GLASHÜTTE ORIGINAL × PANOMATIC LUNA

Red as in love: the new PanoMatic Luna from Glashütte Original

The limited special edition makes a passionate and glamourous appearance

There are kisses one simply cannot forget as long as one lives. Some even lend one wings: in fairy tales, they awaken enchanted princesses, and for passionate makers of mechanical movements, the moment they first set the balance in motion is a very special one – every time again. July 6, 2018 is the International Day of the Kiss, which celebrates the magic of love and passion. Glashütte Original has chosen this occasion to present a special limited edition that truly comes from the heart. Studded with diamonds and rubies, the PanoMatic Luna proudly wears the colour of love, permitting this mechanical ladies watch to give its classic moon phase display a new, exceptionally enticing appearance.

A dial in shimmering white and scintillating red

The dial of the new PanoMatic Luna unites two romantic elements in an elegant composition. On the white mother-of-pearl dial, the softly curved moon in relief and the silver-coloured, starry night sky reveal a poetry all their own. At 2 o’clock, one finds the vaulted opening of the moon phase display, achieved through an equally artistic creative process. The curve of the moon is the product of great manual skill and attentive diamond milling in the watchmaker’s own dial manufactory in Pforzheim, Germany.

This spectacle of the changing crescent moon is complemented by 18 ruby indexes, which offer luminous red reflections on the opposite side of the dial, and serve as a frame for the off-centre hour and minute display. They are positioned together with the small seconds – in classic Pano style – along a vertical axis in the left half of the dial, while the moon phase display and characteristic Glashütte Original Panorama Date adorn the right side.

Radiant beauty and luminous colour

What, without the brilliance of the stars, would a romantic night sky be? The bezel on the new PanoMatic Luna is set with 64 brillant-cut diamonds – 0.95 carats in all – that reflect light with every movement. They form a glamorous frame for the round, 34 mm stainless steel case, whose crown is adorned on the right side by a ruby. Sapphire crystal, antireflective on both sides, assures optimal views from the dial side. The watch is held in place on the wrist by a radiant red Louisiana alligator leather strap, which together with a refined pin buckle ensures a secure and stylish fit.

An elaborately decorated mechanical heart

Ticking within the PanoMatic Luna is the manufactory’s own Calibre 90-12 automatic movement, which can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back. The latter opens up the view to the refined decorations in the heart of the watch, and to the coveted duplex swan-neck fine adjustment from Glashütte Original. A great many other traditional elements of Glashütte watchmaking offer irrefutable proof of the origin of the watch, among them the three-quarter plate, blued screws and characteristic Glashütte decorative finishes.

The new PanoMatic Luna is limited to 50 pieces and enhances the existing collection model with a white, blue or brown strap. Available shortly in Glashütte Original

Boutiques and from selected retailers worldwide.

Tyler Florence & Cooper’s Hawk

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants, a lifestyle brand centered around food and wine, has announced their second wine collaboration with Chef Tyler Florence: a Sauvignon Blanc. The blend is a labor of love between Cooper’s Hawk winemaker Rob Warren and the Food Network host, author, restaurateur and winemaker, Tyler Florence. The collaboration wine is a limited production blend made for the company’s 300,000-plus Wine Club and is positioned as July’s “Wine of the Month”. While the wine debuted at a members-only Wine Club dinner hosted by Florence in Naples, Florida on June 20th, restaurant guests can sample the blend by the glass in the dining and tasting rooms throughout the month of July in any of Cooper’s Hawk 32 restaurants.
“Collaborating with the very best chefs and winemakers not only elevates the Cooper’s Hawk brand, but raises the bar for the entire hospitality industry,” says Cooper’s Hawk Founder & CEO Tim McEnery. “Working with Tyler on our second wine collaboration has been one of the most educational experiences to date. His curious palate and deep knowledge of wine helped create an exceptional Sauvignon Blanc.”
Over the past twelve years, Florence has added several wine awards to his list of accomplishments, scoring in the 90s with Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast. Tyler is also a top-selling author of 12 cookbooks and proprietor of two acclaimed restaurants.
I am laser-focused on creating exciting flavor profiles, so wine was a natural next step for me a decade ago,”says Florence. “The Cooper’s Hawk philosophy of blending brings great freedom to the world of winemaking and allows them to move with the trends. We used grapes from Monterey County to create a wine with aromas of lemon, orange, melon, grass, grapefruit and gooseberry with whimsical tropical flavors like guava, kiwi and passion fruit. The finish is crisp and loaded with green apple and citrus fruit.”
Cooper’s Hawk continues to push the boundaries of experiential branding by sharing the excitement that comes from collaborating with culinary and wine luminaries like Florence, and many others including Francis Ford Coppola Winery, Jean Charles Boisset (Boisset Collection), Richard Blais, Anne Burrell and many others.
About Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants
Founded in 2005 by CEO Tim McEnery, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants is built upon the belief that food and wine hold the power to forge lasting connections. A lifestyle brand focused on creating memorable moments that enrich lives, Cooper’s Hawk is the 34

DONNA MISSAL JOINS KING PRINCESS ON WEST COAST TOUR DATES

Run Includes Sold-Out July 26 Show At Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre

Donna Missal will be touring the West Coast with King Princess later this month. The run includes sold-out shows in Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles. See below for itinerary. Visit donnamissal.com for ticket information.

Missal’s singles have racked up more than eight million cumulative streams worldwide. After Zane Lowe premiered her original demo version of “Keep Lying” on Beats 1, it shot to the top of the Spotify Viral and HypeMachine charts. Streams of the demo now exceed 1.5 million in the U.S. Missal’s newly recorded version of “Keep Lying,” produced by Tim Anderson (Solange, BANKS, Halsey), will appear on her debut album, which will be released later this year by Harvest Records.

Lowe premiered Missal’s “Girl” on Beats 1 last month and praised its “timeless, latter day Prince vibe.” Idolator hailed the track as “raw and vulnerable…She sings about the emotional damage inflicted when ‘women hate on other women’ (her own words) over a sparse, soulful arrangement.” The official video was directed by Justin Bettman, who has earned acclaim for the ongoing art project Set in the Street, which repurposes found materials to create interior sets on city streets.

Missal is featured on two tracks from Macklemore’s latest album, Gemini: “Over It,” which she cowrote, and “Glorious.” She also featured on Rudimental’s “No Fear” and cowrote Leon Bridges’ “Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand.” “Power” – an original song she cowrote with Baz Luhrmann and recorded for Netflix’s “The Get Down” – won a Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Song. Her songs have also been licensed by such shows as “House of Lies,” “Easy” and “The Vampire Diaries.”

Working as a Party Planner

If you’re reading this, you’re probably thinking about getting into party planning. Odds are, you’ve always been a great host or a “get this party started” kind of person and you’re wondering if you should turn it into a career. You might be pondering: what’s working as party planner actually like? Is it all fun and parties all of the time?

The truth is, every day is different. On the busiest of days, you’re in the office from the crack of dawn and out at parties and launches until late hours of the night. It can be exhausting at times, but the thrill of seeing your event come off just as you’d planned it is totally worth it. Then there’s more low-key days, of course. Like any job, there are good days and there are bad days, and a lot of it is hard work.

So, what’s it all like?

Non-event Days
As mentioned before, not every day as a party planner will be an event day. Weird to think about, but more often than not you’ll have a non-event day than a party day. Fortunately, not every day is as jam packed as the ones where you’re up early and out late. Still, a regular day has you busy with tasks.

Clients and Planning
On these days you’re probably touching base with a lot of your clients as well as going over details for events. There’s researching and sourcing, holding meetings with the clients, and scoping out venue requirements as well as caterers.

Creating themes, schedules, and count-down to-do lists are standard in the event-planning world. The planning of events basically comes down to minute details, so you have to be on top of all aspects of the event. It’s also incredibly useful look into coverages for your events. You never know when elements of an event or client will go downhill. Business insurance for party planners is an absolute must. That includes invitations, arrivals, catering, decoration, staffing, and so much more.

Correspondence
Then there’s other normal work stuff like e-mailing, figuring out contracts, and coordinating teams. Because you’ll probably be working on a few projects at once, upkeep of communication with clients is crucial. You’ll have to set aside some time every day or so to update clients.

Additionally, there’s the part of the job where you have to seek out new clients. You’ll need to prepare proposals for your potential clients and probably do some promotion and marketing as well.

Event Day
Once event day comes around, you’ll be working flat out from the crack of dawn to the end of night (or, depending on when the event ends). Event day includes:

• Arriving early.
• Setting up and ensuring vendors and contractors are set up.
• Confirming staff knows what to do to make sure the event runs smoothly.
• Helping attendees in arrival.
• Overseeing the schedule and troubleshooting problems that arise with a backup plan (Always be sure to have a back-up plan!)
• Evaluating the event based on attendees, those who’ve commissioned the party, and yourself. Learn from each event to do better at the next.
• Be professional and excited. It’s imperative to wear a smile on event day! Even if you’re not feeling it, fake it ‘til you make it.

Overall, being a party planner can be different depending on the day. What you can definitely expect in the short term is a lot of planning and correspondence. Non-event day hours can look much like standard 9-5 days, but there’ll be longer days leading up to an event day. You’ll have a relatively flexible schedule, with some weekend days.

If you’ve made it this far, it might be time to seriously consider this as a career. Not everyone is gifted with hosting capabilities. With being a party planner, you’ll have flexibility in your schedule and freedom to pull off amazing events. Just know that you have to be meticulous in your planning, stay up to date with correspondence, and don’t skimp on business insurance.

With any luck, you’ll parties will be the talk of the town!
