Savage Ga$p

i hope ur doing well” sums up everything we didn’t know about Savage Ga$p. The multi-talented vocalist and lyricist wears his heart on his tatted sleeve in this compassionate ballad. “She moved to London for some other dude and I’m still lowkey upset,” he said, “but I hope she’s doing well.”

The release marks the beginning of his debut album cycle and the 21-year-old, born Gaspare Magaddino, has something to prove: “If you know me to make catchy growl-rap for the eBoys on TikTok, please find your seats,” he tells us. “Act II is about to begin.”

Coming off a year of huge Internet success behind his cross-genre indie smash, “pumpkins scream in the dead of night,” Savage Ga$p delivers a first-look at his array of abilities with this poetic love song. The self-proclaimed “King of Halloween” has found an engaged audience on TikTok with over 5 million  15-second video creations to his songs, which helped make “pumpkins scream” a Viral Chart-topping single with over 30 million streams.

By collaborating with close friend and lo-fi hip-hop mogul, haroinfather, on the recently released, 80’s hydraulic future-funk anthem, ‘Like Dat,’ Ga$p continues to prove he can’t be confined. And that narrative is only strengthened with this genre-bending release.

Savage Ga$p’s penchant for good vibes, politeness, and positivity is already the antidote to self-doubt for tens of thousands of fans. Now, the effortless poetry, breezy arrangements and sunny sound of “i hope ur doing well” will bring his musical literacy and grasp of internet culture to millions more in 2020.

Produced by Colliding With Mars, this is the first single off Ga$p’s forthcoming album to be released on Crowned Records, a division of 300 Entertainment.

The official music video, directed by ITSOKTOCRY and starring a puppet version of Ga$p, is set to drop in late February around an exciting EU tour announcement.

Tyson Fury has built a great brand but has it come at the cost of his boxing legacy?

Few boxers or even sportsmen for that matter have been able to generate the revenue that Tyson Fury has over the last 18 months. The Englishman has done what many thought impossible after he spent three years outside the ring and ballooned up to over 300 pounds in what was the darkest period of his life.

It was only after beating Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf that Fury’s life began to get away from him. Then a charge of doping that saw his license suspended proved to be the eventual straw that broke the camel’s back. The dark days, however, would pass after Fury linked up with trainer Ben Davison and together they began an exercise program that would see the boxer lose ten stone.

Before long Fury was back in the ring and after a few warm-up fights he was able to take Deontay Wilder all the way in a bout that was deemed to be a draw. It was a controversial decision as many considered Fury to have won, but regardless of the result, the world could see that Fury was back. Fury will, however, be able to right any wrongs when he faces Wilder again and this time he goes in as the favourite priced at 8/11 in the latest boxing odds. The boxing world will stand still for that fight but it was the initial match with Wilder that put Fury’s name up in lights again.

After that night at the Staples Center, the Englishman signed a five-fight contract with ESPN worth £80m. At this stage, Fury was more than making up for lost time and became the cover face of boxing yet again which prompted the WWE to invite him to make a cameo appearance during one of their shows. One thing led to another and given how successful Fury’s debut was, he ended up fighting someone called Braun Strowman in an event in Saudi Arabia.

Fury’s “purse” (it may be a strong word given that we know the WWE is scripted) for this fight was in the region of £12m. As mentioned, no one in sport has been able to generate the income that Fury has when the chips looked so down. The boxer is now a household name in the United Kingdom and America and currently, his stock couldn’t be higher.

At what cost has this all come though? Will Fury still have the same appeal to boxing fans after dabbling in the WWE? The money certainly won’t dry up but Fury could have sacrificed his legacy in the boxing world for the sake of his brand by linking up with the WWE.

The boxer himself may already be one step ahead. He seems quite unfazed about not being remembered as one of the greatest of all time when he can get the same payday in the WWE ring without running the risk of actually being hurt. You have to hand it to Tyson Fury, in the space of 18 months he has built an empire that will remain for many generations to come.

Is 2020 Going to be Your Lucky Year?

Are you the sort of person that believes in superstitions? Do you cross the road when you catch sight of a black cat? Do you think that by crossing your fingers you can create good outcomes?

Well, while these may seem like eccentric ways to either ward off bad luck or make things go your way, there’s a good chance that you can have at least a modicum of control over whether luck is on your side. That’s because there is more than just a grain of truth in the expression “you make your own luck”.

So, let’s start with that familiar object, the lucky charm. It may be an item of jewelry, an old coin or, if you’re slightly more traditional, a rabbit’s foot. It could even be a ritual that you go through to prepare yourself for what lies ahead. You might be surprised to discover that a number of psychological research projects have found lucky charms do work. This isn’t because they have any innate qualities, but simply by having them it puts us more in the mindset that we’re somewhat ‘protected’ and are, therefore, more likely to succeed.

See it, and it will happen

Positive visualization is a phrase that we all hear on a regular basis, particularly from sportspeople preparing themselves for a big event. While some might dismiss it as wishful thinking, there is a considerable body of evidence that it can be highly effective, In his book, Psycho-Cybernetics, Maxwell Maltz explains that what we are effectively doing is tricking our brains into making the unknown, known. And once we have dismissed the fear of the unknown, almost anything is possible.

On an even deeper, more neurological, level we are also resetting our brain’s reticular activating system. This is a filter that tells us what is important to notice and what can be ignored. By acting out positive visualization, it makes us more clearly focused on what really matters.

Practical, positive affirmations

Taking things a little further still, supporting our positive visualizations with positive affirmations can also help to create what we might otherwise refer to as luck. These everyday mantras can be used to shore up our self-confidence as well as to state what we would ideally like to happen. By setting aside a little time each day in a peaceful environment it soon becomes a habit – and once embedded in the psyche, we’re in a great mental state for good things to start happening to us.

Remember, luck does exist

At this point, it might be a good idea to take a quick time out from the advice on making your own luck to acknowledge that luck can really be random and strike when we’re least expecting it. When it does, there’s a real sense of gratification, whether it’s finding that parking spot when there seemed to be no chance, or enjoying a surprise win in an online casino game; the sheer pleasure that these things bring you, no matter how small, really does make you feel like the universe is on our side.

Do unto others . . .

Luck, or our perception of it, also has a great deal to do with the way that the people around us regard how we relate to them. So ace-ing that interview and getting that dream job may not just be a stroke of luck, it will have been a combination of your aptitude for the role and the way you’ve come across to the interview panel. At the most basic level, being polite and considerate will always be more favored qualities than brashness and rudeness.

However, if we broaden things out to include acts like being a good neighbor, and showing forgiveness to people who we think have wronged us in the past, then it becomes a kind of virtuous circle in which good things really do happen to good people.

For a healthy and happy 2020, be sure to follow these pointers, but don’t forget about the importance of easing the pressure off yourself from time-to-time. Remind yourself it’s ok to take a breath, relax, and have a much-needed glass of wine. Keep all this in mind, and  you could be on your way to enjoying one of your luckiest years ever.

Clean Eating Tips for a Fresh Start This Year

If one of your New Year’s resolutions was to adopt a cleaner, healthier diet, you should start with small changes. You don’t get to erase a lifetime worth of bad eating choices overnight so here are some tips that will make the transition smoother and will help you maintain a healthier, more balanced lifestyle from now on.

Make cooking a social activity

One of the main reasons why people cannot stick to a diet is because their closest friends or family members are not supportive enough. So, what better way to preach a cleaner diet if not by making cooking a social activity?

Host a cooking party every week and ask your friends to join the fun. Friday night or Saturday evening is perfect for trying out new recipes, playing with ingredients in the kitchen, and having fun with your besties. Replace the boring barbeques and fried chicken with grilled fish and veggies and swap beer for a fancy glass of wine.

Drink more water

As you age, you might not feel thirsty as often as you did before but this doesn’t mean you should forget drinking water. On the contrary, staying hydrated is the first step to eliminate toxins from your body and adopt a cleaner diet.

If you’re not exactly a fan of drinking those 17 fluid ounces of water daily, you can opt for other liquids. Light soups, unsweetened tea, and lemonade are also great choices that will quench your thirst and keep you hydrated at the same time, without having to worry about calories.

Plan your meals

Another easy trick to stick to your healthy diet choices is to go grocery shopping every week or every 4-5 days and plan your meals. Make a list of the dishes you want to prepare in the upcoming week and stick to the ingredients from your shopping list. Or if you’re a busy body, try one of many popular meal subscription kits available here.

Lean meat like chicken, turkey, and fish (rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids that are vital for your health) can be kept frozen for a longer time while fresh fruits and vegetables should be eaten 1-3 days after you bought them. Go to your nearest farmer’s market once a week and pick up fresh, organic ingredients instead of buying them from regular supermarkets. This way, you will support local agriculture and stick to your clean eating habits easier.

Make your own seasoning mixes

Part of a healthy diet means to watch your sodium intake, which means you should cut on the salt as much as you can. Luckily, there are plenty of other ways to season your foods to taste delicious without adding salt.

Make your own fresh mix of herbs and spices by mixing Himalaya pink salt or sea salt (healthier choices than regular refined salt) with cayenne pepper, rosemary, basil, oregano, sage, and a few chili flakes.

Grill and stir fry instead of deep-fry

Whether you’re from the South or not, few people can resist deep-fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, deep-fried foods are less nutritious and rich in bad fats which will cause you a lot of health problems, including gaining weight in the long term.

Healthier options for cooking your food include stir-frying, grilling, and steaming. A slow cooker is a great choice for those committed to changing their diets while grilling is perfect for a weekend afternoon spent with your friends and family. No matter your choice, you should also consider healthy ingredients such as more veggies and lean meat instead of your regular beef and pork.

Watch your sweet tooth

Caving into your culinary temptations is only natural and you shouldn’t be worried about it if it just happens occasionally. You can treat yourself with a cheat day every two weeks but you have to watch your processed sugar intake.

Eating too much sugar will not only make you hyperactive but is also dangerous for your blood, arteries, skin, and teeth. So, unless you want to check some reviews of denture adhesives before term and avoid cavities, replace your usual sweets with raw-vegan recipes or a simple carrot cake.

Staying Healthy While Riding Your Motorcycle – Top Foods to Eat

If you’re an avid traveler and motorbiker, chances are that you’re spending most of the day in the saddle, wandering from one corner of the country to the other. While this lifestyle may suit you and your passions, most of the times you will find it hard balancing your body needs with the long rides.

As much as you would enjoy the feeling of absolute freedom when the warm summer wind is blowing through your face going 60 mph, looking after your body needs is not a priority.

Ask yourself this – how often do you stop to take a break and simply admire nature’s beauty? How often do you stop for a full meal or a quick snack when you start feeling hungry? How many times do you stop for bathroom breaks? And how much water do you drink when riding for more than 5-6 hours a day?

Below you can find a list of foods that will boost your energy levels, help you focus better on the road, and keep you satiated without having too many calories.

Maple syrup

Before any long ride, most nutritionists recommend having a rich meal without being too hefty. In other words, you should eat well, pack on proteins and carbs to boost your energy levels but don’t overdo it either.

Maple syrup is linked to a series of benefits during exercise, including maintaining blood fluid levels that prevent muscle cramping. This ingredient is rich in minerals (mainly sodium and potassium) and electrolytes, keeping you focused while riding.

However, any excess sugars are bad for your health in the long term. Consumed in moderation, mainly before a long ride, in the morning, maple syrup can have a beneficial effect on your body.

Fatty fish

Counting for less than 1 gram of fat and more than 15 grams of protein per 100 grams serving (3.5 oz.), fatty fish is one of the healthiest food choices you can make before a long ride with your motorbike.

Salmon, mackerel, tuna, sardines, but also crab meat are full of minerals and fatty acids, including omega-3 and omega-6 which have strong anti-inflammatory properties and speed up body tissue repair. Fatty fish prevents muscular cramps while boosting your energy levels thanks to the high amount of proteins contained.

Fish meat also packs immunity-boosting minerals like copper, selenium, and zinc, meaning you will become stronger, healthier, and less likely to catch a cold from that strong wind.

You may want to eat salmon, scallops, and crab meat for lunch, especially if you have a long road ahead.

Real veggies

If you don’t have much time to stop for a full meal while on the saddle, you will need to make the most out of your snacks. Make sure to pack real fruits and veggies with you for the ride to boost your energy levels and be packed with vitamins and minerals that can help you focus more and better on the road.

Real veggies like celery, carrots, and bell peppers are the best options while on the road because they can last for days, even without refrigeration. They can be eaten raw, with only a dash of salt and pepper on top or by dipping them into hummus and butter for a snack rich in proteins and beneficial oils.

But no matter what you eat, you always need to take enough time off to properly rest and hydrate. Make sure to also check your bike before any ride and make any necessary repairs by lifting your bike on a good jack, like the ones found on YoungChoppers.

Calistoga—The Other Napa

360 Magazine Culture Editor Tom Wilmer reports from the town of Calistoga in Napa Valley.

Mention Napa Valley and the first thing that comes to mind for many is wine, world-class wine. The Valley has been producing fine wines for more than a century, but it really wasn’t until a cadre of Napa wines kicked-ass at the now legendary Judgment of Paris in 1976 that things started to go viral.

A bind tasting—that the French just knew would reconfirm their illustrious worldwide status, was crushed when Napa Valley wines rocked their boat. Napa Valley winners included Stag’s Leap, Heitz Cellars, Clos du Val, Ridge Vineyards, Freemark Abby Winery and Mayacamas. Chateau Montelena’s legendary Chardonnay led to the cool film, Bottle Shock that humorously chronicles the classic event. And the French are still pissed.

Today, Napa is a viral destination for wine seekers from around the world. In some respects Napa Valley has become a victim of its own success. During the height of the summer travel season you’ll likely encounter bumper-to-bumper traffic on the main artery, highway 29 wending through the Valley—and wine tasting fees sometimes exceed $80 per person—without a credit applied to a subsequent purchase.

So, the caveat is try and plan a trip during the off-season to avoid the lines and traffic. But there’s also a semi off the radar Napa, and that’s the town of Calistoga in the Valley’s northern reaches. Calistoga is home to the legendary Chateau Montelena Winery, and iconic health spas with historic thermal mud baths that date from the town’s post-Gold Rush roots as one of California’s oldest spa destinations.

A drive through downtown Calistoga along Lincoln Avenue is like taking a trip back in time. There’s a palpable Mayberry R.F.D., small-town feel that’s guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Outstanding is the historic circa-1868 Napa Valley Railroad Depot (California’s second oldest train depot), and ample historic architecture throughout downtown–with many structures dating from the late 1800s. A palpable bonus is the locals’ welcoming, and truly friendly attitude toward visitors.

Anchoring the heart of Lincoln Avenue is the Mount View Hotel that has graced downtown Calistoga with its Art Deco motifs since 1919. Hotel owner Michael Woods is such a passionate community booster that he donates 50 percent of the hotel’s profits to local and regional nonprofit organizations.

Woods and his family have gone to great lengths to seek-out authentic Art-Deco furnishings and lighting to maintain and enhance the hotel’s vintage period-ambiance.

Derrick, General Manager at the Mount View shows off the Art Deco motifs at the hotel.

A bonus of a stay at the Mount View is the full-service spa—with a modern twist on the iconic mud bath. Out back there’s an inviting swimming pool (heated year-round) and detached, quaint cottages.

Flanking the hotel’s lobby on one side is a sports bar, and on the opposite flank, the Veraison restaurant specializing in locally sourced cuisine, and of course, an ample wine list of locally produced specialties, including a selection of wines produced by restaurant owner, Dan Kaiser’s parents.
