SIX SENSES BHUTAN

Six Senses Bhutan Prepares for October 2018 Opening

Reservations now being accepted for booking from November 3 onward with special opening offer

Six Senses Bhutan, which is gearing up for an October 2018 opening, is a collection of five boutique lodges set in the western and central valleys of Bhutan, each with its own character, environment, and experiences.

Beginning with the capital and the largest of the lodges, Six Senses Thimphu places a strong emphasis on incorporating the spirit of the grand architectural elements of a dzong (fortress) and clouds, giving it the name of Palace in the Sky. The second is Six Senses Punakha, located in the relatively low-lying valley of Punakha which takes inspiration from the farms and vegetable terraces across the valley and the traditional cantilever bridges of Bhutan to create a Flying Farmhouse amidst rice fields.

Moving further towards central Bhutan is the quaint glacial valley of Phobjikha, famous for being the winter residence of black-necked cranes. This valley is home to Six Senses Gangtey which is fondly called the Traditional Birdwatching Bridge due to its main bridge-like building with a large glass area overlooking the valley where these sacred birds roam freely.

Traveling further east, but still in the central area of Bhutan, is the Kingdom’s spiritual center with its stunning landscape and beautiful monasteries. Six Senses Bumthang is located in an evergreen pine forest and with its immersive tree and garden interior design theme, it is fondly referred to as the Forest in a Forest. The fifth resort in the collection is Six Senses Paro. Located at a stunning elevation overlooking the Paro Valley and next to ancient dzong stone ruins, this lodge is affectionately called Stone Ruins.

The Thimphu, Paro, and Punakha resorts will open in October 2018 with reservations now being accepted for stays starting on November 3, 2018. The Gangtey and Bumthang resorts open in early 2019.

Rates & Reservations and Special Opening Offer: Suite rates start at $1500 USD for double occupancy and as a special opening offer until February 28, 2019, Six Senses Bhutan will offer an inclusive breakfast, lunch and dinner (restaurant dining or picnic). For stays between November 3, 2018 and February 28, 2019 for five consecutive nights at one or more of the resorts, Six Senses Bhutan will offer guests a car and driver plus a guide during their stay at Six Senses Bhutan.

“There is so much to explore in this mystical Himalayan Kingdom, with its cultural, natural, and spiritual beauty making it a compelling destination. With the nation’s driving force being Gross National Happiness, the Kingdom has protected its identity while progressing with the world. Compassion is a way of life in Bhutan and it extends to the protection of nature and sustainability. Six Senses Bhutan shares these values and has become an integral part of the local fabric,” said General Manager Mark Swinton.

“Activities have been designed to showcase the best of Bhutan. The emphasis on experiences and service is brought alive by our GEMs (Guest Experience Makers) who act as guides and assist guests in every manner possible to create an authentic Bhutanese and true Six Senses experience. Meditating at the prayer pavilion in the reflecting ponds overlooking the giant Buddha statue across the valley; hiking up to Chorten Ningpo in Punakha; participating in local farm activities in Gangtey; treehouse dining at Bumthang; and a private dinner in the 15th century stone ruins at Paro are just a few of the magical experiences created for guests of Six Senses Bhutan.”

Each location will have its own Spa & Wellness Center with extensive facilities and treatments reflecting the valley in which they are set. Therapies range from hot stone baths in Thimphu and Bumthang, to a pyramid meditation room and swedana treatment at Gangtey, to a dip in the heated outdoor pool at Punakha or treatment in a spa room overlooking the ruins in Paro. The focus on well-being is emphasized with programs that include Six Senses Integrated Wellness, Sleep With Six Senses and Eat With Six Senses.

Getting There: Bhutan is served by Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines. International destinations on scheduled flights are Bangkok, New Delhi, Kolkata, Singapore, Kathmandu, Dhaka, Bagdogra, Guwahati and Gaya. Domestic flights are available between Paro and Bumthang. Helicopter charters are available from Paro airport and private jet assistance is offered by Bhutan Air Services.

Delivering the Hype

Delivering the Hype was founded in November 2017 by Thomas Gigante a Business and Management student at the University of Kent (UK). At the time he started proposing his business plan and calling selected business contributors to become team members and since then the business’s main purpose has been to provide exclusive services to the public; such as the most famous one, the VIP service. It all started by analysing the markets of the sneaker and streetwear industry, which are notoriously competitive. The gap in the market was the difficulty in obtaining a certain product from brands like Supreme, Palace and other similar brands. The main goal of the successful company is to provide highly limited sneakers and streetwear clothes to the public, at a fair, reasonable as well as competitive price. The name is easy to find and eye-catching; by now anybody who is passionate about hyped brands or in the streetwear community knows and easily recognises what Delivering the Hype is all about; delivering “hyped” products to the client. The DH team is formed by people who have different backgrounds, cultures and come from all over the world. Thomas says: “ We’re constantly growing, and we are always improving our website and services. In the future DH expects new services to be opened, a greater clientele and to expand our team. Our VIP service is very easy to use, like the other services, you just need to fill in the form that is given on the page, giving us the right info on the product you want (what is it, date of release etc.) and by filling in and sending the form we will do the rest. We have got a large number of trusted clients who always buy from us”.

Rilès releases “!I’ll Be Back!” & Tour

NEW YORK, NY (June 22, 2018) — Today, buzzing French hip-hop artist Rilès releases his new single “!I’ll Be Back!

Get it HERE via Republic Records.

Driven by roaring horns and an airtight beat, the track showcases his off-kilter creativity and inimitable charisma. Over this unpredictable soundscape, he drops clever rhymes and a catchy chorus. It’s emblematic of his outlier approach and show-stopping style.

The song represents the culmination of a massive undertaking by Rilès. It all started in his bedroom—which doubles as a creative hive. He produces, writes, and records music in this tiny space (it’s also where you can find him often painting and crafting visual art as well). From that D.I.Y. headquarters, he made the decision to release one new song per week (52 in total) as part of his highly touted Rilèsundayz initiative. He kept the promise with a slew of songs on a weekly basis, and it finally concludes with the unveiling of his new major label single “!I’ll Be Back!”

“!I’ll Be Back!” arrives hot on the heels of his U.S. debut single “Should I, which has already cracked 4.8 million Spotify streams. Meanwhile, the song’s self-directed music video just crossed the 4-million-mark on YouTube within a month’s time.

Be on the lookout for more from Rilès soon as he is currently on his Summer Festival tour, the remaining tour dates can be found below.

Out of a tiny makeshift bedroom studio, Rilès became the talk of Europe and Africa. Between graduating from a French scientific high school and studying English literature at the University of Rouen, he began painting, producing, writing, recording, mixing, mastering, and engineering an undeniable underground catalog in this tiny space. His YouTube channel impressively exceeded the 100-million-mark on YouTube by dropping one song per week from September 2016 through September 2017. Additionally, he sold out every date of his first tour as “Brothers” cracked 11 million Spotify streams with “Thank God” eclipsing 9 million on the platform.

Veteran US Diplomat Fears for Missing & Displaced Immigrant Children

Former U.S. Ambassador of Senegal Harriet L. Elam-Thomas, who currently sits on the advisory board of the University of Central Florida‘s The Center for the Study of Human Trafficking and Modern-Day Slavery program, is concerned about the welfare of approximately 1,500 missing immigrant children, as well as the most recent group separated from their parents at the border.
As someone who has personally witnessed human trafficking, I know how crucial it is for us to police the police, says Elam-Thomas. What is the vetting process for those responsible for these children? Who is accountable for keeping track of them? There needs to be a thorough investigation into their safety, and the loopholes that make children vulnerable in a foreign country with no parent to protect them.
A Career Minister, with 42 years in the U.S. Department of Americas Foreign Service serving in France, Turkey, Greece and Africa, the former Ambassador is heartbroken by the inhumane treatment of immigrant families seeking asylum.
My heart is heavy, my soul is troubled and my faith in my country is being tested each and every day. Where is our conscience? Where is our sense of justice? Where are our morals? Where are we?
Historically, America has a different approach to non-Western or Eastern European refugees or laborers attempting to immigrate to the U.S. The Polish, Irish, Lithuanians, and other white immigrants had the privilege to acquire ambiguous last names and assimilate into society. Black, brown and yellow people cannot hide or become invisible.
Despite our frequent condemnations of other nations human rights violations, our history of human rights violations is not one for which we can be proud. A country that was founded on slavery, racism and unequal treatment of others is repeating the ugly history we would like to forget. I still remember images of children torn from their mothers’ arms and sold at the slave markets. The new Smithsonian Museum – The National Museum of African American History and Culture begins with that sobering history. Scores of people of all races visit there on a daily basis (8,000 per day). Sadly, our current Administration continues to be insensitive to the suffering of innocent children. I doubt the toddlers, orthose young teenagers seeking asylum with their parents, are members of M-13.
From 1942-1945, the U.S. Government instituted laws to intern Japanese citizens after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Japanese internment camps have come to be considered one of the most atrocious violations of American civil rights in the 20th century.
Until the presidents recent executive order, America was guilty, yet again, of manifesting the total opposite of the values that supposedly sets America apart from so many other governments. I cannot imagine being abroad and trying to explain the U.S. Government policy to foreign audiences this past month, or year.
Silence is consent. The unanimous outrage of so many citizens sparked change. We all must continue to use our voices and speak out against the atrocities happening on American soil.
Ambassador Harriet L. Elam-Thomas is Director of the University of Central Florida Diplomacy Program and author ofDiversifying Diplomacy: My Journey from Roxbury to Dakar.” Elam-Thomas’ stellar career with the U.S. Department of America’s Foreign Service spanned forty-two years, during which time President Bill Clinton appointed her to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Senegal
The retired Ambassador will be in New York City from
June 25-July 2, 2018, to launch an initiative titled,
“CIVILITY STRATEGIES: HEALING APPROACHES THAT UNITE PEOPLE AND STRENGTHEN DEMOCRACY.

Oxygen Media, the network for high-quality crime programming, will debut “Serial Killer with Piers Morgan,” hosted and executive produced by renown journalist Piers Morgan,  beginning with two episodes Monday, July 16 at 7PM ET/PT and Monday, July 23 at 7PM ET/PT. With unprecedented access to maximum security prisons, “Serial Killer with Piers Morgan” explores the minds of the most depraved serial killers for the first time. Piers delves into the minds of killers who haunted communities for decades and attempts to discover what drove them to murder. He also meets with victims’ families and law enforcement to understand how the actions of these men wreaked havoc across America as police raced against time to try and catch them before they struck again. In the premiere, Piers meets with Mark Riebe. Riebe was convicted of one murder but confessed to police to the abduction and killing of twelve women, and even though he is incarcerated for just one murder and has since withdrawn these confessions, police believe if true Riebe is one of the worst serial killers in Florida’s history. In the next episode, Piers goes to Lorenzo Gilyard, also known as the Kansas City Strangler. For nearly two decades Gilyard brought fear to the streets of Kansas City, Missouri. Incarcerated for six murders, he is the prime suspect in a further seven. Until now, he has never spoken about his crimes and Piers sets out to discover what drove this seemingly ordinary man to kill.
