In partnership with Macy’s, the 2019 SAY YES TO THE PROM Tour Kicks Off in Silver Spring, MD, with Stops in Knoxville, TN, Los Angeles, CA, Denver, CO, and New York, NY

TLC’s SAY YES TO THE PROM initiative is back for the eighth consecutive year and kicking off the 2019 prom season alongside returning retail partner Macy’s to help 1,000 underserved and deserving students across the country find the perfect prom look. Travelling to five different cities, SAY YES TO THE PROM will create the ultimate prom “shopping” experience, complete with one-on-one style sessions with Monte Durham of TLC’s SAY YES TO THE DRESS: ATLANTA to help the students find the perfect dress, tuxedo and accessories.

Each of these 1,000 deserving students will be treated to a full shopping day alongside Durham. Young ladies will receive the prom dress of their choice, as well as shoes from NinaBlue by Betsey JohnsonJewel Badgley Mischka and Adrianna Papell, all provided by Macy’s. To complete their prom ensembles, they will be able to frost themselves with Kendra Scott earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Young menwill be furnished with a complete tuxedo rental from Men’s Wearhouse. Stylists from Paul Mitchell Schools will help participants cultivate their personal prom style by providing hair and makeup consultations.

The SAY YES TO THE PROM tour will begin in February in Silver Spring, MD, and continue in March with stops in Knoxville, TN, Los Angeles, CA, Denver, CO, and ending in New York, NY. Each stop along the tour will feature an all-day “shopping” event to outfit participating students with the perfect head-to-toe prom ensemble. Beyond these local events, the specially designed line of SAY YES TO THE PROM dresses and accessories are currently available for purchase in Macy’s stores nationwide and online for the fourth consecutive year.

Mat Kerekes “Diamonds” and North American Tour

Toledo, OH singer-songwriter Mat Kerekes has shared “Diamonds”, the anthemic second single off his forthcoming solo album, expected later this year. Best known as lead vocalist of celebrated alt rock band Citizen, Kerekes presents his softer side and showcases his versatility as a singer-songwriter on his new solo material. Lord Huron Announces 2019 North American Summer Tour

This summer, Lord Huron make their much-anticipated return to the road in North America with a string of new tour dates.

The critically-acclaimed Los Angeles band launches this headline run on July 14 in Indianapolis, IN and wraps up on August 11 in Redmond, WA. The tour crosses the country and takes the band into their largest venues to date, including Los Angeles’ famed Hollywood Bowl, Columbia, MD’s The Chrysalis at Merriweather Park and The Chicago Theatre.

Seth L. Sherman, MD, a sports medicine orthopaedic surgeon at University of Missouri Health Care’s Missouri Orthopaedic Institute, recently became one of the first American surgeons to enroll patients in a clinical research study aimed at earning FDA approval for a new knee-cartilage implant.

Agili-C™ (CartiHeal, Israel) is a new implant designed to help patients with knee-cartilage defects regenerate their own healthy cartilage. The implant has been shown to be safe and effective in a series of clinical trials previously conducted in Europe and Israel. Sherman is one of 15 primary investigators in the United States conducting the FDA-approved study, which is the final step before earning FDA approval for the implant.

“We are thrilled to be on the leading edge of orthopaedic sports medicine and joint preservation,” Sherman said. “In the U.S., there are limited options for off-the-shelf cartilage repair that can be performed during a single surgical procedure. Benefits of this technology include its relative low cost, ease of use, and strong basic science and clinical track record.”

Cartilage damage is a common knee problem that occurs in patients of all ages. It can happen as a result of an injury, like a blow to the knee, or due to wear and tear over time. In any case, it causes knee swelling, stiffness and pain that can reduce function and decrease quality of life.

The Agili-C™ implant is a cell-free implant made of the inorganic exoskeleton of sea coral. The implant can be used in this study to treat a variety of cartilage defects and patient types, which is another reason it is attractive to orthopaedic surgeons.

“Often in studies like this one, we can enroll only a very strict subset of young, active patients with a single, isolated cartilage defect,” said Sherman. “In reality, that’s not the type of patient we see every day. This implant is different because it’s medically indicated for a wide range of situations, including patients with multiple cartilage defects and even those with mild to moderate osteoarthritis. We can use it in patients who are in their 20s or in those who are in their 60s. This versatility allows us to find more patients who may benefit from this procedure.”

Those who qualify for the study are randomly assigned either one of the traditional surgical options or the new implant. So far, Sherman has enrolled four patients in the study. He plans to enroll at least 25 before submitting his research to the FDA.

The implant is manufactured by CartiHeal, a medical device company headquartered in Kfar Saba, Isreal and Closter, New Jersey. To date, more than 400 patients in Europe and Israel — where the device has already been approved — have received the new implant. The Agili-CTM implant is not available for sale in the United States. It is an investigational device limited for use in the device study.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Beverly Hills hosted the Fourth Annual Lunar New Year: Year of the Pig Celebration presented by The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, Asian Business Connection Committee at the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and McLaren Beverly Hills Showroom. American Idol winner Maddie Poppe has released her single, ‘First Aid Kit,’ out now, her third single since winning Idol.

“On My Way” is the first new music since last summer’s sophomore effort Watching the Sky (June 8, 2018 via Empire of Song/Decca Records/Republic Records) which rocketed to the top of the charts globally, earning them their first #1 on the ARIA Album Chart in their home country of Australia and hitting Top 10 on the US iTunes Pop Charts. Watching the Sky spawned global smash “Coming Home,” which climbed to #1 on the AIRcharts and went double platinum in Australia while taking over radio charts across Europe and Mexico. TOYOTA SUPRA

Sports car enthusiasts have been waiting more than 20 years for the return of Supra and will soon be able to purchase the 2020 Toyota GR Supra for a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $49,990.

For those fans and collectors anxious to be among the first owners of this iconic sports car, the initial 1,500 production Supras for the U.S. will be Launch Edition models starting at $55,250. Each will be uniquely numbered and have distinctive features signifying the exclusivity and excitement of Supra’s return. Toyota dealers will be handling all orders and the Launch Edition models go on sale in Summer 2019 starting at $55,250.

The Supra Launch Edition will be available in exterior colors of Absolute Zero White, Nocturnal Black or Renaissance Red 2.0, each featuring high-contrast red mirror caps and 19-inch forged matte black alloy wheels.

The Absolute Zero White and Nocturnal Black Supra Launch Editions will have a red interior. Each of the racing-inspired seats will be wrapped in red leather, with red leather steering wheel grips, and a red center console with carbon-fiber accents.

The Renaissance Red 2.0 Supra Launch Edition will feature a black leather-trimmed interior, with black seats, a black steering wheel, and black center console. The black interior will also feature carbon-fiber accents.

The first 1,500 Supras will feature an individually numbered carbon-fiber badge on the passenger-side dashboard complete with a graphic of Toyota Motor Corporation President and Master Driver Akio Toyoda’s signature.

Different Grades, Same Power

The 2020 Supra will be available in two grades: 3.0 and 3.0 Premium. Both will be powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine that produces 335 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with racing-style paddle shifters. Both grades will also come standard with serious performance features including adaptive suspension, an active rear differential and launch control.

The 3.0 grade has a 6.5-inch display with Bluetooth and iPod capability, as well as Alcantara seats. Navigation and JBL Audio will be an available option for an additional $2,460.

The 3.0 Premium grade will feature an upgraded 8.8-inch wide-format touchscreen display with Navigation, Supra Connect telematics services, wireless Apple CarPlay, a premium 12-speaker JBL audio system, wireless phone charging and a color Head-Up Display. The 3.0 Premium grade will also feature heated, leather-trimmed seats.

The Supra Launch Edition will be based on the 3.0 Premium grade.

Standard safety features on both grades, as well as the Launch Edition, include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, road sign assist and automatic high beams.

The Driver Assist Package is an additional suite of safety features that will be optional on both grades for an additional $1,195. It includes full speed adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, parking sonar and rear collision warning.

The Very First One

The first production 2020 Toyota GR Supra to roll off the assembly line, “Global #1,” was auctioned for charity this evening for $2.1 million at the 48th Annual Barrett-Jackson Auction at WestWorld of Scottsdale. All proceeds of the fifth-generation GR Supra, which made its world debut on January 14, 2019 during the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, went to support the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF).
