Shaylen Debut Single “El Dorado”

Los Angeles-based pop vocalist and songwriter Shaylen makes her debut with her single “El Dorado” out now via Republic Records.

Listen HERE now!

Inspired by the myth of Colombia’s Lost City Of Gold, Shaylen says “El Dorado” is “about a man in search of the city of gold. I am the gold.”

She continues, “Sometimes I need a reminder that I’m dope, so I wrote this song because we all need that. This song is about feeling like gold.”

Hailing from Dallas, TX, vocalist and songwriter Shaylen is both equal parts veteran and neophyte to the music industry. A former pop group member turned solo star, Shaylen became classically trained in piano and took master classes at the world renowned Septien Entertainment Group (home to other superstars like Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato); and after a short-lived stunt in a successful global touring group Shaylen found herself moving to Los Angeles to re-start her music career. While working multiple jobs and pushing out her music on social media, she began to create a sizable buzz in the industry. But it was through her songwriting and producing skills that she found her true identity, inking a publishing contract and collaborating with up and coming EDM producers on Soundcloud. Fast forward to a major deal with Republic Records, Shaylen’s debut single, “El Dorado,” is the story of a rising powerhouse who is back…for the very first time.

Jeremy Zucker “Summer” EP

Multi-talented, Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter and producer Jeremy Zucker’s latest EP summer, is out now—listen HERE. summer, features Zucker’s latest tracks, “thinking 2 much” and “comethru.”

Zucker is currently on his first-ever North American headline tour, the “anything, anywhere tour,” which is completely sold out. See the remaining dates below.

Growing up in suburban New Jersey, 22-year-old singer, songwriter and producer Jeremy Zucker has always been surrounded by music. As a child, he took piano and guitar lessons and formed a band with two friends from elementary school. By high school, he was writing lyrics and producing songs for other people. Eventually, Zucker recorded a rough demo, which became his first real release beach island in the summer of 2015. He followed it with breathe in the fall of that same year as a freshman at Colorado College pursuing a degree in Molecular Biology. He cranked out songs in his dorm room and released them over Soundcloud—one every week. He later transferred them over to Spotify, where breathe’s lead single “Bout It” became the catalyst, hitting Spotify’s Discover Weekly playlist.

From there Zucker released motions in 2017 and performed at his first sold-out show at The Studio of Webster Hall that summer. Following the massive streaming success of his 2017 single “talk is overrated” featuring blackbear, 2018’s intensely personal EP glisten delivered the groundbreaking song “all the kids are depressed,” the first widespread glimpse into Zucker’s songwriting ethos. The track has over 30 million Spotify streams to date and its powerful video, directed by Drew Kirsch (Felix Jaehn, blackbear, Louis the Child, Quinn XCII), has over 5 million views to date. In May, he graduated from Colorado College and put his degree aside to finally pursue his dream of making music. As Zucker enters this next phase of his career, he brings a new love letter to life that fans will undoubtedly connect with.

D.C.’s Beau Young Prince Drops New Single and Video

Washington, DC rapper Beau Young Prince, whose cool demeanor leveled his hometown audience at last weekend’s Trillectro Festival, has released “Price– the hotly awaited follow-up to his debut single “Kill Moe.”

His first EP, Groovy Land will be released on October 5th via Def Jam Recordings and includes a remix of “Kill Moe” featuring Shy Glizzy.

About the Artist..

Beau Young Prince, a self-described “Southside kid with a North Side education” bred in urban Southeast DC, attended one of the highest ranked private schools in the Northern part of the city.  “I was given a really unique experience,” he speaks of that duality.  “I have the ability to combine both worlds where most people can’t.”

BYP’s training on classical and jazz upright bass was tempered by an eclectic playlist of sounds at home, from Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield to A Tribe Called Quest and André 3000, from Lenny Kravitz and Bad Brains to DC’s legendary Go-Go scene.  As a teen he hit local talent shows, open mics, and rap battles, even burning CDs that he sold on the street.  A graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, NC, BYP kept the music going, hitting the Soundcloud wave early on, and performing three years in a row at the SXSW Music Conference.

In 2016, Beau Young Prince grabbed over a million streams with “Half & Half Tea” (Top 50 Viral U.S. Spotify chart, and Spotify Most Necessary playlist), off his critically acclaimed project Until Then, produced by longtime friend, New York City producer Yalamusiq.  A year later, BYP connected with French producer YMNO for the Young Futura project.  BYP’s subsequent release of his Sunset Blvd EP ensured that he was destined for greatness. Def Jam A&R soon caught the vibe as the DC star finally won his seat at the table.

Def Jam Recordings to Release The Hate U Give Official Movie Soundtrack

Def Jam Recordings, the iconic label and global brand synonymous with hip-hop culture, partners with 20th Century Fox on Oct. 12th release of the Official Soundtrack to the highly-anticipated film The Hate U Give.

Def Jam Recordings’ next generation of stars, Arlissa and Bobby Sessions, join an all-star cast cast of contemporary and legendary artists including Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, Logic, Jadakiss, and Tupac Shakur for the official soundtrack of The Hate U Give.

Arlissa and Bobby Sessions introduce new, previously unreleased songs on the soundtrack, which Variety raves, “cleverly mimics the film’s outlook by oscillating between snatches of 2Pac and modern R&B;” South London-bred, 25 year old siren Arlissa, who appeared in the August issue of Vogue, experienced her first real taste of success with her breakthrough track “Hearts Ain’t Gonna Lie.”

Arlissa’s defiant anthem “We Won’t Move” from The Hate U Give soundtrack garnered early buzz at the Toronto Film Festival premiere of T.H.U.G., with Toronto’s NOW exclaiming “the soulful ballad has got ‘Oscar nominee’ written all over it.”

Listen to it here!

“It’s been a true honor to be involved in something so significant and relevant to today’s social climate…I was one of the millions of people who were deeply touched by the book, so to be able to contribute to the movie, which shines such a strong light on inequality, has been a responsibility I’ve taken with such pride and care. This is not just a film, this is education,” says Arlissa.

Fiery Dallas rapper Bobby Sessions, who NPR raves, “confronts racism with a captivating flow that’s both acrimonious and awe-inspiring,” and whose debut EP “channels the anger and despair that accompany the cycle is systematic racism” according to XXL, performs the eponymous title tune, “The Hate U Give.”

Shaping up as one of the fall season’s breakout movies, The Hate U Give stars Amandla Stenberg as Starr, a teen who is constantly switching between two worlds: the poor, mostly black, neighborhood where she lives and the rich, mostly white, prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer.  Now, facing pressures from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what’s right. Amandla’s original song “Always” closes out the soundtrack.

The Hate U Give also stars Russell Hornsby, Regina Hall, Issa Rae, KJ Apa, Algee Smith and Sabrina Carpenter, with Common, and Anthony Mackie. The film was directed by George Tillman Jr. (NotoriousMen Of Honor), and produced by Robert Teitel, George Tillman Jr., Marty Bowen, and Wyck Godfrey.  The Hate U Give, whose screenplay was written by Audrey Wells (A Dog’s PurposeUnder The Tuscan Sun), is a Fox 2000 Pictures, State Street Pictures, and Temple Hill Entertainment production, distributed by 20th Century Fox.

The video skyrocketed to almost 500k within the first 10 hours of its release, with the single landing a #2 spot on the iTunes K-Pop Chart.

MTV noted; “…And it should come as no surprise that the K-Pop queen is serving glamour while warning future suitors with a sly smile, “if you mess with me you get hurt.”

Tiffany has been causing pandemonium across her large social media following and dedicated fanbase, with multiple teasers leading up to this release. With cameos from Hyoyeon and Sooyoung of Girls’ Generation, the video for “Teach You” is set to make an even louder splash worldwide. “I’m excited for the fans to see it,” Tiffany joyfully states.

“From the moment the first otherworldly trill bounces in, we are instantly pulled by the collar into Young’s world. Co-written by Tiffany, “Teach You” is filled with self awareness when dealing with toxic relationships. “It’s all about noticing the wrong signs in a relationship and letting the ladies know it’s okay to stand up for yourself. “If you mess with me you’ll get hurt,” that lyric embodies the song as a whole. Q&A With Todd Schireson, Abell Auction Co.

Vice President of Abell Auction Company, Todd Schireson, gives a one-on-one personal interview regarding his business as well as his family’s legacy.

Q: How does one become a curator for an auction?

A: Although I have a BA Degree in Business/Economics, I grew up surrounded by antiques and fine art through the family business. I started taking an interest in design, and knew that I wanted to work in the art world.

Q: When did you realize that you wanted to continue your family’s legacy?

A: I was working in high-end residential management and was fortunate enough to work closely with some of the most important interior designers of the day. I became increasingly passionate about art and design, and started taking more of an interest in the auction business. My grandfather and father were both co-owners of the family auction house and it was a natural step to take in my mid-twenties.

Q: What type of research have you conducted in order to keep your pulse on the millennial consumer?

A: My research comes from years of experience as an auctioneer watching what different age groups are buying. We have changed our business format to encompass more millennial buyers. We hold specialty auctions, especially featuring more mid-century and luxury goods to accommodate that market.

Q: Do you consider yourself a philanthropist? Does any of your proceeds at your auction go towards any humanitarian efforts?

A: All of the auctioneers at Abell including myself donate our time to doing charitable auction events. I recently served as an auctioneer for the Jane Goodall foundation charity auction, and have done cancer foundation auctions as well.

Q: Describe your most eclectic find for this youthful market segment?

A: Every so often we come across really fun estates in Southern California. One estate that a youthful market responded well to was a single-owner men’s sneaker collection. We sold more than 200 pairs of collectible, new, in-box sneakers.

Q: How do you select a location for your pop-up engagements?

A: We selected a location based off of a diverse, younger, affluent market. We typically use the Venice area for its walkable neighborhood and the educated art community present.

Q: What advice would you give to someone aspiring to be an auctioneer?

A: The main facets of being an auctioneer are obtaining merchandise and selling merchandise. For both you have to know your customer base, know what look is selling, and be educated about any piece that could come across an auction house.

Q: Is there anything you wish us to know about your next endeavors?

A: We are taking a 102-year-old business and bring it into the 21st century by becoming more accessible online, to reach an audience that can’t necessarily be here in person.

Q: Are you tackling other markets besides LA? National? International?

A: We have a solid base in Southern California, but have expanded into Palm Springs, Northern California and Las Vegas. We are an internationally and nationally recognized auction house; our expansion into the international markets has been a result of expanding online.

HoverGlide × First “Floating” Backpack

Lightning Packs Introduces HoverGlide – The World’s First “Floating” Backpack

Pack Features Patented “Suspended Load Technology” That Reduces Impact Forces on Users While Walking or Running by Up to 86%; Kickstarter Campaign Launches Today to Fund Its Final Development

Lightning Packs today introduced HoverGlide, the world’s first “floating” backpack. Featuring patented Suspended Load Technology (SLT) that has been scientifically proven to reduce impact forces on users while walking or running by up to 86%, HoverGlide is the perfect solution for people looking to reduce stress and weight load on their backs, necks, knees and ankles while hiking, trekking or even commuting in the city. The Kickstarter campaign, which is being managed by the Launchpad Agency, launches today with a funding goal of $75,000 USD. The campaign features limited Super Early Bird Specials at $349 as well as several other rewards for backers to choose from. The campaign can be seen at: kck.st/2IbKMUf

HoverGlide’s industry-first functionality is due to its patented double-frame and suspension system design (a.k.a. SLT) that features two frames – a fixed frame, which incorporates the harness that users wear on their back, and the moving frame, which incorporates the bag and can slide relative to the fixed frame. The moving frame is suspended from the fixed frame by a patented shock reducing mechanism, which is tensioned such that during walking or running, the pack stays at a constant height relative to the ground even as the user’s torso moves up and down.

HoverGlide is available in two frame sizes and four distinct packs. Sitting on a 24” frame, the HoverGlide “Trekker” is a 55L rugged gear hauler for backcountry adventures that securely holds enough equipment and food for two- to three-day trips. Weighing in at approximately 9 lbs, the Trekker features a sleeve for a hydration reservoir, zippers and pockets for easy access to essentials and compression straps to secure the load. The Trekker’s 24” frame permits users to suspend up to 55 lbs (more weight can be carried but the SLT must be locked).

HoverGlide is also available on a patented 20” modular frame design, which can accept three interchangeable packs – the 28L daily “Commuter,” the 30L “Hiker” and the 30L “Tactical.” The small packs weigh in from 5.5 lbs to 7 lbs depending on materials, and the maximum load that can be suspended on the 20” frame is 27 lbs (more weight can be carried but the SLT must be locked).

“HoverGlide is the result of years and years of development and testing, and the result is a fundamentally different way for people to carry loads,” said Dr. Lawrence Rome, founder, Lightning Packs. “HoverGlide dramatically reduces the impact forces during locomotion, even permitting running comfortably with heavy loads. The lower forces reduce the potential for acute and long-term injury and also reduce the metabolic energy needed to carry a backpack. So, people can move faster with lower exertion.”

About Lightning Packs

Lightning Packs, LLC was founded by Dr. Lawrence Rome, a muscle physiology expert and professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Using Suspended Load Technology, a technology that Rome invented and patented (5 US Patents, 3 Canadian Patents, 2 European Patents and 1 Australian Patent issued), Lightning Packs is creating backpacks for consumers that “float” on a user’s back, dramatically reducing stress and weight load on their bodies as they walk or run. Field-tested and approved by the US Army and US Marine Corps, Lightning Packs backpacks offer rugged functionality and are one of the most significant innovations in backpacks in the last 30 years.
