Justin Bieber – 2021 World Tour

Justin Bieber’s 2021 World Tour dates have been rescheduled in consideration of the Coronavirus pandemic. The tour, promoting his fifth studio album entitled Changes, was set to begin this past May but it will now start early June in 2021.

“I can’t wait to get out there and connect with my fans on this tour,” says Justin. “We’ve been through so much this year. More than ever, we’ve come to understand how much we need each other, and how meaningful these moments can really be.”

Individuals with tickets purchased prior to this update will be contacted by their ticket provider with further information regarding the tour and additional options if unable to attend the 2021 date, otherwise the ticket remains valid for the new date. All tickets from cancelled shows will be refunded, which can be expected within 30 days. 

The new accommodations for the virus mean that he won’t be appearing at any stadiums, but to make up for it Bieber has added 19 new stops in major cities like Boston and New York. New artists will be joining Bieber, rather than Kehlani and Jaden Smith, who are no longer available. New tickets will be available for purchase on Thursday, August 6th at 10 AM local time. 

The former teen sensation Bieber began his career at age 13, discovered by Scooter Braun on YouTube, and since then has released five albums, Changes being his latest. Bieber has sold over 150 million records and debuted number on Billboard 200, his fans’ dedication continued as he became the first musician to reach 7 billion streamers on Spotify. Despite having to reschedule his 2021 tour, Bieber’s success will likely continue in the future.

Feed Your City Challenge L.A.

The Feed Your City Challenge – founded by retired NBA star, Ricky Davis, and music industry legend, Tony Draper – will make the fifth stop on its nationwide campaign to combat the COVID-19 pandemic July 25th in the parking lot of the Baldwin Hills Mall at 2 pm PST. LA natives, Grammy award-winning multi-platinum producer Mustard, platinum-selling singer Jhene Aiko and Grammy award-winning artist Roddy Ricch, alongside local city leaders, will help serve the community fresh groceries and PPE items until supplies run out.   

Feed Your City Challenge has provided fresh groceries and essential PPE supplies for up to 10,000 community members via non-contact drive-thru lanes, following all CDC social distancing guidelines. The organization has produced community-driven events in cities across the country and served tens of thousands of people impacted by the coronavirus. Los Angeles will join the growing list of cities receiving support in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.   

With a simple mission statement, ‘to serve underserved communities, ‘Feed Your City Challenge’ will continue feeding those in need and challenge more cities to join. Previous events around the country included Norfolk, VA with recording artist Pusha T; Petersburg VA with recording artist Trey Songz; Brooklyn, NY with music executive Steven Victor in honor of Pop-Smoke; and Oakland, CA with Grammy award-winning (and Oscar-nominated), producer/singer/songwriter Raphael Saadiq. 

Challenge is focused on providing underserved and underprivileged community members with healthy fresh groceries, meat, and essential PPE supplies. The organization plans to produce these challenges throughout the country and spread their message for the betterment of families.

Meguru Yamaguchi × Oakley

Today, Oakley and Tokyo-born and Brooklyn-based artist Meguru Yamaguchi debut the Kokoro Collection, a range designed to unite athletes around the world through a shared Love of Sport.

“Kokoro,” a Japanese word meaning “heart; mind; spirit,” unifies athletes of all abilities, professional and everyday alike. Released on the day when the world’s best athletes should have competed on the global stage, the collection aims to inspire a sense of belonging and community in a time when the need has never been greater.

To further celebrate this message of unity ,Oakley is making a $200k donation to support the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the WHO, which works globally to prevent, detect, and respond to the pandemic.

Each individual product is completely unique, having been designed through a specialized spin technique utilizing a custom-made machine, which was made specifically by Oakley engineers to replicate Meguru’s style of brushstrokes.

Recording artist TMG FRE$H releases his newest single this week titled “Champagne Cry“, featuring Detroit rapper, Tee Grizzley. FRE$H brings his synthy vocals and parabolic lyrics about seeing his kindness being taken as weakness to the Audi produced after hours track.

“Champagne Cry” stands as the first collaboration between TMG FRE$H and Tee Grizzley. The pair take to the 808 heavy beat to show out for the harsh truth of the champagne lifestyle.

G4 Boyz – Prada

NYC’s G4 Boyz continues their ascent with a new video single “Prada,” out now via Republic Records.

Produced by FNR Beats (M1llionz, RV) and featuring UK grime affiliate G4choppa, the track is another certified banger from the duo. In the video the duo members Ice Baby and Buggy mob from the streets to department stores with friends including prominent NYC rapper Smooky Margiela, as they celebrate their African pride and love for luxury fashion.

This release follows their last single “Local Scammer” which has put G4 Boyz in a different league. Their first collaboration with FNR beats and again featuring G4choppa, the track quickly became a transatlantic drill anthem that also took off on TikTok and Triller’s global playlists. The track was quickly followed by exclusive remixes from rising UK rap queen Ivorian Doll and drill pioneer Chief Keef, becoming the first track to unite major players from the world’s drill capitals (NY, London, and Chicago).

Taylor Swift‘s surprise album “Folklore” exceeds 1.3 Million Sold Globally in 24 Hours. She announced its release to fans on Instagram in a chain of posts, describing how “Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen.”

In under 24 hours, Taylor Swift’s 5 Star album folklore sold over 1.3 million copies around the world. It also shattered “the global record for first-day album streams on Spotify by a female artist” with 80.6 million streams and delivered “the most-streamed pop album on Apple Music in 24 hours” with 35.47M streams. Additionally, folklore set the U.S. and Worldwide Amazon Music Indie/Alternative Streaming Record.

“Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the “perfect” time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed,” said Taylor.

This spectacular 16-song album was produced by Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff and Taylor Swift and features a musical collaboration with Bon Iver. Vinyl, CD and Cassette editions of the album will feature one bonus track.

“Cardigan” – the first official single release from folklore – is also released today. It is written by Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner and produced by Aaron Dessner. The accompanying music video was directed by Taylor Swift.

Though Swift was initially unsure about the release of the album, she says she came to realize that if “My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world.” Country singer turned pop star, Taylor Swift has had a long history of feuds and drama, but it appears she is putting that behind her on this album, as she did on her 2019 album “Lover.” “I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears,and musings into (the album)” she says.

NYC in Phase 4

While the better half of the country is riddled with a massive spike in coronavirus cases, New York City is in the fourth and final phase of reopening, an achievement that governor Andrew Cuomo calls a “hallmark.”

Phase 4 means that sports can resume, as can the entertainment industry. Venues like zoos and gardens can open at 33% capacity. People will also be able to visit popular attractions like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. These developments come as the U.S hits 4 million coronavirus cases and adds 1 million new cases in just 15 days, mostly coming from southern and western states.

Officials are not overstepping bounds however, careful to remain cautious after seeing the negative effects of early reopening in other states. “I want all New Yorkers to be on high alert,” said Cuomo on Friday, warning of the second wave coming. Indoor dining is still prohibited in the city, and malls, movies theatres, and museums remain closed. Perhaps most impactful is Mayor De Blasio’s statement that schools will not fully reopen. He says the decision will be made in September. He plans for a hybrid open, but the teachers union is prepared for a legal fight if schools are forced to reopen unsafely.

Chris Porritt × Rimac Automobili 

Rimac Automobili has appointed former Aston Martin Chief Engineer, VP of Engineering at Tesla and lead at Apple’s Special Projects Group, Chris Porritt, to the role of Chief Technology Officer. Chris will report directly to founder and CEO, Mate Rimac, with focus on future Rimac projects.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Chris has overseen the development of a number of bespoke performance and electric vehicles. During his 16 years at Aston Martin, he was Chief Engineer for the hand-built, limited production One-77 hypercar and V12 Vantage Zagato.

In 2013, Chris moved to California to become VP of Engineering at Tesla and then Apple, where he held a senior role within the Special Projects Group. His combined experience of high-end supercar development at Aston Martin, engineering electric vehicles at Tesla and his race-car enthusiasm, make him the perfect addition to the Rimac team. Chris joins Rimac Automobili from Apple. In addition to his professional journey, Chris spends his spare weekends and any free time building and racing his vintage race cars.

Mate Rimac, Founder and CEO, Rimac Automobili said: “We have started out in a country which is not  known for developing cars. We learnt so much through trial and error as it was difficult to attract people from other countries, making the process challenging but exciting. I can not imagine what our journey would have been like and how far along we would be now if we had Chris with us from the early days. However, as a car enthusiast through and through, who gets the “hands dirty” himself, Chris fit right in from the first moment. Chris Porritt, Chief Technology Officer, Rimac Automobili, said: “The opportunity to join Rimac Automobili is an engineer’s dream. This year is a crucial period for the launch of Rimac’s latest all-electric hypercar, codenamed C_Two, as the prototypes are built, tested and crashed for global homologation. The 150 production examples of the new car will be hand-built on a new production line in Croatia, beginning in 2021. All major systems and components for the C_Two have been developed and built in-house by Rimac Automobili.

The Rimac C_Two will deliver a 0-100km/h time of <2 seconds and a top speed of 258mph in final production form. These performance figures have been achieved through development of the original C_Two concept and subsequent prototypes. In parallel with the development of the C_Two, the Rimac Automobili business has continued to scale up, with Porsche increasing its ownership stake in the business to 15.5% and Hyundai Motor Group investing 80M EUR into the business. These latest announcements join a long list of already established partners of Rimac, including Koenigsegg, Automobili Pininfarina and Aston Martin.
