Festa della Repubblica Italiana w/ Pirelli

Pirelli celebrated the “Festa della Repubblica Italiana”, Italy’s National Day, with a special “Tri-color” edition of its colored tires, produced specifically for the event.

The tire was donated yesterday by Pirelli to the Italian Ambassador in the US, Mr. Armando Varricchio.

In a number of countries across the world, Pirelli has marked the celebration of Italy’s national day through its product and brand presence. The tri-colored tires will be also fitted on certain Italian embassy vehicles in Germany, the United Kingdom, China, Russia, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. In the Italian diplomatic offices of these countries – as well as Paris, Ankara, Tokyo, Mexico City, Brasilia, Buenos Aires and the “Farnesina”  (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Rome) – a “Tri-color” tire will be on display from 2nd June.

Thanks to its experience in F1® competitions, Pirelli applies colors to road tires with the Pirelli Color Edition, not only embodying made-to-measure performance but also style and design; emphasizing their sporty, unique character. These colored tires use an innovative technology at the Pirelli plant in Bollate, which is located just outside of Milan.

Thursday 14 June 2018, UK: Jose Mourinho surprised a group of schoolchildren with a special lesson before departing for the World Cup.

Mourinho was a secondary school PE teacher for five years before embarking on his record-breaking football management career. He arrived at Bishop Gilpin Church of England Primary School in a Jaguar XF Sportbrake full of brand new football equipment, which he donated to the children as part of an inspiring afternoon in class.

“Inside me there is always a teacher. Coming back to school as a kid; or a teacher brings back a lot of special memories. You create your own identity; and develop your own personality and principles.  It is the period you most enjoy in life.”

Mourinho was confronted by a star-struck group of children, who interrogated him about his favourite school memories, Father’s Day; and the naughtiest players he works with. One cheeky pupil even asked the football manager to make a sponsorship donation for his school marathon.

“My life is full of memories with my father – his name was also Jose – and being a father is the best job.  Even if my job doesn’t allow me to see my children every day, on Father’s Day; we’ll have a special lunch or dinner if we can,” added Mourinho ahead of Father’s Day in the UK on Sunday.

Speaking before he departs for a week in Russia, Mourinho was optimistic about England’s chances.

“England have a good group of young, experienced players. All of them play in the best domestic competition in the world; and have experience of playing in the Champions League. So yes, I think they can do it.”

Mourinho was coy about the chances of pre-tournament favourites- France, Brazil, Germany and Argentina– but he emphasised the importance of teams as well as great individuals.

“They have good squads but good squads do not always make good teams. Sometimes not so special squads, in theory, can make better teams. For example, Portugal in the Euros had far from the best squad but they did it.”

Mourinho was part of the launch of the Jaguar XF Sportbrake in 2017 when he helped with Andy Murray’s first-ever replica Wimbledon trophy tour.

The Jaguar XF Sportbrake is an award-winning saloon that delivers a compelling combination of design, driving dynamics and advanced technologies. The dynamic estate’s innovations include an intuitive gesture-controlled sunblind for the Sportbrake’s super-sized, full-length, panoramic roof, Driver Condition Monitoring to detect signs of tiredness after an active day and a waterproof Activity Key you can wear while playing sport.

The Jaguar XF Sportbrake is available from £36,545. Check it out at Jaguarusa.com or on Instagram at Jaguar USA Instagram

“Growing Pains” Lyrics:
(verse 1)
Make my way through the motions
I try to ignore it
But home’s looking farther the closer I get
Don’t know why I can’t see the end
Is it over yet?

A short leash and a short fuse
Don’t match
They tell me it ain’t that bad
“now, don’t you overreact”
So I just hold my breath
Don’t know why I can’t see the sun
When young should be fun

(Pre-chorus)
And I guess the bad can get better
Gotta be wrong before it’s right
Every happy phrase engraved in my mind
And I’ve always been a go-getter
There’s truth in every word I write
But still the growing pains, growing pains
They’re keeping me up at night

(Chorus)
(hey hey x8)
And I can’t hide
‘cause growing pains are keeping me up
at night (x2)

(verse 2)
Try to mend what’s left
Of my content incomprehension
As I take on the stress
Of the mess that I’ve made
Don’t know if I even care for “grown”
If it’s just alone

(pre chorus)
(chorus)

(Bridge)
It’s starting to look like
Ms. Know-it-All can’t take her own advice
Can’t find
Pieces of my peace of mind
I Cry
More than I want to admit but I can’t lie
To myself, to anyone
Cause phoning it in isn’t any fun
Cant run
Back to my youth the way I want to
The days my brother was quicker to fool
AM radio, not much to do
Used monsters as an excuse
To lie awake
Now that monsters are the ones that I
Have to face
No band-aids for the growing pains
