, Mimi commented, “Writing this song came from a really vulnerable place of admitting the truth of where your heart belongs. You know it’s not right or good for you, but you can no longer convince yourself to stay away from the person you’re still in love with— even though you have something good going with another. It took me a  long time to face it, but this song really helped me through that process.” The song arrives on the heels of her buzzing anthem “Before I Go.” The track caught fire on Tik Tok when platform superstar Charli D’Amelio utilized it in a video on her page followed by over 74.9 million fans. On Tik  Tok alone, it attracted 15 million-plus views, 5.7 million “likes,” 69.8K comments, and 13k shares. Simultaneously, “Before I Go” amassed over 3.3 million Spotify streams and 494K YouTube views on the music video.

Inciting tastemaker applause, Wonderland praised, “Webb’s distinctive  husky vocals and gut-wrenching lyricism.Meanwhile, Consequence of Sound raves that, Mimi Webb has an unassuming sense of style and a voice that hits like a belt of brandy.” Lyrical eloquence, graceful spirit, and a seismic vocal range position Mimi Webb for a major moment in 2020 as she releases her debut EP later this year.

Masn – Fire

Artist on the rise MASN releases his new track Fire along with the music video via RCA Records. The video is directed by Brendan Vaughn. “Fire” follows MASN’s latest release “Hate Me!”which dropped last month and was featured on Billboard’s “10 Cool New Pop Songs To Get You Through The Week” and Ones To Watch “#NowWatching” playlist. MASN’s debut EP How To Kill A Rockstar is due out August 21st.

19-year-old Eagle Mountain, Utah native MASN exploded onto the scene last year when his hit single “Psycho!” dropped in January 2019. The track exploded online and had garnered over 99M combined audio and video streams worldwide and over 1.5M TikTok videos. Shortly after he released “Val!um” and earlier this year “Psycho!” feat. Trippie Redd which marked MASN’s first release with RCA Records. Earlier this month, German DJs/Producers Topic & B-Case remixed “Psycho!” check it out HERE. MASN’s expansive creative palette distills into a dreamy melting pot of lo-fi beatcraft, indie experimentation, hip-hop fluidity, and lush pop. He amplifies every side of himself within his songs and is looking forward to sharing his debut EP How To Kill A Rockstar which is due out August 21st.

Sasha Sloan – Lie

Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Sasha Sloan releases her new single “Lie” today. Written by Sasha along with King Henry and Emi Dragoi and produced by King Henry, “Lie” unpacks the denial and fallout of a failed relationship. With a breathtaking visual to follow next week, “Lie” sets the stage for Sasha to unveil her debut album, Only Child coming this Fall.

On Only Child, Sasha finally steps into her own as one of music’s most gifted lyricists and a profoundly affecting artist. “This album is a very mature version of me,” Sasha says. “It’s the most honest I’ve been. And there’s even a twinge of hope in there, which is new for me!” The album, which Sasha has been working on since last year and finished in quarantine, is equal parts arresting and affecting. It’s bold, confessional, funny and real. It builds off the beautiful foundation Sasha set forth with her trio of prior EP’s.

About Sasha Sloan

After emerging in 2017 and appearing on a handful of high-profile collaborations, 25-year-old singer/songwriter Sasha Sloan released her debut single “Ready Yet.” Since then, she has established herself as a true wordsmith, an artist’s artist, who crafts potent melodies filled with poignant lyrics. As a songwriter Sasha has amassed over 3.5 billion streams by penning hits for some of today’s biggest artists. In 2018 Sasha released her first two EPs, Sad Girl and Loser. Her track “Normal” has been heralded by Billboard as a “catchy introvert anthem.” These emotionally-rich, left-of-center pop releases lead to her late night debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2019 with a performance of “Older.” That year, Sasha completed her first North American and European headline tours (sold out) and released her 3rd and final EP Self Portrait, which had her single “Dancing With Your Ghost” as Idolator’s 6th “75 Best Pop Songs Of 2019.” She also recently scored a #1 on the Dance Chart for “I’ll Wait,” her collaboration with Kygo. Remarkably before she has released a debut album, Sasha has garnered over 2 billion streams worldwide to date.

Terrell Hines – Portal One: The Mixtape

Today, Terrell Hines shares his thrillingly inventive and eclectic new project, Portal One: The Mixtape. Released via Capitol Records, Portal One: The Mixtape is the debut mixtape from the boldly original songwriter/vocalist/multi-instrumentalist/producer.

LISTEN HERE.

Co-produced by Hines, Portal One: The Mixtape features his powerful and politically charged recent single Get Up (with Vince Staples); a collaboration with Vince Staples that’s earned acclaim from tastemakers like Rolling Stone, Brooklyn Vegan (who hailed it as a dose of kinetic art-funk) and The FADER (who praised the track’s forceful, heart-racing peak). Meanwhile, Rolling Stone noted that Staples’ verse on Get Up (with Vince Staples) perfectly complements the still-relevant urgency Hines packed into the original.

Along with Get Up (with Vince Staples), Portal One: The Mixtape includes previously released singles like Balance, Wu Dirt, St. Mark Rd., and Promise. Over the course of nine dynamic tracks, Hines delivers a genre-blurring sound informed by artists as disparate as OutKast, Joy Division, and Four Tet, infusing each song with the kinetic energy of live guitar, drums, bass, keys, and strings. To that end, Portal One: The Mixtape also showcases the polymathic musicality honed in part through his studies at The Berklee College of Music (which Hines attended on a full-ride scholarship). True to his hyper-creative tendencies, Hines created a visual component for all nine tracks while in quarantine, shooting his own videos with the help of a green screen.

Tracklist for Portal One: The Mixtape by Terrell Hines:

1. Promise
2. St. Mark Rd.
3. Wu Dirt
4. Get Up (with Vince Staples)
5. Balance
6. With Me
7. Bending – Interlude
8. Atwater Village (feat. BJ The Chicago Kid)
9. On Fire

Alec Wigdahl – Summer is Over

Singer, songwriter and guitarist Alec Wigdahl releases his third single “Summer is Over,” out now via 10K Projects/ Internet Money Records. Following the release of past singles “Lipstick” and “Cologne,” “Summer is Over” is a pop-rock anthem that shows Wigdahl singing over a dance-floor ready, guitar-led beat. His recent breakout “Cologne” has gained over 2.4 million plays on Spotify and holds a coveted spot on its “Young and Free” and “Anti Pop” playlists, and his catchy July release “Lipstick” has been heralded as the song to “soundtrack your summer romance” by Earmilk. The release is also accompanied by a music video, directed by Molly Hawkins (Harry Styles, The xx, Kelsey Lu), featuring bright colors and trippy visuals.

Based in L.A. but originally from outside Minneapolis, Alec Wigdahl took up songwriting at the age of 15, initially using music as a form of therapy. After teaching himself to play guitar by watching videos of his favorite musicians, he put out a self-produced EP called On My Mind his senior year of high school. Upon graduating he headed to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music, but quickly dropped out and returned home to enroll at the University of Minnesota, compelled to continue with his D.I.Y. approach to music. Those instincts proved to be right on target when the Internet Money team reached out to Wigdahl after discovering his songs on social media. By the end of last summer, Wigdahl had signed his deal with 10K Projects, and soon set to work on Strawberry – released December 2019, the EP showcases Alec’s stripped-down sonic palette.

Alec kicked off 2020 with a brutally honest but infectious new single called “Cologne.” His most popular to date, the track was produced by Wigdahl along with Internet Money founder Taz Taylor, Nick Mira, and OkTanner and featured more elaborate pop production than his previous record, Strawberry. Despite the differences in its production, “Cologne” offers up the same raw emotion that Wigdahl has always brought to his songwriting. As Wigdahl explains, that fearless honesty ultimately serves as a vehicle for personal connection.

“I love the kind of songs that are incredibly specific to the artist’s life, but when you listen it hits you right in the chest — almost like it’s happening to you,” says Wigdahl. “In my own music I try to be as personal and vulnerable as I possibly can, so that everyone can feel like the song was made for them. I want them to feel like I’m narrating their story at the same time that I’m narrating mine.”

Jake Paul FBI Raid

By Mina Tocalini

ABC News released footage of the FBI raid in YouTuber Jake Paul’s Calabasas mansion on Wednesday morning. The footage revealed several firearms being carried by deputies from the home, Paul was out of the state at the time.

Details regarding the investigation cannot be disclosed yet, but it is believed to be linked to the Scottsdale looting charges faced by Jake Paul and fellow YouTuber, Arman Izadi this past May. Paul has dismissed the charges on social media claiming to be “strictly documenting, not engaging” in the Fashion Square Mall protest.

Izadi’s ‘Graffiti Mansion’ in Las Vegas also underwent a similar raid the same day. Staff member Richard Ochoa commented to FOX 5 News that, “They did a search of the property, looking for a certain person that resides in Southern California (referring to Paul)”. Izadi seemed unconcerned with the raid as he continued to spend the day painting his house pink with a group of models for his ‘Barbie’ shoot.

JAWNY

JAWNY – Sabotage

Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist JAWNY released his brand new single “Sabotage” today. The “angsty yet anthemic” track is the first shared from JAWNY’s upcoming project For Abby, due out via Interscope Records later this year.
LISTEN TO “SABOTAGE” BY JAWNY HERE

“Built on a brilliant collision of bright beats and snarling riffs, “Sabotage” finds JAWNY looking back on a bad breakup with no regrets… With his signature self-aware humor, the 24-year-old artist boldly celebrates romantic destruction at the song’s shout-along chorus (“I sabotage my love/Just because”),” a press release reads.

“‘Sabotage’ is probably my most honest song on the entire project,” says the Bay Area native, “I was feeling really defeated in the room that day, and I feel like the song kinda embodies that.”

JAWNY’s 2019 viral hit “Honeypie,” hailed as a “slacker-funk gem” by DIY Mag, has seen a major resurgence this summer. Its accompanying music video surpassed 10.5 million views on YouTube and the track has now amassed over 53 million streams on Spotify, while JAWNY’s monthly-listener count has reached over 3 million.

Born Jacob Sullenger, JAWNY grew up outside Oakland and started playing guitar when he was just six-years-old. At age 13, he began making beats with his brother, eventually landing placements with several rappers in the SoundCloud scene of the late-aughts. By 2017 he’d gained a cult-like following thanks in part to a series of viral videos posted on Twitter, and drew further buzz in 2018 with a self-titled debut EP made under the name Johnny Utah. In 2019, he broadened his fanbase with widely praised singles like “Honeypie” and “4Tounce.” As labels came calling, JAWNY landed a deal with Interscope Records by the end of the year. With a process he describes as “very scatterbrained and manic and all-over-the-place” — and a happily warped musicality equally inspired by Tyler, the Creator and STRFKR — the L.A.-based artist is set to release his debut project for Interscope in late 2020.

Kenshi Yonezu × Fortnite

After over 2 years, Japanese singer-songwriter and music producer, Kenshi Yonezu, has officially released his long-awaited 5th studio album, “Stray Sheep”; along with a music video for “Campanella.” Fans all over the world showcased their excitement, as pre-sales for the album skyrocketed to 1 million copies, shipped out yesterday, August 4th. Over 65K fans eagerly waited in the YouTube Premiere Chatroom to watch Yonezu’s “Campanella” release last night, which is now sitting at over 2 million views.

To celebrate this release, Yonezu will be collaborating with Fortnite, as the first Asian artist ever, for a virtual 2020 Event / STRAY SHEEP in Fortnite. It will be held within the Battle Royale Game, Fortnite on August 7th @ 7:00AM Eastern Daylight Time, simultaneously around the world. For those who are unavailable at this time, 2 encore shows are scheduled to take place at 1:00PM and 7:00PM on August 7th (Friday). With over 350 million registered players worldwide, Kenshi Yonezu will be able to showcase his talents globally appearing on the Fortnite Main Stage.

STRAY SHEEP consists of 15 songs; including Yonezu’s previously released smash hit “Lemon,” which ranked #1 on Billboard Japan’s annual cumulative charts for 2 years consecutively, making history as the first-ever act to do so. Furthermore, it’s been certified by the Japan Record Association for the fastest to achieve 3 million downloads, and the music video has broken the Japanese record for the most views; sitting at almost 600 million currently.

During these uncertain times and unconventional work environment due to Covid-19, Yonezu reflected a lot while working on the album, stating; “When I thought about how I’m going to live in this country from now on, I realized that many things were getting me emotional with anger, disappointment, and despair. But in the end, my only choice is to live in this country – in this world. Which led to the conclusion that all I can do is make pop songs. In the end, we need to affirm that we exist and need to live. It’s really easy to be pessimistic and let creativity flow with anger and sadness, but I felt that is not my role. So, I thought about the distant future, where people were living a healthy life reminiscing about “what happened during those times”. I may have been envisioning those scenes when creating this song.”

Kenshi Yonezu is no stranger to breaking records and making history; he recently became the first Japanese Artist to hit 5M Youtube subscribers, with music video views reaching over 2.8 billion total, and counting. On July 10th, Yonezu released the music video for “Kanden” skyrocketed to 1M views in under 2 hours, and it currently sits at 30M. This single is off his upcoming album, and it debuted at No. 2 on the Japan Hot 100, blasting in at No. 1 for downloads with 158,572 units after dropping digitally July 6; stated by Billboard. The music video for “Kanden” marks Yonezu’s 13th music video to reach over 100 million views throughout his career.
