Natalie Taylor x Martin Jensen

Today, Natalie Taylor has shared Martin Jensen’s remix of her viral hit song “Surrender.” The Danish DJ/producer isolated elements of the original to elevate Natalie’s vocals before adding his own signature spin. Listen HERE.

Originally released in 2015, “Surrender” has seen a resurgence since going viral on TikTok with over 1.5M videos curated to the song. The track has spent over four weeks on Spotify’s Global Viral Chart and has nearly 80M views on YouTube worldwide. Watch the official lyric video HERE. Earlier this month, “Surrender” impacted US radio and is now playing on Hot AC stations nationwide.

About Natalie Taylor:

Hailing from just outside Birmingham, AL, Natalie Taylor’s influences range from Americana legend, Patty Griffin, to classic country artists, Dixie Chicks and Jo Dee Messina. However, her “vocal training,” as she calls it, comes from 90’s R&B icons Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, and Destiny’s Child. Natalie has never paid much attention to genres and does not care to. That freedom allows her to be creatively fearless. Huge hooks, an impressive vocal range and true sincerity, coupled with the production genius of Natalie’s husband Jon Howard, former guitarist for Paramore, result in the truly organic, intimate, musical blend that is the Natalie Taylor sound.

The aforementioned elements come together brilliantly on Natalie’s “Surrender.” The track pairs melodic production with Taylor’s emotive vocals that build as she poses the questions “My love, where are you?… Can we surrender?” As “Surrender” continues to grow and tug at listeners’ heartstrings, Natalie is bound to cement her place as an important artist of today.

About Martin Jensen:

Still at the very beginnings of his career, 28-year-old Dane Martin Jensen has quickly asserted himself as an integral part of dance and pop music culture. With global hits like “Solo Dance,” “All I Wanna Do,” and “Middle Of The Night” amassing a staggering 1 billion+ streams on Spotify alone and with remixes for world famous stars like Ed Sheeran and Katy Perry, Martin has secured his place as one of Denmark’s biggest international musical exports.

Cementing his status as not just a producer but also as an entertainer and performer is his placement at #45 in the influential DJ Mag Top 100, after reigning supreme at some of the planet’s biggest and most prestigious festivals such as Tomorrowland, World Club Dome, Lollapalooza and many more. A driving force within dance music, Martin shows absolutely no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Gracey x Ruel “Empty Love”

The UK’s pop dream-girl GRACEY has dropped new single “Empty Love.” Featuring Australian star Ruel, the track is out today via Interscope. Written by GRACEY earlier this year after a frustrating, lengthy period of rest after vocal surgery, “Empty Love” is an upfront and honest commentary on the often-damaging pressures that come with social media. Told through the eyes of a 22-year-old girl with the world at her feet, the single is a straight-up pop anthem that doesn’t try to pour glitter on the truth, but instead deals in stone-cold relatable and deeply personal realities and sounds even more magnificent for that exact reason.

“Empty Love” also comes with a powerful accompanying music video which features both GRACEY and Ruel, from either side of the globe. It was created by GRACEY with two of the most innovative and exciting new London creatives – director Aidan Zamiri and visual effects specialist Dan Moller. Utilising a seamless blend of self-shot footage, 360 cameras and augmented-reality effects to bring the track’s narrative to life, the video (which has been shot by GRACEY in her bedroom) comments on the way our digital selves are crafted, presented and examined online. Working remotely from their own homes (be it in London or Australia), GRACEY Aidan, Dan and Ruel have collaborated to create an important visual statement about our on and off screen lives, shining warped and augmented light on what we share with the world and what we chose to keep private.

WATCH “EMPTY LOVE” FT. RUEL HERE

As the world continues to turn in ever inexplicable circumstances, one thing is sure; GRACEY’s seemingly unstoppable rise to becoming one of the most exciting new British talents is now well underway. For starters, her collaboration with 220Kid “Don’t Need Love” is currently gallivanting up the UK charts, after being A-Listed at both Radio 1 and Capital. Then from her own isolation, GRACEY has also quickly builtherself an impressive following on TikTok with the help of her 2020 single “Alone In My Room (Gone)” which itself has naturally become a popular soundtrack to stories of lockdown.

GRACEY was recruited at 16 as a top-line writer for Xenomania and she’s now emerging as an artist in her own right. With that comes its own pressure, and her brilliant songs tell the honest truth about heartbreak, social media and the fears and anxieties that come with bearing your soul with the world. Signed to Interscope, she is making a name for herself in the UK and on this side of the Atlantic Esquire has taken note including her “Different Things” single in their “Best song of 2019” list alongside Billie Eilish and Yola.

Her debut EP Imposter Syndrome dropped last year and featured the single “Different Things.” Cut from the same cloth as Sia and Lorde, the track is a forward-thinking and vividly atmospheric raw depiction of a relationship stretched to breaking point. It put GRACEY on the map as a solo art artist to watch in 2020. She recently spoke with Billboard about the effects of the Coronavirus shut-down on her just-kicking-off career.

TEYANA TAYLOR – MADE IT

Teyana Taylor, whose devotion to community and social activism has been a constant factor throughout her career at G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam Recordings, celebrates the commencement-deprived Class of 2020 in the inspirational video for her new track “Made It,” prominently featuring many of those remarkable graduates. “Made It” and “Bare Wit Me” (with its hard-boiled 1930s gangster-themed video), which premiered across all platforms today, are cornerstones of THE ALBUM, Teyana’s forthcoming new project due this summer.  A snippet from the red-hot “Bare Wit Me” dance sequence trended across Twitter earlier this week.

“Made It” is a very personal journey for Teyana, who never had a formal high school graduation herself.  She was already signed to a recording contract during those years, finished up through home schooling, and ultimately received her high school diploma inside of a Starbucks.  When Teyana’s production company The Aunties put out a note on social media a few weeks ago seeking 2020 graduates to participate in the “Made It” production, the response was overwhelming. Teyana is passionate about celebrating these grads who won’t have the opportunity to attend formal commencements this year. She praised the 2020 graduates on Instagram saying, “YOU MADE IT!!!!!!! Class of 2020 this is for you!!!! First and foremost, Thank you to ALL the graduates that contributed to the video! I truly appreciate you & happy to celebrate YOU!!! Unfortunately, this pandemic has stopped us from physically gathering and celebrating all the hard work you’ve put in through the years But this pandemic can’t stop your spirit, it can’t dim your light, and it can’t take your degree away from you!! So when you make it out of this dark time, shine bright and light up the world! Congratulations to the class of 2020, YOU MADE IT!! PEACE & LOVE! ❤️❤️❤️❤️”

Multi-hyphenate R&B superstar singer, songwriter, producer, director, dancer/choreographer, actor, fitness guru, model, mother, and Harlem native Teyana Taylor continues to gear up for the arrival of THE ALBUM.  “Made It” and “Bare Wit Me” follow up the March release of Teyana’s “We Got Love” featuring Ms. Lauryn Hill.  Prior to that were consecutive R&B smashes “How You Want It? (HYWI?)” featuring King Combs (Top 20 in August); and “Morning” featuring Kehlani (Top 10 in November).  All videos were self-directed by Teyana – aka ‘Spike Tee.’

THE ALBUM is the long-awaited successor to K.T.S.E. (June 2018), Teyana’s second album, one of the five G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam albums produced by Kanye West during his 2018 sojourn in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  K.T.S.E. (acronym for Keep That Same Energy) set off an 18-month chain reaction for Teyana, starting with its summertime Top 10 R&B smash “Gonna Love Me.”  She performed “Gonna Love Me” (in a medley with “Rose In Harlem,” another K.T.S.E. track) on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.  Hip-hop audiences embraced the “Gonna Love Me” remix featuring Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Raekwon, whose video was directed by Teyana.

K.T.S.E. spun off a hot new single and video for Teyana in early 2019, the explicit “WTP (Work This P***y).”  The video was nominated for “Best Dance Performance” at the 32nd annual BET Soul Train Awards. The third single from K.T.S.E. was the evocative “Issues/Hold On.”  After slaying the audience with the song live on Ellen in April 2019, Teyana was surprised on-air when Ellen presented her with the RIAA gold award plaque for “Gonna Love Me,” bringing it all full circle.

360 Magazine, Kito, "Alone With You"

Kito x “Alone With You” Music Video

After surpassing 3.5 million global streams on the track so far, Australian-bred, now LA-based producer Kito shares the music video for her new single “Alone With You” featuring AlunaGeorge – WATCH HERE!

Kito and her housemate, Rose Chirillo (who co-directed Kito’s last music video for ‘Wild Girl”), came up with the concept for this video as a way to show people that even though we’re all physically separated under current circumstances, that we’re alone *with* each other and dealing with these very unconventional times together. Check out what Flaunt already has to say about the video HERE.

The visual reflects the upbeat and undeniable energy of the song. It opens with AlunaGeorge enjoying a freshly lit joint in the bathtub before intercutting quarantine cameos from a cast of Zoom’ed-in friends & notable musicians, including Donna Missal, Cxloe, Jillionaire, Lao Ra, and L Devine. Of course, Kito also makes an appearance as she dances in a self-made bedroom rave! The energy of the cameos match Kito’s distinct production as Aluna’s vocals shine on the hook, “I can’t be alone with you. When I’m alone with you, there’s no telling what we’ll do.” The video arrives on the heels of Kito’s recent collaboration with Fletcher entitled “Bitter.” In addition to tallying over 2.3 million streams within the first week of release, it attracted fervent praise right from the jump.

E! touted it on The MixtapE! and wrote, “The rising pop star links up with the Australian producer for this perfectly pretty breakup anthem. It’s a bop.” Ones To Watch observed, “Cheating, lingering feelings of pain, and instantly infectious sonics make up the newfound duo’s meditation on the relationship that brought to life one of 2019’s hottest songs and rapidly rising artists.” Kito made her Astralwerks debut via 2019’s “Wild Girl” with Empress Of.

Climbing on US Dance Radio, it gathered 13 million global streams and incited widespread critical acclaim from Paper Magazine, Pitchfork, FADER, NPR, Refinery29, Stereogum, E! News, Vulture, Brooklyn Vegan, Triple J, Beats 1, and more.

About Kito

Producer/songwriter Kito developed her distinctive sound while growing up in Australia and later living in London, garnering worldwide notoriety by DJing and releasing music independently. With early cosigns by the likes of Diplo, Kito made the move to Los Angeles to focus on her artist project while still being an in-demand producer for artists such as Jorja Smith, Banks & Mabel. As a solo artist, Kito has already reached number one on the iTunes dance chart, while her 2018 EP Haani featured Elley Duhé, Kodie Shane, Trinidad James and Kanye West-producer Hudson Mohawke. She made her Astralwerks debut with the single “Wild Girl” alongside Empress Of, which is a top 10 hit at US Dance Radio. “Alone With You,” a collaboration with electronic music duo AlunaGeorge, followed in February 2020. After signing her first major label deal with Astralwerks, Kito exploded onto the scene with her first release “Wild Girl” alongside alternative pop star Empress Of.

About AlunaGeorge

AlunaGeorge are an Electronic music duo from London, consisting of singer-songwriter Aluna Francis and producer George Reid. The duo has amassed over 1 billion streams for their catalogue of Body Music (2013), I Remember (2016), and Champagne Eyes (2018). AlunaGeorge’s collaborations include DJ Snake, Disclosure, Diplo, Skrillex, Avicii, Kaytranada, Zhu, SG Lewis, and more.

About Astralwerks

Established in 1993 in New York City, Astralwerks was the brainchild of Caroline Records staffers who saw an opportunity for a label focused on the nascent electronic and ambient scene. Now based at the historic Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood, Astralwerks has emerged as a modern, artist-first label and the #1 market share leader for dance/electronic music in the U.S. Combining a scalable, independent and global-thinking ethos with the ability to tap into the resources of a major label has enabled Astralwerks to sign such artists as Illenium, Jonas Blue, Alison Wonderland, Eden, Zhu, and Alesso. As a testament to its pioneering approach, Astralwerks has amassed 30 Grammy® nominations, taken home six Grammy Awards, and had historic releases from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Swedish House Mafia, Halsey, Porter Robinson, Phoenix, Eric Prydz, Fatboy Slim, and many others. The label has also released such massive singles as the 5x Platinum “Happier” by Marshmello + Bastille and Fisher’s “Losing It.”

Fun Gifts with Custom Tote Bags

Buying gifts of any type can be difficult from time to time. It can be hard to determine what is best and where you want to go in order to buy your gifts. Because of that, you may be looking at your options and trying to figure out exactly what it is that you want to get your hands on.

Did you know that you could use tote bags as part of your gift? Or maybe even your entire gift? In this guide, we’re going to give you some stellar ideas you can utilize to make tote bags a part of a gift.

The Bag Itself

Sometimes, all you need to give is a bag that they’ll like. There are all sorts of custom tote bags out there, and different companies are able to do all sorts of cool things with those bags. So, if you have a friend that really enjoys some sort of animal or whatever, you can find a neat tote bag that you can personalize for them.

On top of that, you can look around for collectors’ tote bags. For example, maybe they love going to Disney World. Well, you can get online and look at all sorts of options that make it easy for you to find those unique bags that you can’t find anywhere else – and that will make the collector’s heart happy.

Movie Night Bag

Want to give your friend the opportunity to enjoy a movie night? If so, then you can use a tote bag to throw together a movie night bag, filled with all of the essentials. You can make sure that they get the movie night they want by getting them a gift certificate to Fandango, or to the local theatre, and put it inside of a tote bag – or you can go further.

If they’re staying at home (like many people are right now), then consider getting them a card for RedBox or some other online movie watching option. Fill the tote bag with their favorite candies, popcorn, potato chips, 20 ounce sodas, and a variety of other fun things that they’ll enjoy. Then, they can take that tote bag and have a ton of fun in their home.

Baby Supplies

Getting ready for a baby shower? Moms need all sorts of tote bags to stay on top of things! Because of that, you may want to go ahead and get a unique one that has all of the things that they may need when they’re taking baby with them on the go.

For example, you can fill it with some bottles, extra diapers, a bib, and other fun things. Or, you can get some toys that the new mom will be able to enjoy with her little one. Just have fun with it – the new mom will appreciate it.

Spa Day Bag

Spa Day is always a great time for people who are trying to sit back and relax a little bit. Having a spa day bag allows your friend to be able to enjoy a spa day, no matter where they are or what is going on in their lives. A good spa day can help them to relax and refresh, which is always important when you look at the big picture of self-care.

What can you put in your spa day bag? Bath bombs have become really popular lately. You may also consider getting items that can help them to have an at-home manicure and/or pedicure. Face masks are a must for any spa day. And, you can even get them some comfy slippers to wear while they’re pampering themselves.

Other Themed Options

There are tons of themes that you can consider when you’re putting together a tote bag full of items that someone is going to enjoy. Think of a theme that they like and then just run with it. You can really get creative with your gifts and make sure that you have all of the things that you need in order to make gift-giving a lot of fun for you and them.

The fact is, you want to have a lot of fun with it. There’s no reason to be stingy with your ideas – get creative about what you want to provide for people. You can find a lot of ways to give great gifts and, when all is said and done, you’ll have a great time with it all. See what’s out there and see how it can make a difference for you.

Memorial Day is a time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives in the defense of freedom. They are among our nation’s heroes, said Symphony CEO Natalia Staneva. This live, online concert is designed to help celebrate those who make us proud by their unselfish actions, their incredible spirit and their uncommon sense of purpose.

The virtual Memorial Day concert comes on the heels of the New West Symphony highly acclaimed virtual Mother’s Day concert, which was viewed by more than 5,000 people.  As with that concert, the May 25 performance is being curated and will come under the direction of GRAMMY-winner and Music Director Michael Christie.

Program highlights will range from patriotic favorites America the Beautiful, You’re a Grand Old Flag, America and others to Copland poignant songs Zion Wall. At the River and Simple Gifts to Bernstein

A bugler from the Air National Guard Band of the West Coast will close the concert next to the Reagan Library Gold Star Families Memorial Monument.

As with all performing arts organizations, the New West Symphony has had to creatively pivot its artistic endeavors to comply with state guidelines regarding social distancing and avoidance of large gatherings. To help music lovers continue to enjoy the beauty of music, each week Maestro Christie collects some of his favorite music performances including his personal video introductions and posts them on Michael Christie’s Jukebox. In addition, the New West Symphony is continuing to create original content and making it available online through social media, the blog and at NewWestSymphony.org.

We are looking forward to the day when we can once again gather in our concert halls for the shared experience and lifting of the human spirit that music uniquely brings, said Staneva. Until then, we will continue to find creative and engaging ways to bring the joy of music to our community as we together navigate these difficult and uncharted waters.

The New West Symphony is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary season. It draws its players from the rich talent pool of accomplished Los Angeles-area musicians and performs under the artistic direction of GRAMMY-winner Maestro Michael Christie. Sharing Housework in Quarantine

A multi-university research team, including Richard Petts, a Bell State University sociology professor, has updated a brief on how parents are sharing household chores during the pandemic.

“Men and Women Agree: During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Men Are Doing More at Home” found that prior to the start of the pandemic, 26 percent of parents reported sharing routine housework relatively equally with their partner, 41 percent reported sharing care for young children relatively equally (although physical childcare and the mental load of organizing children’s lives were by and large mothers’ responsibilities), and 42 percent reported sharing care of older children.

A little more than a month after the start of the pandemic, 41 percent of parents reported sharing housework with their partners- a significant 58 percent increase- while the percentage of partnered parents reporting equal sharing care of young and older children also increased significantly, to 52 percent and 56 percent respectively, the study found.

The proportion sharing in the care of young and older children grew by 27 and 24 percent respectively, driven by increases in equal sharing of physical care, monitoring, reading, and organizing children’s activities.

“Nonetheless, just the experience of having heightened responsibilities for housework and childcare during this time bodes well for men’s continued involvement in housework and childcare,” researchers said, “As research on paternity leave demonstrates, men who take leave, especially extended leave (i.e. two months), continue their involvement in housework and childcare over the long-term- even after returning to work. The longer the pandemic lasts, the more hardships most of us will experience. But, perhaps, in the aftermath, the patterns of domestic involvement men are establishing now will become a new normal.”

Petts coauthored the study with researchers Daniel L. Carlson from the University of Utah and Joanna R. Pepin from the University of Texas at Austin.

In late April, Petts and the research team surveyed 1,060 U.S. parents residing with a partner of the opposite sex to examine how divisions of housework and child care may have changed since March 11, when the World Health Organization (WHO) classified COVID-19 as a pandemic.

Researchers analyzed changes in routine housework, care of children under age 6, and care of children ages 6 to 17. Routine housework includes cooking meals, doing dishes, house cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping.
