Nothing But Thieves, RCA RECORDS, 360 MAGAZINE

Nothing But Thieves

Nothing But Thieves have released their bold brand new single Is Everybody Going Crazy? along with the lyric video via Sony Music UK/RCA Records. Watch HERE.

Is Everybody Going Crazy? is the band’s first new music since their 2018 EP What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way and their 2017 acclaimed album Broken Machine, which charted at #2 in the UK album chart.

Produced by Mike Crossey (The 1975, Arctic Monkeys and Wolf Alice), it is a fresh sound for the band that delivers in spades. Opening with a gritty rock riff, the track launches into lead singer Conor’s triumphantly versatile and intensely euphoric vocal, which builds into a frenzied dark pop chorus that is as at home on the dancefloor as it is filling stadiums. Lyrically it discusses a fractured, barely recognisable civilisation and desire for escapism.

The band say, “There is a quiet sadness about the verses. The character in the song doesn’t understand the world around themselves or relate to the people in it. What they once thought were the principles or morals they were meant to follow no longer seem to apply.  Others seem to revel in the lunacy. In a place like that, it makes you realise that you need something to hang onto, like an anchor. There are a few elements of escapism throughout the song, whether it is through another person, stealing a moment to switch off or changing their mentality.”

The past few years have been quite a ride for Nothing But Thieves. Amassing over 700,000 album sales and 750million streams so far, they have built up a loyal and wide following for their impactful alt rock sound, cementing themselves as one of the best current rock bands in the world. Selling 150,000 tickets on their last album campaign, which included their biggest UK headline tour to date and a sold-out show at London’s Alexandra Palace, and selling out their entire worldwide Broken Machine headline tour, their success has been global.

The band have performed on US TV shows such as James Corden and Jimmy Kimmel, after their debut became the bestselling debut from a UK rock band in the US in 2015 and played packed out international shows from Poland to Amsterdam, where they headlined an arena to 6,000 fans. After intimately debuting new songs at Tufnell Park Dome recently for a BRITs/War Child gig, they will be touring internationally this spring, including a show to 6,500 people at Moscow Adrenaline Stadium at the end of March.

Nothing But Thieves are Conor Mason (vocals, guitars), Joe Langridge-Brown (guitars), Dominic Craik (guitars, keyboard), Philip Blake (bass guitar) and James Price (drums).

California Poison Control Observes National Poison Prevention Week March 15 – 21

California Poison Control System (CPCS), the largest single provider of poison control services in the United States, is observing National Poison Prevention Week March 15 – 21, 2020. This year’s campaign – “Six Million Calls – Lives Saved – Tragedies Averted” focuses on the six million calls California CPCS has received since its inception helping to save lives, reduce ER visits and educate residents.

This year, CPCS is launching a new testimonial video with actual mothers who called the 800 number when they thought their children were possibly poisoned. The video includes an interview with Dr. Cyrus Rangan, assistant medical director, Los Angeles. In the video, Dr. Rangan also describes services offered to the public, including confidential response 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in more than 200 languages. Access the video link here http://bit.ly/3aQBHgM.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, every 13 seconds, a poison control center in the United States answers a call about a possible poisoning. Poisonings are a significant health problem in California, resulting in 226,000 calls to the California Poison Control System each year averting more than 61,000 visits to emergency rooms and doctors’ offices. While poisoning exposures can happen to anyone anywhere, about 80 percent of all calls are made from the home and nearly half of these calls involve children under the age of five. The most common causes of poisoning among young children are cosmetics and personal care products. (Note: Hand sanitizer is everywhere because of the coronavirus, and that has led to a spike in calls to poison control from parents whose children have ingested it.)

CPCS manages poisoning cases or questions related to medications, chemicals, drugs, work-related hazards and environmental injuries, as well as snakes and spiders bites and poisonous plants.

“It’s critical that information about how to prevent poisoning becomes more widely known and disseminated,” said Stuart E. Heard, Pharm.D, Executive Director, CPCS. “That’s why during National Poison Prevention Week, CPCS would like to remind everyone about the free preventive and life-saving services we offer.”

The CPCS toll-free number, 1-800-222-1222, is answered by pharmacists, nurses, and poison information providers. The number is available to all areas of California and callers receive expert treatment advice and referral in case of exposure to poisonous or toxic substances free-of-charge, 24/7.
The Poison Safety Education Course is an interactive learning tool designed to educate the public about poisons, prevention and who to call for help. Take the course at www.calpoison.org (also available in Spanish).
Choose Your Poison is a free online game (free iPhone and Android app also available) that can be played with the whole family! Can you tell the difference between pills and candy?

The Canyon Of The Eagles property is located on the scenic shores of Lake Buchanan, the largest body of water in Texas’s Highland Lakes Region. It is also conveniently accessible by car, just 90 minutes outside of Austin, Texas, and 25 minutes from the town of Burnet.

The big draw to this location? Its breathtaking natural beauty and the chance to escape the everyday and immerse yourself in a peaceful and recharging environment. Guests will enjoy quiet accommodations in cozy cabins on the property, styled with a rustic Texas Southwestern charm. While the cabins are equipped with modern amenities, including wi-fi, the only television access exists at the Eagles Nest Lounge, it’s Hospitality Suite. This encourages conversation and quality time with loved ones and at the same time, inspires communal engagement in ways often lost to the digital age.

On the property, guests can also start the morning off with a rejuvenating Yoga session, or a relaxing lake pontoon ride. If you’re looking to add some more adventure to your stay, there are many opportunities to get out of your room and explore the scenery. You might find yourself mountain biking on Burnet County Trails. Catch breathtaking views on one of the hiking trails. Rent a kayak, and go on a Guided Tour or a solo paddle out on the beautiful Lake Buchanan. Book a spot on one of the Canyon Cruises, a 2 hour sightseeing and wildlife watching journey with the chance to see intricate naturally-weathered rock formations and waterfalls.

Some of the most incredible parts of Canyon of the Eagles comes out when the sun goes down and the night comes alive. The remote location of the resort and lack of light pollution opens up the night sky in ways one could never imagine. Stargazing is a popular nighttime activity, and the activity can be elevated by attending the Eagle Eye Observatory, where an on-site scientist and astronomer can explain to you the constellations. Fireside chats are another evening activity, covering topics such as local snakes and other wildlife to watch out for.

Food and drink options are also plentiful on the property and nearby. Experience authentic barbeque delights from Opie’s BBQ such as mesquite smoked brisket and pork chops or make your way to the best breakfast you’ll find at Bluebonnet Café where you can enjoy 14 varieties of fresh baked pies — including lemon, coconut, fudge and more. The walking tour of downtown Marble Falls features a snack at Choccolatte’s, where you can enjoy premium gelato or if you would like to get a drink and relax, you could head over to Bear King Brewery. MusiCares® establish the COVID-19 Relief Fund to help people in the music industry affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

The Recording Academy® and its affiliated charitable foundation MusiCares® have established the COVID-19 Relief Fund to help people in the music industry affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak and subsequent cancellation of multiple music events. From hotel and bar gigs to major music festivals, COVID-19 is deeply impacting live music events, and the creative community behind it all. Administered through MusiCares, the COVID-19 Fund will be used to directly support those in the music community with the greatest need. To establish the fund, both the Recording Academy and MusiCares have contributed an initial donation of $1 million each, totaling $2 million. Additionally, all Recording Academy Chapters have committed to fundraising in their local communities. Further updates and announcements will be made in the coming days. Harvey Mason Jr., Chair and Interim CEO of the Recording Academy, says:

“Event cancellations are at unprecedented levels and the situation therefore requires an unprecedented response. Many people in the industry are now in crisis, not knowing what the future holds or having to deal with dire commercial realities. We are asking the entire industry to stand with us to support the musicians, artists and professionals who are the bedrock and the future of our music community.”

“It’s in times like these that many of us turn to music. Music can help us cope, and has the power to bring us together during a time when many of us might feel isolated. We encourage people everywhere to embrace the music industry which needs our help in these uncertain times.”

Steve Boom, MusiCares Chair, adds:

“The music industry is built on the work of musicians, artists, and music professionals. It is in times like these, that the industry needs to come together to support those who are struggling, particularly those who rely on touring incomes to survive. We know this fund will need to be significant. We will not be able to do it alone, and that’s why we are asking the entire music community including labels, streaming services, and anyone who is able to join us in this important effort. We’re all in when the good times roll, and it’s important that we’re all in when times are tough, too.”

“We’ve had a wave of incredible new characters over the last few years, and INFINITE DESTINIES will shine a light on eight of them,”  Editor Nick Lowe said. “We’ll discover new aspects of these heroes and villains in adventures with our the most archetypal Marvel heroes.”

Writer Gerry Duggan (Marauders, Cable) and artist Marco Castiello (Doom 2099) will then turn the focus on the fugitive known as Overtime in CAPTAIN AMERICA ANNUAL #1. After breaking out of death row when the Time Stone chose to bond with his soul, Overtime was gifted powers he barely understood. Now, thanks to Captain America… his time is up.

Each annual will also contain a chapter of “Super-Spy vs. Super-Spy,” a story following Nick Fury as the Agent of Nothing and Phil Coulson as the Agent of Mephisto — two brothers-in-arms who will face off and reunite for the first time since Coulson’s death.

Unusual Things You Can Bring on Your Next Summer Vacation

Going on a summer vacation can be really exciting and fun. One gets to let go of the daily stresses and enjoy themselves for a few warm days in the sunshine. Part of what can make or break the perfect summer vacation is how well one can pack and what they pack for the trip. There are always the essentials that everyone should pack on. But there are also some slightly unconventional items that some people might not think would be important for a summer vacation but they could actually prove quite beneficial.

Carry-on Air Conditioner

As much fun as being in the warm sunny temperatures while on vacation can be, things can get a little too much sometimes. Certain holiday destinations have extremely high heat conditions which can be unbearable for some people. One way to overcome this issue is to simply invest in and pack a portable air conditioner in your luggage. It might not seem like a normal thing to pack while you head out on your vacation but it sure can be a lifesaver. This useful yet ever so slightly unusual gadget is small in size and quite practical to travel with, so it won’t be too much of a hassle.

Portable Wifi Hotspot

Almost everyone nowadays has a virtual presence which they access through their smart devices every single day. If you cannot live without internet access and cannot risk your summer vacation destination not having strong enough wifi if any, then this might be quite a necessary item to pack on your next holiday. The mobile gadget would allow you to access the internet at your preferred speed like you are used to at home. You can arrange a good deal with your mobile carrier before you leave for your vacation if you are planning a trip abroad.

Dryer Sheets

Not many people would think to pack dryer sheets with them on their summer holiday but they can actually prove to be more beneficial. Some people would not like to admit it, shoes sometimes stink; it is a fact. And especially when you’re on vacation and you’ve been in the same shoes for an entire day of walking, running or doing any form of physical activity without getting a chance to change socks or shoes for a long period of time. This is where dryer sheets come in handy. One can simply put the sheets in the shoe and leave it there for a few hours to absorb the moisture along with any bad odors. A couple of hours later you’ll notice the quick results and you can say goodbye to smelly shoes.

Vacations are about spending a good time away from any routine and daily stress causers. Although, there are a few unusual items out there which you may not think can be helpful to pack on your trip but can prove to be quite essential when you consider it carefully. Do some research in advance to check the weather conditions at your vacation destination and pack accordingly. Remember to pack as lightly and efficiently as you can to avoid the travel hassles.
