Watch a lyric video for the song HERE.
“lmho was written around the time come out. you’re hiding was completed. Most of my lyrics try to look at the bright side, but this song had no barriers. I was simply spilling my sadness, confusion, and heartache into our music, shared flor frontman Zach Grace. There are points in our lives where we feel completely out-of-control and stuck, and I did my best to be honest with myself and write exactly how I was feeling. Four years later, and our world is at a halt. Some of these feelings have a way of coming back again.”
Earlier this year, flor released their reimagined EP. Which features stripped-down recordings of fan-favorite tracks including unsaid, white noise, warm blood, and slow motion. Additionally, the EP includes a cover of Coldplay’s yellow featuring label-mates MisterWives. Watch the track’s official music video, which premiered on Billboard, HERE.
flor’s sophomore full-length ley lines was released in September, 2019, and is available physically and digitally HERE via Fueled By Ramen. Tears For Fears – The Seeds Of Love 2020

Over thirty years on from its original release, Tears For Fears’ third long-player The Seeds Of Love has taken on mythical status for its scope, ambition, timeless musicality, and the fact that it took over four years to record. Now, the band is releasing a 2020 special edition with never-before heard bonus tracks, brand new autobiographical content, and more.

For music fans and audiophiles the world over, the album continues to astound with its depth and sheer audacity. Three decades since its release, The Seeds Of Love has barely aged a day. As Roland Orzabal puts it, “Out of all our albums, I’d probably rank it highest. I think it surprised a lot of people, a lot of our peers as well, people who maybe we were being compared to in the mid-Eighties.” Curt Smith said “The tracks I liked then, I still like now. ‘Woman in Chains,’ ‘Badman’s Song,’ ‘Sowing the Seeds of Love,’ and ‘Advice For The Young At Heart’ have all stuck around. We still play those live.”

The super deluxe box set consists of four CDs and one Blu-Ray, which fully tells the story of how this extraordinary album came to be. The box set includes 22 unreleased tracks from demo sessions, live jams, studio sessions along with a definitive set of b-sides, and rare mixes. Highlights include demos of “Advice For The Young At Heart” with Roland Orzabal singing lead vocal and “Rhythm of Life,” which didn’t make it onto The Seeds of Love and was later given to Oleta Adams for her Circle of One album. The Blu-ray also features a stunning 5.1 mix by Grammy-nominated artist Steven Wilson.

Coming off the back of the ten million-selling Songs From The Big Chair, the first writing sessions for The Seeds Of Love started when the band was touring in 1985, making use of soundchecks to sketch the outlines of new songs. Over the next four years, Roland and Curt would work with several producers, engineers, and many musicians before finally deciding to produce the album themselves with assistance from their Songs From The Big Chair engineer Dave Bascombe.

A key person in the making of the album was pianist and singer Oleta Adams, who Roland and Curt had seen play in the bar of their hotel while touring in 1985. She joined the recording sessions in early 1988 along with world-class session players such as drummer Manu Katché and bass player Pino Palladino and would play a massive part in songs such as “Woman In Chains” and “Badman’s Song.” These sessions in 1988 are perhaps the most fascinating tapes unearthed for the boxset. These jams took place at London’s Townhouse studio, and disc four contains around 30 minutes edited down from over 24 hours of unadulterated in-the-studio live performance, exactly as it was performed at the time, complete with chatter, some laughter, and no overdubs. These jams include very different versions of “Woman in Chains,” “Badman’s Song,” “Standing On The Corner Of The Third World,” and “Rhythm of Life.”

While the band was pleased with these sessions, there was still at least another year of further recording, overdubbing, editing, mixing, tweaking and discussion, before the final mix was finished in New York in the summer of 1989.

All of the efforts that went into the making of The Seeds Of Love certainly paid off as it is now hailed as a classic of the time, alongside albums such as Talk Talk’s Spirit Of EdenThe Seeds Of Love was released in the ‘80’s, but it remains anything but an “80’s album.”

New Meme Greeting Card Company: “Dirty Pop Cards” Finds Humor in the Risque

You all have that one friend — you know, the one who gets your perverse sense of humor, the one who busts a gut when your raunchy side stands up. This is the friend who deserves a Dirty Pop greeting card. In a world where everyone sends memes and gifs multiple times daily, some might think the act of mailing a card is a thing of the past. Well, if that card is a pop-up pair of ta-tas or a fully erect penis — game changer! Tell me you aren’t giggling a little thinking about your most twisted friend opening 3D boobies or unfolding that special package and watching it come to life.

So, who has the balls to launch a new company with such risque merchandise? It’s the same person who defied the business-crushing COVID-19 pandemic and started a company despite the risks. Inspired by the vulgar memes that match her sense of humor, Thao Lam, CEO of www.dirtypopcards.com is doing her part to spice things up with her out-of-the-ordinary, bawdy greeting card company, Dirty Pop Cards.  Lam decided what the world was craving in these trying times was a little more laughter. With the extra challenges 2020 is creating, who doesn’t need to literally lol right now?

Lam is not going it alone. She and husband Levi Gale are the masterminds behind this widely successful venture. When creating their cards, entrepreneurs Lam and Gale seem to dig into the unspoken innuendos of imagery and language and let their minds roam to the raw aspects of human nature. They take the dirty little thought-process that plays out in most peoples’ heads and put it on paper. The result is a crass but hilarious Dirty Pop greeting card.

When you have a racy sense of humor, not everyone will get you. And even if they do, some will not be as amused as others. These facts make no impression on Lam, who says, “Quite frankly, life is too short to really give a sh*t.”  And it’s this attitude that has successfully launched a uniquely spicey card company in the most challenging times. For Lam, Dirty Pop Cards is about making people laugh. She knows her bawdy brand is not for everyone, and she and Gale have had to defend their raunchy wit by developing a bold business philosophy — “F*uck ‘Em.” Lam explains, “So, every time we see someone laughing over a DP card, we do a little happy dance. And every time we hear someone complain, we still do a little happy dance and say, F*ck ‘Em.”

So, what’s on the horizon for Dirty Pop Cards? Lam and Gale are currently looking towards the holidays. Knowing this is the time of year when more cards than ever are sent, they can’t help but see it as a huge opportunity to spread their particular style of holiday cheer. Some might think putting a dirty spin on a holiday card is offensive, and these two entrepreneurs are ok with that. Their goal is to bring laughter to the people who appreciate their humor and tantalize a curious few. They know one of their perverse pop-up cards won’t end up in just any stocking. They also know a Dirty Pop card is the best gift ever for the more vulgar crowd on the naughty list. And it’s this group of sordid folks they cater to.

Dirty Pop offers an array of cards that range from borderline obscene to ones that definitely cross the border. Their content is fresh, funny, playful, and, of course, downright crude. Are you looking for a unique gift that will most certainly be a conversation piece among lewd like-minds? Do you want to send a gift with crude shock value? If so, take a risk on the risque and explore what Dirty Pop Cards has to offer. You will not be disappointed.

Sugarfina Care Packages

Going back to school this year is different from every other year. Instead of loading up on pencils, notebooks, markers and erasers, students are logging into computers every morning to attend virtual versions of their classes. Teachers are also preparing in a way they’ve never had to. Online lesson plans and zero face-to-face contact are making it more difficult for teachers to engage with students.

Sugarfina, a luxury candy store specializing in candy for grown-ups, recognizes that struggle. Accordingly, they have put together care packages for anyone in need of a little bit of sweetness during this time.

The care package includes Sugarfina specialties like Peach Bellini gummies, Birthday Cake Caramels, Rainbow Bears, Pink Sparkle Pops, Cold Brew Bears, Peanut Butter Milkshake malt balls, Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels and Ice Cream Cone gummies.

Sugarfina is also giving away one of these care packages every day from August 17 to August 31. They’re encouraging Instagram users to nominate someone deserving of a special treat by posting a video with #TreatItForward.

Scott LaPorta, the CEO of Sugarfina, said Sugarfina was inspired by people sending each other candy during the quarantine period.

“Whether you’re treating a classmate, hard-working teacher, first responder, or fellow homeschool parent, this set is the perfect gift to put a smile on their face,” LaPorta said.

Sugarfina will also take entries into the “Thinking of You Sweepstakes” between August 20 and August 31. Anyone looking to share a $2,500 care package with a loved one can enter right here.

The standard care packages are $24 by themselves or $28 with a hand-written note and are available online or in Sugarfina boutiques.

Oakley – One Love

Today, Oakley® unveils a powerful remake of Bob Marley’s iconic anthem – One Love – as part of the brand’s 2020 For the Love of Sport Campaign. The official release aims to inspire hope and positivity during a time of uncertainty by celebrating sport, and how it can enlighten and uplift. The reworked verses were co-written by Oakley Athletes including Diamond DeShields, Ryan Sheckler, Oksana Masters, Caroline Buchanan and Ítalo Ferreira. This reinterpretation evolves the classic song into a modern-day love story, amplified by an official music video that showcases a dynamic display of passion and determination as viewers follow athletes’ individual journeys and the way sport has impacted their lives and the people around them.

American-born, British-Jamaican singer-songwriter, Celeste, was selected to perform the song because of her ability to convey a message through her soulful-tones and her mantra to create meaningful music that can make a difference. Most recently, Celeste, won the 2020 Brit Rising Star Award and was named the number one breakthrough act on the BBC Music Sound of 2020 List.

Oakley’s For The Love of Sport campaign honors one of the most universal passions – that of sport. During the writing process, Oakley interviewed those with an intimate connection to sport – its global network of athletes. In conversation, they explored the unifying qualities of sport through their personal journeys, including recent stretches of solitude and peaks of frustration. Their reflections revealed a commonality between them – sport’s ability to push-through boundaries, and overcome adversity, even during the toughest times.

“Sport has the power to evoke emotion, whether participating or spectating”, said Ben Goss, Oakley Global Marketing Director. “And the world is in a fragile place right now. By sharing what drives us and our athletes, this love of sport, our hope is that it can have a positive impact on uplifting the community during these uncertain times.”

The globally recognized One Love track by Bob Marley was a call for unity in 1965 when it was first released, and its message still rings true, 55 years later. The Oakley remake is part of a yearlong celebration of what would be Marley’s 75th birthday in 2020 and it preserves the song’s uplifting chorus and chords that inspired a generation, and refreshes the verses to captivate a contemporary audience.

“Sport, specifically soccer, was my Dad’s second love after music, and it brought him a great deal of joy throughout his life,” said Ziggy Marley. “The world really needs love right now, and we’re thrilled to work with Oakley on this amazing reinterpretation of One Love, so it can be meaningful to a new generation during a time when it’s needed most.”

Oakley’s One Love will debut exclusively on SiriusXM’s Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Radio channel during a live broadcast with a special introduction from Skip Marley at 8AM PST on August 11, 2020. The official music video will go live simultaneously on Oakley’s YouTube channel and Instagram TV and the song will be available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music.
