DJ SNAKE RELEASES “ENZO”

DJ SNAKE RELEASES NEW TRACK “ENZO” FT. OFFSET, 21 SAVAGE, GUCCI MANE & SHECK WES

DJ Snake has shared his new single “Enzo,” a powerhouse hip-hop anthem featuring Offset, 21 Savage, Gucci Mane, and Sheck Wes. Released via Geffen Records, “Enzo” premiered today as Zane Lowe’s latest World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1.

Listen to “Enzo” by DJ Snake ft. Offset, 21 Savage, Gucci Mane, and Sheck Wes HERE.

Revealing DJ Snake’s deep roots in hip-hop and its enduring influence on his music today, “Enzo” features some of the genre’s most vital artists: Offset (of the platinum-selling, Grammy Award-nominated trio Migos), 21 Savage (whose critically acclaimed 2018 album i am > i was debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200), Gucci Mane (the trap pioneer and founder of 1017 Records), and Sheck Wes (a 20-year-old songwriter/rapper from Harlem known for his triple-platinum breakthrough single “Mo Bamba”). With its menacing beat and undeniable hook, the hard-hitting but hypnotic track also showcases DJ Snake’s boundary-warping ingenuity as a producer.

Last Friday night, DJ Snake teased “Enzo” as part of his explosive set at Coachella Weekend 2. During Weekend 1 of the festival, DJ Snake delivered one of Coachella 2019’s most-talked-about and instantly iconic moments by bringing Cardi B, Ozuna, and Selena Gomez onstage for the first-ever live performance of their massive hit song “Taki Taki.” The second global #1 record for DJ Snake — his first being “Lean On” ft. MØ, a 2015 collaboration with Major Lazer — “Taki Taki” premiered last September, and quickly became the ninth-fastest music video of all time to hit 100 million views on YouTube.

DJ Snake will be in Las Vegas this week for the Latin Billboard Awards, where he has five nominations including Crossover Artist of the Year, Producer of the Year, and Hot Latin Song of the Year for “Taki Taki” (with Selena Gomez, Ozuna & Cardi B). Five Steps for Prevention from Watson Institute Experts

The Majority of Children with Autism Are Bullied—Do You Know How to Help?

Children with autism face unique social and education challenges that require attentive support. 1 in 59 children is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Boys are four times more likely than girls to have autism. Autism affects all ethnic and socioeconomic groups. Autism spectrum disorder encompasses a wide range of challenges with repetitive behaviors as well as social and communication skills.

For students with Autism, school can be daunting, as they are faced with social interactions and not feeling accepted. Coupled with that, children with Autism are at higher risk for being victimized or bullied by peers. Nearly two-thirds of children with autism between the ages of 6 and 15 have been bullied—over twice the rate of children without autism. 65% of parents report that their child had been victimized and 50% report being scared by their peers (Issues in Comprehensive Pediatric Nursing (2009)).

These pressures can lead to refusal to attend school, anxiety or depression, and an overall decline in academic performance. This is borne out in the high school graduation rates for students with disabilities, which is only 67.1% (U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics), compared to an overall 84% graduation rate.

Clinical experts from the Watson Institute have five tips on combating bullying among all students, especially those with autism:

  1. Highlight individual strengths. Parents and teachers can be proactive by teaching children that it’s natural to expect others to be just like us, but the things that make us different are often the very things that make us special. Make a habit of complimenting students on their strengths—including in front of their peers.
  2. Widen perspectives. Teaching children to see things from more than one perspective is a key part of developing empathy. Help children connect beyond surface circumstances to underlying emotions. If a child makes fun of a student for not being good at something, ask them to reflect on something that is hard for them.
  3. Praise kindness. Children risk being teased or bullied themselves when they reach out to a student who is being bullied. It takes courage for students to act. Turn this perceived liability into an asset by applauding acts of kindness. This can be done individually, (“I saw how you stood up for Kyle and I’m really proud of you.”) and corporately, through public recognition or incentive programs.
  4. Get involved. If a bullying situation has developed, adult intervention is usually required. Leaving students to “work it out themselves” will often exacerbate or prolong a negative situation. Involve students and parents in addressing the situation. Approach the conversation with a problem-solving, not a punitive attitude.
  5. Provide support. Children can feel a range of emotions—from fear to shame and many more—when they’ve been the victim of bullying. Don’t assume because a child is no longer actively being bullied, that the situation is resolved. Make space for them to talk about their feelings and provide any additional support they need.

INDONESIA’S UNDERWATER UTOPIA

Twelve dive sites, seven reefs and five trips a day

The Anambas Islands are one of Asia’s top five tropical island paradises and one of Indonesia’s first marine conservation areas, a true ocean lover’s dream. Set amid this archipelago lies the secluded Bawah Reserve, a private island resort surrounded by crystal clear waters, jaw-dropping underwater scenery and stunning marine biodiversity – the perfect combination for ideal diving and exploring. Beyond the breathtaking beauty of the ocean, Bawah Reserve’s dedication to marine conservation gives divers a unique insider view of coral regeneration and transplantation efforts.

With twelve dives sites and six reefs, guests have access to miles of pristine coral formations which create diverse and dramatic underwater landscapes to harbor high levels of marine biodiversity. All dives, aside from the Refresher’s Dive, are outside the fringing reefs of Bawah. Here the waters are slightly cooler, the currents are a bit stronger and the fish are a bit bigger, offering a larger variety of wildlife and coral different than what is found inside the lagoon. Among other creatures, guests can look forward to greeting Bumphead Parrotfish, Emperor Angelfish, Eagle Rays, Green Turtles and the rare Blue Starfish.

Harnessing it’s deep connection to the ocean. Bawah Reserve has teamed up with OrcaNation and Discover Scuba Dicing to create unique diving experiences ensuring guests fall deeply in love with the ocean and its wildlife. Under the guidance of dedicated ocean experts, guests can take up to 5 excursions per day from morning, afternoon to night, offering a new experience every time.

Bawah Reserve offers the perfect diving experience for every type of explorer. First time divers can take an entry level training session designed to learn the basics, certified divers have a ‘refresher’ course to brush up on their skills, advanced explorers can test their limits with a unique 3-part Dive Rescue Course, and for the youngest of divers there is a  PADI Bubblemaker Program to introduce them to the concepts of scuba diving.

As an eco-conscious destination, the Reserve’s Bawah Anambas Foundation leads an initiative to educate and train communities and guests on coral reef protection and restoration efforts, including actively re-growing and transplanting the archipelago’s coveted coral. Even more, guests at Bawah Reserve have the opportunity to see these conservation efforts up close by taking their very own diving excursions to the coral nursery, guided by a resident marine biologist.

In addition to their new scuba series and coral conservation programs, Bawah Reserve offers a number of bucket list, ‘Instagram worthy’ activities, including stand up paddle boarding, see-through kayaks, snorkeling, sailing and hiking trails through and around the lush Indonesian jungle.

Bawaha Reserve’s deep-rooted belief in conservation, coupled with their sense of adventure, provides truly exhilarating exploration and diving experiences families and guests will look forward to revisiting and remember for a lifetime.

Austin Adventures Launches Independent Traveler Option

Travel trends drive travel experiences. Identifying a growing desire for maximum individualization and flexibility in vacations, veteran tour operator Austin Adventures has launched a new vacation option: a complete travel concierge service for those who want it “their way” — down to literally sitting in the driver’s seat if they’d like.

Austin Concierge is a brand new offering from the leader in global multi-sport adventures. Its target audience is the seasoned independent traveler who would like to vacation at his or her own pace, with his or her own friends and family.

“It’s your vacation, your way,” founder and president Dan Austin said. “You tell us what, when and where, and we put our 35+ years’ experience and extensive network of contacts to work for you to craft a tailor-made itinerary that you can simply go and enjoy.”

Austin Adventures is known for its small group tours and its ability to execute fully-guided custom trips as simple or imaginative as desired. Austin Concierge is one more way the company is seeking to make the most of their guests’ vacation time.

“We are proud of what we do — and nearly 99% of our alumni say they’d travel with us again — but we know that sometimes the packaged, all-inclusive, pre-set group tour isn’t quite what you’re looking for and a custom-built, fully-guided itinerary is not in the budget,” Austin said. “This is another option for the independent traveler in us all.”

Austin goes on to explain, “Savvy travelers want the perfect route with the best stops, the “just-right” accommodations and most unique dining, and the right mix of activity and relaxation — but with more flexibility and more time to do just the things they want to do. And if they’re totally honest, some would like to take the keys and drive, too!”

Here is how the new Austin Concierge travel service works:

  • By phone, email, or web form, you contact Austin Adventures and request a personalized itinerary just for you;
  • Dan or Carol Austin will schedule a complimentary 30-minute call with you to determine if Austin Concierge is the best fit for you;
  • If it’s deemed the perfect fit, you will work with one of the company’s most veteran trip developers to create a perfect itinerary;
  • A $500 trip development deposit (applied to the final cost) is made;
  • You communicate what, when, and where you want to go and what special things you’d like to do on vacation. Experts then put their 35+ years of trip building experience and network of connections to work for you;
  • They plan the route, book the lodging, recommend the restaurants, arrange the activities, and hire any private guides needed;
  • You have the ability to adjust the itinerary two times (without additional cost) during the planning process;
  • Once the tailor-made itinerary is perfected, and depending on how soon it is to departure, a final deposit or full payment is made;
  • Your itinerary is then handed off to you with all the detailed logistics and support materials. You depart on the set date and enjoy your finely-crafted itinerary. Austin Adventures is a phone call away for any needed support during your trip.

Is this new Austin Concierge service the right solution? Or would joining a pre-set, small group packaged tour, taking over a scheduled trip date as an exclusive outing or planning an all-inclusive fully-guided custom trip be the right way to go? This simple chart may help:

Vacations exploring the National Parks of the West are a signature specialty of Austin Adventures, but this new concierge service is not limited to just the US. The company prides itself on offering programs on all seven continents. See the newly enhanced and improved website and Austin Adventures Home Page for a list of all the destinations served.

Travel Agents are also welcomed and encouraged to book their clients on Austin Concierge self-guided tours with Austin Adventures. Net prices will be quoted with room for agent adjustments.

For more information, questions and help planning an Austin Concierge itinerary, please call 1.800.575.1540 or email info@austinadventures.com. For a full roster of Austin Adventures’ 2019 trips, cruises and distinctive accommodations on seven continents please visit www.austinadventures.com.

Top Performances of 2019’s Coachella Weekend 2

By Michelle Pisnoy

Stimulating music, giant art installations, over-the-top outfits, gourmet food, and more. These are all the things that make up the Coachella Music Festival. Coachella has a reputation for hosting a vast number of influencers and celebs, as well as music lovers that come from all over to enjoy the magic the festival has to offer. Here are our top 5 performances of 2019’s Coachella Weekend 2:

At number 1, we have Billie Eilish. At just 17 years old, Eilish has risen to the top of the charts, winning the hearts of the young and old. She moved the crowd with her eerie electronic beats and dark visuals. Her set opened with the popular song “Bad Guy”, which had fans screaming every lyric while jumping to the beat. Billie encouraged everyone to be in the moment while she performed and then took a moment to admire her adoring fans.

Next, was Tame Impala’s hypnotizing set. The stage was packed with fans waiting to hear the melodic charm and relaxing music Tame Impala had to offer. The visuals on the screen were psychedelic and took a trip through Tame Impala’s consciousness. As the crowd was vibing and swaying to every song, surprise guest A$AP Rocky jumped on stage to perform his song “LSD” and “Sundress”. The set did not end until their most famous song “The Less I Know the Better” re-energized the crowd.

From his now-trademarked dance moves to his incredible vocals, Childish Gambino’s headlining spot was clearly deserved. Gambino moved through the crowd, and even took a selfie with one lucky fan. He encouraged fans to get off of their phones and enjoy the experience, but didn’t make seem to make an effect on the crowd of cellphones recording his every move. Although Gambino didn’t bring out any surprise guests, Chance the Rapper made a quick cameo on stage.

Coachella should be renamed Arichella after Ariana hit the stage Sunday. The crowd for Grande stretched throughout the whole polo field. Some fans were waiting the entire day for the Queen of Pop to arrive. Although Grande returned to weekend 2 with significantly fewer surprise guests, she brought out a guest that would top all of the weekend 1 surprises. After a two-year break from performing on stage, Justin Bieber surprised fans with hit song “Sorry”. The energy of the festival completely changed. The crowd was dancing and singing, a few with tears in their eyes.

Lastly, Kanye brought his infamous Sunday Service to Coachella for Easter. The festival set up a completely new stage on the campgrounds, including a man-made mountain for his 9 am service. Fans showed up to the hillside as early as 6 am in the hopes of seeing Kanye. A powerful choir uplifted the festival goers as Kanye stood on a pedestal for all to see. Also spotted were the Kardashians and Jenners dancing along to his service. Special guests such as Kid Cudi, Chance the Rapper and Teyana Taylor all took part in the glorious moment.

Some might say that Weekend 1 was far better than Weekend 2, but what I say back is, did you see Justin Bieber and Kanye West? All in all, Coachella is a magical experience no matter what weekend you attend.

SG Lewis at Coachella

By Michelle Pisnoy × Vaughn Lowery

Electro artist SG Lewis had quite the weekend at Coachella.

As of late, 360 Magazine interviewed the 24-year-old British producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He spoke to us about performing Weekend 1 and was ecstatic that the Mojave tent was at capacity during his performance.

In 2016, Lewis performed at Coachella and was excited to see the upgraded platforms. “The Yuma tent has really quadrupled in size,” he states. “I played a DJ set at the Yuma Tent in 2016, and now it’s like a full-blown Berlin club in there.”

SG Lewis just released his second song with Clairo, “Throwaway,” which now boasts 5 million+ streams on Spotify. “She is one of my favorite people to work with and a genuine friend of mine,” Lewis recites. “The second song wasn’t premeditated. We were just in the studio and ‘Throwaway’ happened naturally and it fit perfectly into Dawn.”

The following single collaboration is set to feature RUEL. “RUEL is a 17-year-old Australian guy who is hugely talented,” SG says. “He has a really soulful voice,” he added.

For the first time, Lewis played the new track “Flame” for Weekend 2 concertgoers.
