Jazz Cartier New Single

Juno Award-winning critically acclaimed rapper Jazz Cartier shares his new single GODFLOWER. It’s available at all digital retailers via Universal Music Canada/Capitol Records.

Get it HERE.

Speaking to his panoramic vision, an intriguing concept drives the record. He comments, The driving force of Fleurever is duality whether it’s battling the balances of love and money, risks and rewards, right and wrong, or living and dying. I shed a lot of old layers in order to grow new wings.

A tastemaker favorite, XXL placed him at #1 on its Canadian Artists You Should Know, Noisey crowned him, one of the leaders of a new wave of hip-hop, and Billboard wrote, Jazz Cartier reigns from the Canadian capital. In a review of How Did I Get This Deep? Pitchfork claimed, Jazz Cartier has been tipped as the next big rapper out of Toronto, and if the lead single from his forthcoming Fleurever mixtape offers any indication, he may have finally arrived.

‘Champagne’

Champagne, the brand-new track from singer, actress, and YouTube creator Lia Marie Johnson, is out today and available via all digital service providers. The yearning, trip-hop-laced break-up ballad was co-written by Johnson and producer Nick Ruth, Brittany Amaradio, and Koko LaRoo. LISTEN HERE.

Named one of V Magazine’s Artists To Watch, Johnson has released two previous tracks, DNAa deeply personal song about her father’s battle with addiction that is fast-approaching 50 million streams worldwide, and Cold Heart Killerwhich has over 7 million streams. She is also featured on DJ-producer R3HAB’s latest single The Wave, of which Billboard says, “Lia Marie Johnson has a voice that drips with depth and beauty. She breathes like smoke over the deep blue sound, and before you know it, you’re drawn in head-to-toe, jerkin’ your shoulders to the suddenly plunky synths.

Of Cold Heart Killer, V Magazine declares, Musically, Johnson has taken a huge step forward. The electronic ballad showcases a mature sound that will no doubt transport its listeners to Johnson’s steamy and conflicted subconscious Nylon says, Johnson has managed to add a flair of pop to the sparsely agro-electronic R&B sound for Cold Heart Killer. Where DNA showcased her willingness to go there emotionally, ‘Cold Heart Killer’ explores the numbing side of love.” Teen Vogue raves, (DNA is) without a doubt the kind of song that you won’t be able to get out of your head. It’s guaranteed to haunt you, thanks to its compelling music and powerful lyrics.

Johnson first became known via her YouTube channel, followed by roles in the Emmy-winning web series REACT, which is the most successful web series in history with close to one billion views. In 2017, she was named one of the Top 100 YouTubers in the world with over 1.7 million subscribers. The 21-year-old San Diego native also has an actively engaged 1.5 million Instagram followers. Johnson starred in the AwesomenessTV/Dreamworks Animation film Expelled opposite Cameron Dallas, American Wrestler: The Wizard with Jon Voight, the TV series T@gged, and the YouTube Red thriller The Thinning. She will appear this fall in the Cuba Gooding Jr.-directed film Louisiana Caviar, alongside Gooding Jr., Richard Dreyfuss, and Famke Janssen, and executive-produced by Oscar winner Paul Haggis.

Let’s Go Sunshine

The Kooks are set to release their long-awaited fifth studio album, Let’s Go Sunshine, on August 31 via Lonely Cat / AWAL Recordings. The album is brash and bold with songs that mix melancholy and euphoria. The band has released two new songs off the album, No Pressure and All The Time and will embark on a sold- out US tour beginning May 21 in Boston, MA at the House of Blues and wrap June 7 in Los Angeles, CA at The Wiltern. The Kooks will also be hitting cities across Europe this summer, including shows opening up for The Rolling Stones. Please see full tour routing below. Click HERE to pre-order Let’s Go Sunshine.

With the roar of their recent sold-out UK arena tour still echoing in their ears and more than one billion streams under their belts, The Kooks reach to claim their place in the Great British Songbook with Let’s Go SunshineIt’s a bold long player that distils their timeless sound into its purest form while pushing it forward into a more expansive and mature space. It’s as moving, energizing and timelessly melodic record and incisive in its portrait of modern British urban life. The heart and soul of the record lies in its hymns of lost innocence, fading relationships and the process of break-up and recovery. It’s the sound of an ambitious, confident band stepping out and making a statement with their definitive album. Let’s Go Sunshine sees the band cement their status as true bastions of British guitar pop and take their rightful place at the top table next to the celebrated bands that influenced them in their infancy, over a decade ago.

Discussing the process behind creating the album, lead singer Luke says: This one was about defining who we are, we were asking the questions. It was a fractured start, we went into the studio in 2015 continuing down the path we set out on our last studio album Listen and discovered it wasn’t what we wanted to make and wasn’t really The Kooks. So, we scrapped it and started again. I really went on a mission to write the best songs I’d ever written before bringing them to the band, I stewed over every word. It had to be our Rubber Soul, Lola, Definitely Maybe. Proper British lineage. I came from a dark place at the start had a lotta heartbreak and then falling in love in the middle of the album, the lyrics reflect that. From Fractured and Dazed to No Pressure. It’s gotta be our most exciting album, and it should get you dancing.

The Kooks started their career with a bang in 2006 with their unstoppable debut Inside In/Inside Out, which went five times platinum at the end of last year. The four-piece band have continued to go from strength to strength. With three more studio albums including a Best of, the band have acquired over 1 billion streams worldwide and embarked on a number of massive world tours including their forthcoming sold-out US tour. With awards and critical acclaim under their belts, they’ve maintained a steady ascent to the top, constantly growing in popularity throughout the last decade.

With a legion of new fans discovering the band through streaming in recent years, The Kooks delivered a career defining show last year at London’s Wembley Arena, whilst pulling some of the biggest crowds across the summer festival circuits. 2018 sees The Kooks redefined, varied and ready to go again at their most confident.

Oxygen Media Upcoming Series

OXYGEN MEDIA ANNOUNCES PREMIERE DATES

Oxygen Media, the destination for high quality crime programming, announces premieres dates for three upcoming original series beginning Sunday, June 3 with “Buried in the Backyard” at 7pm ET/PT  immediately followed by “A Wedding and A Murder” at 8pm ET/PT. The suspense continues on Saturday, June 9 at 6pm ET/PT with the debut of “The Price of Duty” which follows homicide detectives as they recount the most haunting case of their careers.

About the upcoming series:

“Buried in the Backyard” examines true-crime stories of victims found buried in the most unsuspecting of places. While most people enjoy their backyard as a safe haven, others are not so lucky when they discover the horrors lurking beneath well-trimmed hedges and manicured fences. Uncovering the remains is only the beginning, however, as each hour-long episode follows a unique police investigation to identify the body, determine a cause of death and find the person responsible. Captivating recreations, along with first-hand accounts from those closest to the victims and law enforcement agents involved in the case, bring each shocking tale to life. As investigators dig into the “how” and “why” surrounding each crime, viewers are taken on an unpredictable journey and reminded that this could happen to anyone – in any home, in any neighborhood.

“A Wedding and a Murder” examines the true stories of engagements, weddings, and picture-perfect honeymoons that went from joyous celebration to untimely death.  Each hour-long episode will expose a grisly homicide set against the backdrop of what appears to be wedded bliss. The series will chronicle many cases including the well-known disappearance of Annie Le, a young beautiful Yale student who vanished before her wedding as well as Gail and Rick Brink, happy newlyweds whose marriage ended in a tragedy and remained unsolved for decades until an unexpected witness revealed a disturbing family secret.  From the bride and groom, to a family member, or even a jealous wedding guest – anyone could be the victim or suspect when marriage serves as the powerful catalyst for murder.

The Price of Duty” follows dedicated detectives from across the country as they recount their stories of complex cases that have emotionally impacted and changed their lives forever. Each episode explores the emotional rollercoaster of how investigators sacrificed their personal lives to solve these seemingly impossible cases. They shed their stoic exteriors to expose their vulnerability and reveal the personal struggles they endured while working tirelessly to solve these unthinkable crimes.  With first-hand narrative of the detectives, along with their families, the victim’s families and other law enforcement involved, the show reveals the impact these horrific crimes had on everyone involved. The remarkable stories demonstrate how the detectives put everything on the line to help grieving families find justice while becoming ingrained in their lives forever.

“Buried in the Backyard” is produced by Renegade 83 with Jay Renfroe, David Garfinkle, Bob Kusbit and Jeff Kuntz serving as executive producers.

“A Wedding and a Murder” is produced by Leepson Bounds Entertainment with David Leepson, Stephanie Lydecker, Mary Bissell and Daniel Schulman serving as executive producers.

“The Price of Duty” is produced by The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) with Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, Bill Pruitt, Jackson Nguyen and Todd Crites serving as executive producers.

THE BLANCOS “KNOW MY NAME”

DEBUT EP COMING SOON

NEW YORK, NY (May 18, 2018) — Here to save the world from neutered politically correct indie rock and boring so-called “alternative,” Brooklyn/South Florida duo THE BLANCOS are on a mission to offend and inspire with their new single “Know My Name.

It’s out now via LAVA/Republic Records. Get it HERE.

The guys — Cory Hueston and Jayson Robbins—teamed up with Complex to debut a raucous and rowdy music video for the tune. When speaking about the record, THE BLANCOS state, “It’s all about self-belief. Speaking things into existence, despite the odds being against you.

Watch it HERE.

You’ve got to hear it to believe it, but THE BLANCOS spread a gospel of sex, drugs, and 808s powered by woozy guitars, drug-fueled harmonies, and a healthy dose of sexy swagger.

It’s just the first hit though. They’re preparing their major label debut EP for release very new soon. Get ready!

If they’re not your favorite band after “Know My Name, you have another thing coming…

As the story goes, THE BLANCOS got their name from a homie of theirs during the months spent recording at a Brownsville studio in Brooklyn. They rolled up as literally, “The Blancos,” but could hang nonetheless. Since then, they’ve ingested way too many drugs, wrote not enough songs, and slept on just the right amount of floors to earn Rockstar stripes. That spirit caught LAVA Records founder Jason Flom off guard, and he immediately signed the band during late 2017. They had a caveat though. “They had to let us be ourselves, adds Jayson. “Know My Name” is proof. Now, you’re going to know THE BLANCOS name when their major label debut EP drops. If you love it, come join the cult. If it offends you…well, you know what to do.

MEET MY MOM

Reese Witherspoon’s media company Hello Sunshine launched a new show just in time for Mother’s Day called Meet My Mom. Premiering on Facebook’s video platform Facebook Watch, each episode consists of an honest and entertaining chat between one of your favorite celebrities and their mom.

In a recent episode, Olympic figure skating superstar Adam Rippon goes toe to toe with his mom Kelly about chasing his Olympic dreams, raising six exceptional kids, and the Pyeongchang moment that meant the most to both of them. See other highlights from Adam’s conversation with his mom below:

  • Regarding Adam’s coming out as gay, Kelly recounted being fearful for one reason – the prejudice within United States Figure Skating: “That’s one of the things that we might not have agreed on, right? For one reason: I knew the talk and the prejudice that existed in the sport.”
  • But then, Kelly learned a valuable lesson regarding personal identity and authenticity: “Suddenly, now, I knew you were mature enough to say, ‘The Olympics is awesome, but if I can’t be who I am at the Olympics, it’s not so awesome.’”
  • On her own personal “Olympic moment”: “When your brother…when Brady hugged you and wouldn’t let you go, and I saw two grown men just respect each other so much, crying, and seeing, like, his shoulders heaving, with that kind of respect for you, that was probably my Olympic moment.”
