Playground Sessions x Quincy Jones

“Playground makes learning piano as much fun as playing.”Quincy Jones

The #1 rated online and app-based piano instruction software, Playground Sessions; Multi-Grammy Award-winning composer/record producer/humanitarian and co-creator of Playground Sessions Quincy Jones; and the world’s largest source for music publications, Hal Leonard, are inviting participants from all over the world to come together to learn how to play “You Raise Me Up” as part of the largest virtual piano recital launches today. As part of the “You Raise Me Up Global Piano Recital,” Playground Sessions will offer free lessons that begin today, and will include instructor-led classes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced players. New lessons will be released every day until the full song is learned. A 30-day free trial to the complete Playground Sessions app, and a newly designed ‘kids course’ available for 90 days is also being offered as part of the “You Raise Me Up” campaign. All levels of piano players will learn to play different sections of “You Raise Me Up,” in which participants will be invited to upload a video of themselves playing their parts to Instagram or Facebook using hashtag #GlobalPianoRecital, or to playgroundsessions.com.” At the end of the 30-day period, on June 16, all of the parts from the different levels will culminate in the “You Raise Me Up Global Piano Recital” – a video compilation of all of the recital submissions from around the globe which will be featured on the homepage of playgroundsessions.com and shared on social media.

Says Jones: “In the midst of uncertainty, I hope this gift of music can do for you what it’s done for me time and time again: shed some light, hope, and provide a space for expression when it’s difficult to find the right words.” Adds Larry Morton, CEO of Hal Leonard, “Music has the power to heal and to bring joy into our lives. We are delighted to support Quincy and Playground Sessions in this wonderful event.”

Says Chris Vance, Founder & CEO of Playground Sessions: “The song choice of ‘You Raise Me Up’ is reflective of a growing desire to provide inspiration through music. My hope is that people will take something positive away from the quarantine, and what’s better than learning to play the piano which can last a lifetime.”

Adds Brendan Graham, composer of “You Raise Me Up”: “In these times of great affliction for people everywhere, the ‘you’ can be each of us through what we do to help each other, to keep each other safe…to raise each other up. ‘I am strong when I am on your shoulders, You Raise Me Up…to more than I can be.’”

While people are mandated to stay at home and kids can’t go to school, online education is currently a top way to make productive use of time. People are turning now more than ever to learn music in a time of need for joy, stress relief, and creative self-expression as evidenced by a recent surge in the popularity of Playground Sessions. Playground Sessions is anticipating thousands of participants of all ages to join in – from non-musicians to advanced players, and even celebrity musicians. Tomorrow x Together Releases New Album

TOMORROW X TOGETHER (SOOBIN, YEONJUN, BEOMGYU, TAEHYUN and HUENINGKAI) released their new EP, The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY and the music video for its title track, “Can’t You See Me?” on May 18, 2020, 6 PM KST.

The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY carries on the story from the band’s debut album, The Dream Chapter: STAR and their first studio album, The Dream Chapter: MAGIC. The new EP sees the boys continue their journey of growth, encountering conflicts in reality and within friendships, all the while holding on to the wish that the moments they have spent together will remain for eternity.

The title, “Can’t You See Me?” is a trendy pop track about the end of magical moments shared with friends, a reality described as an “incinerated night” that triggers turbulent and confusing emotions from the group of boys. Unique sounds exude a contradictory charm that is simultaneously rough and delicate.

The music video for “Can’t You See Me?” continues where the video for “Run Away” from The Dream Chapter: MAGIC left off.

The members who visited SOOBIN’s house spend a good time together, but their relationship soon goes sour as their minor instances of mischief begin to build up. In the midst of a tense atmosphere, the five members’ delicate portrayal of contrasting emotions stand out.

The music video added a dramatic effect by illustrating the cracks between friendships through a house on fire. The sensational performances by the members that utilize a burning house as a background and vibrantly colored props, such as strawberries and tomatoes, together provide ample attractions.

Other tracks from the EP include “Drama” which draws on relatable struggles in friendship for teenagers in school, and “Fairy of Shampoo” which is TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s first remake with fairytale-like lyrics and rap written by YEONJUN. “Maze in the Mirror” delivers loneliness and earnestness during troubled times, and “PUMA”  compares a boy who meets a strange world to a puma that has escaped the zoo. “Eternally” sings of chaos and reminiscence on the search to find memories from the past. The EP contains a total of six tracks.

Particularly noteworthy is the fourth track of the album. “Maze in the Mirror” is the first song to be released that has been co-written by all five members. This track provides listeners with a glimpse into TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s growth as an artist with infinite potential.

It combines tracks of various genres including Funk Pop, Dream Pop, Trap Hip hop, and Alternative R&B, complemented by unique lyrics in a show of TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s colorful musical style. The title track’s powerful performance also demands attention, expressing abstract emotions with great depth.

The five members have attracted global fans with a variety of contents, trending worldwide on platforms such as Twitter and YouTube. The contents include concept trailers, two versions of concept photos, and seven music video teasers.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER released The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY and the music video for its title track, “Can’t You See Me?” at 6 PM KST. A live performance of “Can’t You See Me?” will be revealed at 7 PM KST through ‘TOMORROW X TOGETHER Comeback Show Presented by Mnet.’

Return to luxury in Israel

Tourism has been halted globally by the development of the coronavirus pandemic. The sharp reduction in domestic and international flights have derailed the travel sector and the hotel industry bears the brunt of this downward trajectory. However, Israel’s largest luxury hotel chain, Dan Hotels, has remained persistent in its effort to serve its guests through this time. The company’s CEO Ronen Nissenbaum explains, “We have been working hard during this period to ensure our guests return to the highest level of safety and comfort, and we have developed a detailed health protocol, covering all areas of the hotels and all meeting the strict guidelines set out by the Israel Ministry of Health.”

Dan Hotels’ premier property in Tel Aviv, The Dan Tel Aviv, has remained open throughout the pandemic while Dan Caesarea and Dan Eilat will also be opening over the next week. The rest of the chain’s 17 luxury properties will open their doors within the next couple months after a disinfection and cleaning process. Dan Hotels hope to hit their target to reopen all locations between the months of July and August. The chain has also developed an innovative app named ‘App to Dan’ which will allow guests to perform various actions during their stay without making physical contact with hotel staff.

The gyms, pools, entertainment venues, the Danyland Clubs, and synagogues will be fully sanitized to assure safety of the patrons. Certain activities for the guest children in the properties will be held outdoors. Breakfasts at the Dan Hotels, an integral element of the luxury of the stay, will remain as buffets, however guests will be shielded from the food by a transparent partition and hotel staff will be wearing gloves and face masks to fill the guest’s plates. Dan Hotels is pursuing its objective of providing accommodations of high luxury even in these testing times. It is imperative that the leading chain maintains its high standards to serve patrons in a safe way during their stay.

Lila Iké – The ExPerience

LILA IKÉ SHARES THE EXPERIENCE

HER DEBUT EP OUT TODAY, MAY 15 ON

IN.DIGG.NATION COLLECTIVE/SIX COURSE/RCA RECORDS

Buy/Stream HERE

The free-spirited versatile artist Lila Iké is quickly climbing the ranks fusing a genre-bending sound of reggae, hip hop and R&B. Today (May 15), the 26-year-old singer unleashes her debut EP The ExPerience via RCA Records in conjunction with Six Course Records and In.Digg.Nation Collective.

Lila Iké has become one of the most sought-after musicians to emerge from Jamaica right now. She can freestyle and sing in the same breath. Her lyrics are razor sharp. Her cadence is bold. Her vocals are angelic, forming a cosmic combination and force to be reckoned with.

She breathes a delicate testimony of love, infatuation, and spiritual guidance on her 7-track debut. The EP features previously-released hits such as “Where I’m Coming From,” where she reflects on her journey thus far over a trap-inspired beat produced by Kasadie “Caspa” Jones, and “Second Chance,” a romantic plea to her ex floating on a revitalized version of Dennis Brown’s 1985 “Promised Land” reggae riddim, reinvented by producer Alfred Simpson. Pivoting from the singles that earned her international acclaim in 2018 and 2019, Lila Iké unveils playful seduction on  “I Spy,” released last month and produced by Izy Beats (the hitmaker behind Koffee’s “Toast”). Beckoning with innocent flirtation over soft guitar licks, Lila in a sweet falsetto sings, “I spy I spy, that you see something you might like. Won’t you come over if you really mean it.” The ExPerience is lush with a wave of new anthems that tread through the thick, potent smoke of introspection and intimacy. “Solitude” relishes in silence and peace-of-mind in a sea of a wobbling bass and whisks of guitar and violin. On “Stars Align,” Lila flips the instrumental from Protoje’s “Bout Noon” into an anthem about falling in love through the metaphor of making music. The ExPerience gets under the skin, treading blissful and melancholy moods that are true to life’s peaks and valleys.

Lila Iké says her debut EP “is an experience of me, showing my versatility and the different tones, values and vibes of a woman. This is a mixture of songs influenced by reggae, but it does not define the sound. It has trap dancehall on “Where I’m Coming From” and soulful vibes on “Forget Me.” It gets sweet and jazzy on “Stars Align” and “I Spy” has this reggaeton and pop feel. It is a beautiful time for this kind of music to come from Jamaica, we are showing people there is no linear way of anything.”

Also joining Lila Iké on her anticipated EP The ExPerience is a cast of Jamaica’s most in-demand producers. Phillip “Winta” James, known for his work with Protoje, Nas & Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and Mortimer, produced “Forget Me” and “Stars Align” (along with Lamont “Monty” Savory). A trio of the island’s most promising young beatmakers, Ziah x JLL x Iotosh, are responsible for “Solitude.” Also, behind the boards is GRAMMY-nominated artist Protoje, who executive produced The ExPerience with Lila Iké, and is credited for crafting the sound of “Thy Will,” which is influenced by Sly and Robbie’s “More Baltimore.”

About Lila Iké

(Pronounced Lee-lah Eye-kay) Born Alecia Grey, Lila Iké grew up in the cool hills of Manchester, Jamaica. She and her three sisters were raised in a single-parent household by her mother. As the second eldest child, she had a drive and responsibility to push forward and provide for her family. Upon Lila’s relocation to Kingston, Jamaica’s capital city, the ambitious singer connected with artists like Jah9, Kabaka Pyramid and Protoje – leaders in what’s been called the reggae revival – each of whom she now considers her advisors. Protoje quickly signed Lila to his management company and label In.Digg.Nation Collective. After appearing as a featured guest on tracks by Protoje (“Flight Plans”), Royal Blu (“Believe”) and Koro Fyah (“Got it For You,” “Raggamuffin”) and on mixtapes by Addis Pablo and Yaadcore, she began building her own catalog of impressive solo material including “Biggest Fan,” (2017), “Gotti Gotti” (2017), “Second Chance” (2018), “Where I’m Coming From” (2019), “Sweet Inspiration” (2019) and “I Spy” (2020). Iké also was an x-factor on Protoje’s latest single “Not Another Word,” a power collaboration with Agent Sasco, released April 2019. Whether she was flying solo or rolling with Protoje, Lila has been tearing up stages across the globe. She embarked on her very first solo tour last year throughout Europe during the summer. She was booked on all the major reggae festivals, including a main stage slot at 2019 Rototom Sunsplash (Benicassim, Spain), the genre’s largest festival worldwide. Her and labelmate Sevana also joined Protoje on his sets at Reggae Sumfest (Montego Bay, Jamaica) and BRIC’s Celebrate Brooklyn! (NYC, USA). Shortly after, she opened for Protoje on his U.S. tour along the West Coast. Lila recently collaborated with PUMA Middle East and performed on their stage in Dubai at Sole DXB Festival 2019 in December. 2020 is a promising year for Lila Iké. Already on “Artists To Watch” lists and featured from the likes of New York Times, NPR, The FADER, NYLON, BBC 1xtra’s Hot for 2020, RELIX Magazine and COMPLEX, the singer is poised and ready to let you know who she is and where she is coming from. Get ready for The ExPerience.

Praise for Lila Iké

“…Lila Ikè wastes no time pushing Jamaica’s next wave of reggae forward. Admire the realness.” NPR
