Jess Kent Releases Two Singles

July 13th, 2018 (Hollywood, CA) Rising singer and songwriter Jess Kent releases two new singles ‘Bass Bumps’ and ‘No Love Songs’ today as a two-song bundle via Capitol Records and all digital partners. Download/stream both tracks HERE.

Taken together, the two tracks show different dimensions of the England-born, Australia-raised Kent’s impressive lyrical and melodic artistry, with ‘Bass Bumps’ representing her playful, spirited side and ‘No Love Songs’ (featuring Wes Period) tapping into her chilled-out, down-tempo vibe. Kent co-wrote and collaborated on both tracks with Justin Tranter(Gwen Stefani, Selena Gomez, Years & Years) with whom she has been in the studio working on her debut album.

“Bass Bumps is an homage to Sydney and the raves where me and my friends used to party,” says Kent. “In the period of time when I was cutting my teeth as a writer and producer, the electronic scene there was vibrant, eclectic, exciting and full of fresh talent. I’m so grateful for that time.” No Love Songs’ came about because I’d been very deliberate in having a broad and bold approach to what I was writing about on the record. Part of that was making sure I was being completely honest about what I wanted to write about. This particular day, I actually felt like writing a love song! So I thought, I won’t be snob- why not?!”

‘Bass Bumps’and ‘No Love Songs’ are Kents’ first new songs since 2016, which saw the release of her debut EP My Name is Jess Kent. The EP features her breakout hit, the reggae-infused alt-dance-pop track ‘Get Down,’ which has racked up more than three million Spotify plays, as well as second single’The Sweet Spot.’

Kent is a self-taught songwriter with a natural skill for crafting boldly nuanced electronic pop music. Born in Derby, England, was raised in Australia and got her start in music thanks largely to her dad, a blues-rock guitarist. She has played guitar since age seven, spent her childhood busking with her brother, and grew up with a love for bands like Blondie and the Clash. Now 24, Kent has mastered a potent rap influenced, melodic delivery that pairs her brash energy and rapid-fire flow with lyrics both defiant and vulnerable. She has toured with Coldplay, Troye Sivan, Daya, Nick Jonas and Years & Years.

Capitol Records is pleased to announce the release of MAMMA MIA! HERE WE GO AGAIN The Movie Soundtrack featuring an all-star cast bringing the timeless lyrics and melodies of ABBA to delight fans old and new alike.

The soundtrack will be available on July 13, whetting the appetite of eager audiences a week before the release of the highly-anticipated sequel to the smash-hit MAMMA MIA! The Movie.

Original ABBA member Benny Andersson produced and arranged the soundtrack, which features a dazzling ensemble of cast members making their mark on eighteen ABBA classics including Fernando (sung by Cher and Andy Garcia), When I Kissed The Teacher (sung by Lily James, Jessica Keenan Wynn and Alexa Davies) and Dancing Queen (sung by Pierce Brosnan, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgerd, Dominic Cooper & Amanda Seyfried) to name a few. MAMMA MIA! The Movie, released in 2008, also based on the songs of ABBA, is one of the highest-grossing live-action musicals of all time. Its companion soundtrack sold 1.5 million copies in the UK and achieved global sales of over 7.7 million. Almost a decade since its release, its popularity has not waned. There have been 406 million combined streams of MAMMA MIA! The Movie Soundtrack. ABBA are one of the most successful pop groups of all time. The Swedish quartet have sold over 385 million albums worldwide and their songs have been streamed over 2.8 billion times.

The release of MAMMA MIA! The Movie prompted a surge in sales for ABBA, whose hit compilation ABBA Gold went back to No.1 in the albums charts some 16 years after its original release.

Produced by Greatness Jones and Jordan Thomas, Professor Green’s ‘Count On You’ features vocals from upcoming East London singer, JstJck. Premiered last night on Radio 1Xtra by DJ Target, it follows the 2018 release of Green’s ‘Mercedes Riddim’ ft. Dutch and ‘Unruly’.

The music video for ‘Count On You’ was shot in Holborn and directed by long-term collaborator and globally renowned photographer and film-maker, Simon Emmett. Highlighting Green’s status as arguably one of the UK’s most eligible Batchelors, the video centres around the theme of him speed-dating and features a cameo appearance from former Love Island contestant Montana Brown.

RELEASE OF “BLINDSPOTTING” SOUNDTRACK

Republic Records and global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B) today announced the release of the official soundtrack for the critically-acclaimed feature film Blindspotting from Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment label. The soundtrack will be released in three different installments with the first, The Collin EP, available at all digital retailers today, and the second release, The Miles EP, to go live on July 27th in tandem with the film’s North American theatrical opening. The two EP releases are named after the lead characters. More information on the full soundtrack and final release, The Town EP, will be announced soon. Blindspotting is set for release in select theaters on July 20th and goes wide on July 27th.
