BLACK PANTHER VS. DEADPOOL

Deadpool has gone up against almost everyone in the Marvel Universe…and now, that roster includes the legendary Black Panther in BLACK PANTHER VS. DEADPOOL, a new story from Lockjaw and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert writer Daniel Kibblesmith and artist Ricardo Lopez Ortiz (Hit-Girl, Civil War II: Kingpin).

For a reason he’d rather not disclose (because, well, it makes him look bad!) Deadpool needs a piece of Vibranium…and the only way to get Vibranium is to go through the Black Panther himself! But Deadpool soon learns that his unconventional methods don’t exactly work against the king of the most technologically advanced country on the planet…

“Featuring a brawl you can only get in comics (for now anyway), BLACK PANTHER VS. DEADPOOL is the best of both worlds, equal parts Black Panther/Wakanda and Deadpool/Crazytown,” said Editor Wil Moss. “In bouncing these two characters off each other (and sometimes through each other), Daniel and Ricardo have found some really fascinating insights into what makes them tick as individuals.”

Don’t miss the throw-down of the century when BLACK PANTHER VS. DEADPOOL comes to comic shops this October!

Gregory Siff

Brooklyn born, LA based artist Gregory Siff recently added New York restaurant Clinton Hall to the list of venues boasting his large-scale works. Renowned for his colorful pop culture themes and whimsical abstract expressions, the artist has created Clinton Hall-inspired art that adorns the restaurant’s new 4,000-sq. ft. location in Williamsburg.

Inspired by the stories and successes of the popular New York beer hall, which has five locations across the city, Siff covered various metal pillars with symbolic markings and that include representations of Clinton Hall menu items, New York City symbols, and faces of the owners’ children. The Clinton Hall team commissioned the internationally recognized artist to create something that encompasses the brand in its entirety, while delivering an edgy yet artistic feel.

Siff’s past works include commissions by MoMA PS1, Soho House New York, and Google HQ as well as collaborations with brands like Helmut Lang, Pyer Moss and Saint Laurent.

About Greg Stiff:

Artist Gregory Siff was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1977. Gregory lives and works in Los Angeles. His artworks are included in Swizz Beatz’s Dean Collection, Deitch Projects, Santa Monica Museum of Art, Moscow Museum of Art, Soho House New York and the Google HQ, to name a few. Siff’s exhibitions include “Happiness Dealer,” Samuel Owen Gallery- Nantucket (2017), “Portrait of an American Ice Cream Man,” 4AM Gallery (2016), Art Miami: Gallery Valentine (2016), “Walls,” Pacific Design Center (2015), Scope: Miami (2012), “Matter of Time,” Gallery Brown (2012), “There & Back,” Siren Studios x The Art Reserve (2012).  Siff has touched all areas of the art world with pieces on display in the Museum of Modern Art’s MoMA PS1 for Klaus Biesenbach’s group show “Rockaway!” as well as a mural in the ACE Museum for non-profit The Art of Elysium with Christie’s Auction House. He was selected by Vans Custom Culture to be one of their “Art Ambassadors” inspiring students across the United States to embrace their creativity. His hand-painted Vans were on view at the Whitney Museum of American Art. He has done commissions and installations for Mercedes Benz, Helmut Lang, Marc Jacobs with Louisxxx, Forbes, Rolling Stone, Teen Vogue, The Standard, Sotheby’s, Warner Bros. Records and Pyer Moss. Painting in a purposeful yet playful manner, his work exhibits meaning that is literal yet open for interpretation of nostalgia and childhood. Capturing happy moments while also tackling more serious topics, like the “Black Lives Matter” campaign, Gregory Siff does not shy away from using his art to initiate a conversation. He creates his iconic “storyboards” with each image representing an emotional or creative state of mind the artist considers to be a meaningful fragment of his life. His work has been seen in The New York Times, Andy Warhol’s Interview, Treats!, The Wall Street Journal and W Magazine. Most recently Gregory collaborated with luxury fashion house Saint Laurent, bringing his imagery to the new Winter YSL 2017 Women’s and Men’s Ready to Wear Line.

Why Some Women are Delaying Pregnancy

New findings from a recent survey show that women living with chronic inflammatory or autoimmune disease feel they don’t have enough information to make informed decisions about how to balance pregnancy with disease management. Some women feel they have no choice but to stop treatment or delay their plans for pregnancy. These women are living with a variety of autoimmune conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and Crohn’s disease.

Now, a new initiative called the AIM (Autoimmune Motherhood) Movement is being launched to rally these women and provide support, information and a place for them to share stories about motherhood with chronic inflammatory disease. The education campaign and online community aims to help women learn the facts about their conditions and appropriate disease management options, while allowing them to share experiences to empower one another.

AIM Survey Shows:

  • Almost half (44%) of U.S. women surveyed had concerns serious enough that they delayed their plans to become pregnant
  • 61% believed they could not combine treatment and breastfeeding
  • Only 41% consulted a healthcare professional before becoming pregnant, suggesting the need for women to become more engaged in treatment and pregnancy planning earlier

On Wednesday, July 11th, join Dr. Grace Wright, rheumatologist at New York University Langone Medical Center and patient Rosanna, who shares her compelling story of living 30 years with rheumatoid arthritis and the physical and emotional challenges she endures while dealing with her disease. Both guests will help bring awareness to the issues surrounding ways to manage chronic inflammatory disease throughout the family planning journey. They’ll also reveal the results of the AIM Patient Survey to help others in similar situations make the best decisions for themselves and their families.

HIV Dating App

Hzone, an innovative social networking app which is available on both Google Play store and Apple iTunes store, is designed to help HIV-infected singles to find companions and social support.

Hzone, a smartphone app specifically designed for HIV dating, was designed to make it possible for HIV-infected people to find the much-needed emotional support from society itself. Justin R, who was present at a recent press conference, claimed that the app could help people to increase their social engagements.

“People who are HIV-infected find dating and finding new friends excruciatingly difficult, as they are often subjected to HIV-related stigma as well as discrimination. However, medical science has proved that HIV-affected people can marry and even have kids. However, if someone is going to date an HIV-infected person or the other way around, both should be a little more careful and take a bit more responsibility than usual if they are going on a date or thinking about marriage,” said Justin, the CEO and managing director of Hzone.

“Hzone is a social networking app which we developed to help HIV singles and people from the LGBT community to socialize. It uses the location of the user’s phone to help people find similar-minded people nearby. The app also comes with a ‘Quick Match’ feature, which helps people to find and meet really interesting people by just swiping their screen to their ‘right’. If the other user likes back, it means that the duo can form a great pair as good friends. Our VIP members can even chat with other members as we do not put any restriction on chatting for our VIP members,” added Justin R.

As of now, Hzone is available on both Google Play store and Apple iTunes store.

The developer also informed that the users of the app can view other people who might be interested in the same fields or topics as them. Users are also allowed to share their experience on the social networking app with the entire community and express themselves in the most creative way possible.

Justin R said, “We cannot control all things in life and bad things sometimes happen, but we should always react to these changes positively. Our app could help HIV-infected people to find true love and emotional support from within society.”

Paris FW x Haute Couture

During Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture, on Tuesday, July 3,

Maison des Centraliens has hosted three young designers with their Fall- Winter Collections 2018-2019:

ABE by Ariane Chaumeil Jewelry  “Miroir”

There is magic and mystery in a mirror : the reflexion of who looks into it is real, but reversed.  Since we gaze at ourselves, all fantasies become possible and brings us back to face each other, and to what the world has to face. As a two-way mirror, you can see without being seen. Step through and find out with this collection, and the part of your soul using your imagination, whether it is dark or whether radiant…

The fall winter collection of the ABE by Ariane Chaumeil house, whose crafting remains done with the blowtorch glass, becomes richer with a new proposition: the metal paste making. Sculpted and cast, the metal paste is modelled, sanded, fired at high temperature, brushed and rubbed with a burnisher and polished several times in order to get pieces of golden and white bronze, and of pure copper, with a shiny, ancient rendering.

A couture collection by  designer Armine Ohanyan

A couture collection made in France, entirely handmade, intimately inspired by nature, showing the natural elements in all their forms. Ice, crystallization, rain, wind, dew and roots. Crystallized in these surroundings, the Human Being becomes Nature. The Nature is everlasting, nothing can stop it. It is the true beauty, perfection. For depicting this cycle of evolution, Armine Ohanyan uses the new technologies such as 3D printing or materials crafting, which play an important role in her creation process. Her art investigations never end, like the movement that she shows in its different forms and their ranges of colours and materials. Her creations are futuristic, modern, with a wide beauty touch.

Baroqco Jewelry

Designers Imelda and Eduardo aka Baroqco are citizens of the world . Their roots are from Dutch Chinese Indonesian and Portuguese descent, and this diversity is what provides foundation that leads to the inspiration and creation. BaroQco comes from Baroque, an era of change from simplicity to lively and exuberant detail. BaroQco stands alone with its unique grandeur and ability to surprise and to achieve a sense of awe. Imelda and Eduardo started to create jewelry as they were looking for a tiara or crown for their wedding day. At that time there were not a lot of options, so they decided to create their own tiara which lead others to ask whether they could also make necklaces and earrings.

« As we embrace the impressionism, we strive not only for the outer but especially for the inner-beauty. In our creations we want to push boundaries of artistic techniques. And therefore the BaroQco is a book without an End. »

The materials are opal ,gold and Swarovski and all the metalwork are nickel free, the usage of non toxic and – hazardous for plating makes the jewelry more ecofriendly.

ABOUT ARIANA GRANDE

With her powerful vocals and astonishing range, Ariana Grande has emerged as one of the most magnetic and massively successful performers in pop music today. At age 24 she’s delivered three platinum-selling albums and surpassed 18 billion streams, in addition to nabbing four Grammy Award nominations and landing eight hits in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. With 2016’s critically acclaimed Dangerous Woman, Grande both boldly defies expectation and reveals the full force of her voice (recently hailed as an “extraordinary, versatile, limitless instrument” upon Grande’s appearance on Time’s “100 Most Influential People” list).

Since making her full-length debut with 2013’s Yours Truly (featuring the game-changing, triple-platinum smash “The Way”), Grande has brought her striking vocal presence to a genre-blurring breed of pop, taking on R&B, soul, and electronic music with equal nuance and assurance. Arriving in 2014, her sophomore effort, My Everything, garnered a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album and spawned the 6x-platinum hits “Problem” and “Bang Bang” (a Grammy nominee for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance). Grande embraced a more uncompromising vision than ever before in the making of Dangerous Woman. With People noting that the album “celebrates feminine might,” Entertainment Weekly praised Grande for “having something meaningful to say with that jaw-dropping voice — one of the most exquisite in pop today.” Grande wrapped up her widely lauded Dangerous Woman Tour in support of the album last year, performing 85 arena shows worldwide.

Through the years, the longtime actress and former Broadway star has proven the scope of her talent by appearing on Scream Queens and Hairspray Live! and showcased her comedic chops by hosting Saturday Night Live. With her social media following now surging past 200 million, Grande has also earned numerous accolades from the MTV Video Music Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and American Music Awards (including the highly coveted Artist of the Year prize).

Ariana’s recent single “No Tears Left To Cry” debuted at #1 on iTunes in 88 countries worldwide and began the next era for her upcoming fourth full length studio album Sweetener.  With the release of “Not Tears Left To Cry” she became the first artist in music history to see the lead single from her first four albums debut on the Top 10 on Billboard Hot 100.  This year she has graced the prestigious magazine covers of TIME’s Next Generation Leaders, FADER, and British Vogue.  The highly anticipated album, Sweetener, will be released Summer 2018.

OVERNIGHT MOAB ADVENTURE

Overnight Sensations –

Moab Adventure Center Offers Options

For Visitors Short on Vacation Time

Short on vacation time this summer? Utah’s Moab Adventure Center suggests that a two-day break in a brand-new setting and doing something outside your comfort zone can feel like a week away.

“Moab is a great stopping point for that cross-country road trip or brief weekend getaway,” notes Moab Adventure Center Manager Cort Wright. “With so many half-, full-day and overnight adventures to choose from, no one is ever disappointed!”

Wright recommends these two water-themed, short-break options in the iconic red rock playground of Moab, encircled by two national parks and the Colorado River.

Option one is Colorado River/Moab 2-Day Adventure with one night of catered camping under the stars and rafting that begins where red rock cliffs cast towering reflections on the river.  The per person double rate of $295 includes all meals (including a barbecue lunch at a riverside lodge), camping equipment, transfers, and a choice of three different kinds of boats in which to experience the fun of rafting nearly 20 miles. Guests have the option of letting the guides stay in charge rowing an oar raft, or they can be part of the paddling crew on paddle rafts. Two-person inflatable kayaks are also provided so guests can take turns paddling on their own. For details see http://www.moabadventurecenter.com/colorado-river-adventure

Option two, Cataract CanyonRapid Express: Moab to Lake Powell, is a 2-day Colorado River/Moab raft and camp (one night) through 46-mile Cataract Canyon on the Colorado River as it cuts through the heart of Canyonlands National Park.  Just 30 minutes west of Moab, guests board customized, high-speed rafts that depart for a two-day, 100-mile Colorado River voyage. Experienced professional guides share folklore and facts about ancient Native American civilizations and early settlers while dropping into a series of nearly 30 whitewater rapids that make Cataract Canyon legendary. The journey ends on the scenic and still waters of Lake Powell before shuttling back to Moab. The per person double rate of $760 includes hiking, camping equipment, meals, rafting and transfers. For details see http://www.moabadventurecenter.com/cataract-canyon-express.

A third option is for visitors who have secured their own lodging in the area and are looking for iconic adventure. A Moab Signature Vacation Package (with deluxe upgrade option) offers two days of activities with on-own lodging that include on Day One, an Arches National Park Tour in the morning and in the afternoon a Slickrock Hummer Safari. On Day Two comes a morning Colorado River rafting adventure. The per person rate is $215. With a $35 per person upgrade the Hummer Safari turns deluxe and includes drinks and appetizers at sunset and the rafting adventure moves from half-day to full-day and includes a barbecue lunch. For details see http://www.moabadventurecenter.com/package-hummer-raft-hike.

For more information and to check availability and make reservations please call (435) 259-7019 or (866) 904-1163 or send an email from http://www.moabadventurecenter.com/contact.

To speed things up so people can slow themselves down, Moab’s Canyonlands Field Airport (CNY) now has scheduled convenient daily air service from Denver, CO.

The Moab Adventure Center website suggests other activities and what to do in Moab, Utah. The Center recommends, due to its popularity over spring and summer weekends, to have lodging reservations in hand before coming to the region. Check out the website for Moab lodging options. The free Pocket Guide Moab: Last Minute Itineraries for the Undecided Traveleris also a good resource to the area.
