Just in time for Valentines Day, Los Angeles native and creative chanteuse QUIN has today premiered a new loved up single; “Mushroom Chocolate” featuring artist 6LACK. The dulcet tones of both artists play off the shimmering R&B beat – produced by Chuck Inglish – which is fast becoming a signature for QUIN on her quest to crafting her “fantasy soul” lane. The song is off QUIN’s upcoming EP, LUCID, which will be out this Spring officially on Interscope Records; who the singer/songwriter announced her label deal with recently. Speaking to the song’s inspiration, QUIN says “‘Mushroom Chocolate’ is the classic tale of a hard loving crush, the beginning of meeting your match, and how we all be acting a little brand new about it.” 6LACK adds: “The song was already perfect without me, but being able to add to it was like filling in the easiest blank. She gave you every word you needed to feel good about love and I’m just a familiar voice in a brand new setting.” The song debuted today as Zane Lowe’s “World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1 and can be listened to across DSPs here.

Today, Chicago-born and Los Angeles-based songstress Monica Martin releases her new single “Patient” via Republic Records.

“Patient” exclusively premiered on Consequence of Sound, who said, “The track finds the former PHOX frontwoman trying to find strength in pushing a loved one away while pop piano melodies sadly sway under constantly building alt-folk orchestration.” The song, produced by Jon Green (James Bay, Paloma Faith) and featuring noteworthy musician Ian Fitchuk (producer of Kacey Musgraves’ Grammy Award-winning album Golden Hour), marries acoustic guitars and steady beats. Blurring the lines between pop, alternative and folk, the lyrics evoke an emotional plea, “You’re going to have to be patient with me.” “Patient” follows her previously released singles “Thoughtless” and “Cruel.”

Of the track Monica Martin notes, “We all are on respective journeys to unpack mental baggage and needing to create that space while in a relationship can be really tough…especially when someone wants to feel needed, you can be perpetually soothed, and while that feels great and all, that limits you from forging healthy mental pathways for yourself. ‘Patient’ is a song asking for space; I want to be my best so my relationship isn’t about co-dependence.”

Kicking off what promises to be a breakout year, Monica continues to attract widespread critical praise. The 405 recently praised her “songwriting that’s undeniably truthful,” meanwhile, Flaunt claimed, “Her bewitched alto resonance sets a mood while lyrics document her inner confusions from past and present relationships.”

Monica Martin has bewitched listeners everywhere with a quirky and quixotic take on pop since 2012. She fronted PHOX as the group became an indie phenomenon whose resume included prime festival spots and late-night television appearances. blackbear Releases “1 SIDED LOVE”

Written and produced by blackbear, Joe Kirkland (Dua Lipa), and Jurek, “1 SIDED LOVE” is the first track to be released from the singer, songwriter, and producer’s upcoming new album, ANONYMOUS, which will be released by Beartrap/Alamo/Interscope Records on April 26.

Blackbear ended 2018 with a sold-out show at the Palladium in Los Angeles. He spent much of last year in the studio working on ANONYMOUS, which follows 2017’s cybersex. Born Matthew Musto, blackbear put out three independent albums (2015’s Deadroses and Help and 2017’s digital druglord) prior to cybersex. In addition, he released a self-titled album with his hip-hop duo mansionz in early 2017. Featured on the certified Gold digital druglord, “do re mi” became blackbear’s first single to crack the Billboard Hot 100; the track has since gone double platinum. A remix of “do re mi” featuring Gucci Mane was released in July 2017, and reached No. 5 at Rhythmic and No. 26 at Top 40 radio. NETSKY Releases “I Don’t Even Know You Anymore”

Today, award-winning globally renowned electronic music producer NETSKY releases the brand-new single “I Don’t Even Know You Anymore” ft. Bazzi & Lil Wayne via Republic Records and Casablanca Records.

About the release, NETSKY said, “As soon as I heard Bazzi’s topline I knew it was special. We ended up doing a few different versions of the song before we found the production that felt perfect. It turns out it had always been a dream of both of ours to work with Lil Wayne and we couldn’t think of anyone we’d rather have to jump on the track and complete the song. I’m excited for the world to hear what we’ve done together.”

“I Don’t Even Know You Anymore” is the third installment from forthcoming Palmtrees & Powerlines, the two-part project that explores both NETSKY’s magnetic brand of pop music (on Palmtrees) and his genre-bending innovation as a creator of club tracks (on Powerlines).  Each song from Palmtrees & Powerlines will find a place within one of these two worlds NETSKY has built.  “I Don’t Even Know You Anymore” continues to build upon Palmtrees, alongside the previously released “Téquila Limonada” feat. A.CHAL.  While last fall NETSKY released “Ice Cold” with David Guetta, which finds its home in Powerlines.

Eco-tourism: the sexy growing trend in travel

Traveling the world, while saving the planet – sounds too good to be true. Yet, eco-tourism – travel intended to support conservation efforts while enjoying nature – dates back to the 70s and has been growing in popularity in recent years.

The trend’s resurgence takes shape as sustainability and green living are becoming the buzzwords of the 21st century. So much so that a recent study shows that responsible travel is outpacing overall growth in the trillion-dollar-plus tourism industry.

Many are skeptical of the recent boom in eco-tourism’s popularity, questioning the motives of travelers journeying to obscure places through programs that conserve sea turtles, whales, even rhinos and chimpanzees. However, no matter the rationale behind travelers’ decisions to book an eco-driven trip, the positive outcome of these programs on the environment is undeniable, when properly organized. By simply traveling to the world’s parks and reserves, tourists are helping to protect those wilderness areas by paying park fees and contributing to a local economy that supports conservation efforts. For more adventurous travelers, however, there are charitable opportunities for scuba divers and nature explorers alike to get involved while taking a well-deserved getaway.

Expeditioners can dive into the epicenter of global marine biodiversity aboard a liveaboard ship in Raja Ampat, explore the “soft coral capital of the world” in Fiji, or travel to Kenya and gain an insider’s look at wildlife conservation in the savannas and seas of the region.

Last year alone, Oceanic Society, America’s oldest non-profit organization dedicated to ocean conservation, saw more than 1,400 hours of conservation-related volunteering logged by its travelers.

Founded in 1969, the organization leads more than 40 trips annually, with destinations across 16 countries, to ensure there is a trip for any interested traveler to help improve ocean health by deepening their connections with nature.
