Prince Harry played a huge role in preparing for Meghan Markle’s bouquet as he had picked some of the flowers himself from their private garden at Kensington Palace. The bouquet was designed by florist Philippa Craddock. What’s really sweet is that Prince Harry had included some of Princess Diana’s favorite flowers. Forget-Me-Nots were chosen by the couple to be included as a part of their wedding in the loving memory of Princess Diana. Other flowers that were seen in the bouquet were sweet peas, lily of the valley, astilbe, jasmine, astrantia, and myrtle (a royal tradition). The flowers were delicately bound together by a raw silk ribbon.

Royal Wedding
Below is an exclusive first-hand commentary from royal wedding expert and British bridal designer, Caroline Castigliano, who was on-site at Windsor Castle covering the royal wedding. She has included commentary on her thoughts of Meghan’s wedding dress and how it compares to past Royal wedding gowns.
What do you think of the outfit overall – dress, veil/tiara, shoes etc?
We have been counting down the days speculating the Royal dress designer and Meghan has made her moment in history wearing Givenchy, Clare Waight Keller…
Meghan has made her entrance in a minimal gown and have certainly differentiated herself from Kate who did it all in lace! Meghan has brought the splendor here with a long veil…
Meghan looks thoroughly modern with her choice of gown and has given her nod to the Royal family and Queen by following the Royal tradition of covering her shoulders and a long sleeve! She entered St Georges Chapel – a moment of history in a simplistic style…
The dress is a boat neck wedding dress is a wonderful style. It’s a wide neckline that follows the curve of the collarbone and ends at the shoulders.
Her hair is gorgeous in a low swept bun!
Meghan is a fresh young American with a million dollar smile the cameras love and she looks fantastic entering the British establishment in a fantastic gown.
Meghan is going into a family that has been seen in the public eye for 1,000 years and has definitely made her mark with this wedding gown…which is quite remarkable in the way it’s so simplistic compared to other dressed we have seen on Diana and Kate!
Meghan has had the World in suspense with what she will wear, and with such high expectations on her she has not failed to disappoint…
Meghan has certainly created a name for herself fashion wise – she is following in the footsteps of Diana who was a fashion icon in the public eye for 16 years… and has done a fabulous modern job!
Royal brides are normally expected to support British designers in the UK rather than choosing designer abroad but Meghan has gone with a French luxury design house here which is a different choice from other Royal brides…
The whole wedding is picture perfect and fairytale like with all of the bridesmaids looking fabulous!
Is it what you expected/predicated?
I believed the gown would be a very straight, fitted dress, with a big 9-foot train coming off the dress from the side to create the drama. I did think she would have a bit of lace and there is some lace detailing on the veils.
I predicted Meghan would have some kind of edge to her wedding dress, but I was certain Meghan’s dress would be classic, elegant with traditional features. I predicted Meghan would give a big nod to the Queen and Royal family with covered shoulders, a long sleeve and high back. But I was expecting Meghan would show her personality by wearing a fitted dress and we haven’t seen a Royal wearing a fitted gown for a long while… I thought a fitted gown would be the way Meghan showed her personality alongside respecting Royal tradition when it comes to Royal gowns. The gown is certainly more fitted than other brides we have seen!
Initially we thought the gown would be Ralph & Russo, but the brand has been in the press a great deal ahead of the wedding, which is an unusual move if they were actually the designer. Ralph & Russo gowns are super expensive so wearing a 100k gown may have seemed ostentations to the public.
Yesterday, our bets were on Stella McCartney, but as Oprah and Amal Clooney both arrived wearing Stella, that was a surprise to us and we thought it must be a different designer if they are wearing Stella… I thought Stella was such a perfect for Meghan as Stella used organic fabrics and her ethos is very much the same as Meghan!
Meghan has totally surprised us wearing Claire Waight, Givenchy! This was totally not talked about in the press at all and they kept it all top secret!
How does it compare to the Duchess of Cambridge’s dress?
The Duchess of Cambridge’s dress was one of lace decorum – she looked super elegant as a bride and Kate gave us a Royal dress to remember.
Meghan has totally differentiated her style here by wearing a plain gown rather than lace and the shaping is totally different as well!
Meghan has a totally different style to Kate when it comes to her hair, Kate loves a good blow dry whereas Meghan prefers wearing her hair up!
Is the dress similar to any other royal wedding gowns? (eg Kate’s was compared to Princess Grace of Monaco’s.)
Kate Middleton’s gown took a style lead from Grace Kelly’s dress, the intricate applique bodice and sleeves of Catherine’s mirrored the wedding. The similarities don’t end there, both gowns shared a high-waist, full-skirt and a long dramatic train and both wore a sheer veil and diamond tiara!
I would say that Meghan has gone quite, Wallis Simpson (almost royalty) – Wallis dress was designed by Mainbocher, it was very modern in its time, much like the look Meghan has gone for. The gown was made of a crepe silk and featured a long slim skirt much like Meghan has gone for here! Wallis was known has a fashion weapon and was a super glamorous art deco women!
How does Meghan’s dress compare to the one she wore in Suits and the dress at her first wedding?
This is the first time we’ve seen a Royal bride very publicly in a wedding gown – since Meghan’s on screen character Rachel on Suits got married. Meghan’s gown is totally the opposite to what we saw in Suits, which was a v-neck gown by Anne Barge, an Atlanta based designer. Her wedding look in Suits was quite bohemian and Princess like compared with Meghan’s demure look today! In complete contrast the wedding gown on Suits was beaded and accessorized with a black belt and Meghan has gone the total opposite today with a minimal accessories and a plain look! Her gown in Suits was certainly sassy but she has had to please the Queen and country today and opt for tradition!
The Royal Wedding
Decca Records is proud to release The Official Recording of The Royal Wedding, one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year. Having recorded the entire service live at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle today, every piece of music, the readings, blessings and the vows will be available to listen to permanently on all streaming services in just a few hours: a first for a Royal Wedding. The physical album, on CD, will then be released into retail stores around the world from 25th May. The recording will also be made available on vinyl. The album cover will be replaced with an exclusive photograph from the wedding.
The musical highlight of the moving and joyous ceremony was British cellist, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, one of the most exciting musicians of his generation, who was personally asked by the bride and groom to perform at their wedding. The 19-year-old musician took centre stage for the all-important signing of the register. Dressed in a black Paul Smith suit with vibrant pink tie, Sheku played three beautiful pieces: Sicilienne by von Paradis, Schubert’s Ave Maria, and Apres Un Reave by Faur. He was accompanied by orchestra*, as the Royal Couple officially became husband and wife. Knowing he was performing not only for the Royal Family, 600 invited guests in the Chapel, and an estimated global audience of up to three billion people, the talented teenager was thrilled to be involved in the occasion.
“It was such an awesome moment, just really incredible to perform for Prince Harry and Meghan at their wedding! The atmosphere was amazing and I’m proud to have played a small part in the celebrations. It’s a day I will remember for the rest of my life,” Sheku Kanneh-Mason (Cellist).
Enhancing the emotion of the occasion, the personal musical choices of Prince Harry and his new wife, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, include Handel’s Eternal Source of Light Divine, John Rutter’s The Lord Bless You and Keep You and the hymn Lord Of All Hopefulness, as well as two popular tracks performed by The Kingdom Choir conducted by Karen Gibson: Ben E. King’s hit song Stand By Me and the gospel tune This Little Light Of Mine. The orchestra was fronted by Welsh soprano Elin Manahan Thomas and accompanied by trumpet player David Blackadder, organist Luke Bond and State Trumpeters from the Band of the Household Cavalry.
The album’s producer is one of the world’s most experienced, Anna Barry. Grammy nominated Ms Barry has produced over 500 recordings over 25 years, ranging from works by Andrew Lloyd Webber to opera at the Mariinsky Theatre with Valery Gergiev, and many other legendary artists including Jos Carreras and Zubin Mehta.
In a feat of both musical engineering and co-ordination, Anna and the team are delivering a state of the art recording in record-breaking time. The complicated logistical process includes the digital transfer from St George’s Chapel to the mastering in a Kensington studio in order to reach digital platforms faster even than for the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The producer said of the recording, “It is a massive responsibility with absolutely no room for error, so I will be relieved when it’s over, but very happy and honoured to be a part of this day,” Anna Barry (Record Producer).
Decca Records is part of Universal Music, the world’s leading music company, and has previously recorded and released the Wedding of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011, as well as the Wedding of The Prince and Princess of Wales in 1981, and the Funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997. This uniquely original new recording, released today, will be the next in a historic line to mark major milestones for The Royal Family, and as such it will enter the homes of millions across the whole world.
Rebecca Allen, President of Decca Records commented: Decca are hugely honoured to have been involved in recording this remarkable day. The choices of music, and the artists involved, were of the highest quality and will now be available for everyone around the world to listen back to, again and again.
Dickon Stainer, President & CEO, Global Classics & Jazz said: “Every word and every note of music from this historic event are now captured forever in the highest quality sound recording. It is something magical and unforgettable.”
Decca will make a donation per album sold to support the charitable work of The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. The Royal Foundation is used as the main vehicle for Their Royal Highnesses’ philanthropic activities, including programmes such as Heads Together, Coach Core, and the Endeavour Fund (reg. charity no. 1132048). Ms. Markle will join The Royal Foundation as its fourth Patron following her marriage.

All the Kids are Depressed
Today, multi-talented singer, songwriter and producer, Jeremy Zucker, debuts the powerful short film for his single, “all the kids are depressed”—watch and share here. Directed by filmmaker Drew Kirsch (Felix Jaehn, blackbear, Louis the Child, Quinn XCII), the video premieres today on Buzzfeed.
Of the video, Zucker says, “For people watching this video, I hope that they feel comfort. That they’re not alone. That it’s important to talk about mental illness. That confronting the way they’re feeling and exchanging experiences can make things better, even if it’s just for a moment.”
“all the kids are depressed” is taken from Zucker’s latest EP, glisten, out now. The EP also features his single, “better off” with rising artist Chelsea Cutler. See the full tracklist below.
Before entrancing listeners across the world, 21-year-old singer, songwriter and producer Jeremy Zucker had been quietly carving out his distinct sound from a bedroom in suburban New Jersey. A self-described “social introvert,” Zucker cites Jon Bellion, blackbear, EDEN, Bon Iver and Wet among his strongest influences. In the summer of 2015, Zucker released his first official EP titled Beach Island. The project saw a small amount of success, and from there Zucker steadily began to build a dedicated fan base.
Later that year, he released a stream of singles that would eventually be packaged together as an EP titled Breathe. The project’s breakout single “Bout It” quickly garnered millions of streams as it organically spread across Soundcloud and Spotify, drawing the attention of curators and fans across the world. In 2016, Zucker released his third EP, Motions, which features “Heavy,” a song that was later remixed by the recording artist blackbear who reached out to Jeremy after stumbling across his music on Soundcloud. The remix, “Make Daddy Proud,” was released on blackbear’s latest LP Digital Druglord. In 2017, Zucker was signed with Republic Records and released his third EP, idle. The EP features his breakout hit, “talk is overrated” (feat. blackbear), which has over 15 million Spotify streams to date. Further music is set for release this spring.

The Leeu Collection
Luxury hotel group Leeu Collection (www.leeucollection.com) has taken a 10% stake in Alajmo S.p.A (www.alajmo.it), the Italian family business established by brothers Massimiliano (Max) Alajmo, the world’s youngest three-star Michelin chef, and Raffaele (Raf), the company’s Chief Executive and maître des lieux.
The purchase mirrors previous investments made by Analjit (BAS) Singh, the owner of Leeu Collection, all of which have a family focus; companies such as South African Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines and Indian chef Ritu Dalmia’s Riga Foods and Mamagoto.
Alajmo S.p.A. operates four fine-dining restaurants and six café-bistros, including Le Calandre and La Montecchia restaurants in Padua, Caffè Stern in Paris and Grancaffè & Ristorante Quadri in St. Mark’s Square, Venice, as well as a line of food products and a special events business, all overseen by Max from Le Calandre, his vibrant culinary laboratory, which has held three Michelin stars since 2003.
Leeu Collection currently has three properties (Leeu Estates, Leeu House and Le Quartier Français) in Franschhoek, South Africa, with Linthwaite House in the Lake District due to re-open following a year-long refurbishment in June 2018. Two further hotels are under construction in London and Florence.
Said Raf Alajmo, CEO of Alajmo S.p.A., “Having, last year, bought back the shares once owned by Italian investment firm Palladio Finanziaria, my brother and I decided to open our doors to a foreign shareholder. A chance meeting with BAS in Milan has led to him purchasing a share of Alajmo S.p.A., in what we sincerely hope will be the first step towards a strong alliance between our two companies.”
In response, Analjit Singh said, “I am always attracted to invest in family businesses that share a similar vision to mine and, because there are a lot of synergies between Leeu and Alajmo, I feel sure that the results of this partnership will be seen for years to come.”

Notes for editors
LEEU COLLECTION: (in Sanskrit singh means lion, which is leeu in Afrikaans) comprises three five-star boutique properties in South Africa (Leeu Estates, a 17-room country house retreat and boutique winery in the Franschhoek valley; Leeu House, a 12-room hotel in the heart of Franschhoek village; and Le Quartier Français, a 32-room hotel including two independent Villas also located in the Village) and Linthwaite House, a country retreat overlooking Lake Windermere in England’s scenic Lake District (this boutique hotel, situated on 5.6 hectares of landscaped gardens, is now closed for renovation and will re-open in June 2018).
Extending beyond the offering of luxury accommodation, Analjit Singh (or BAS as he is affectionately known) is a partner in Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines, which produces award-winning wines in the Swartland wine region some 80km north of Cape Town.
Several restaurants complement the Leeu Collection hotels in Franschhoek. Heritage Square is home to Marigold, Franschhoek’s first Indian restaurant, and, adjacent to Leeu House, stands Tuk Tuk, a craft beer microbrewery in partnership with the award-winning Cape Brewing Company team, which serves bespoke brews and Mexican food.
Everard Read in partnership with Leeu Collection is a considered space in Franschhoek showing modern and contemporary artworks by Southern African artists. The Gallery includes a sculpture garden, interspersed with herbs and vegetables and is located adjacent to Le Quartier Français.
ALAJMO S.p.A. is an Italian restaurant group owned by brothers Massimiliano (Max) and Raffaele (Raf) Alajmo. The group’s flagship restaurant, Le Calandre, is located just outside the town of Padua and was originally opened by the Max and Raf’s parents in 1981. The restaurant has been honored with three Michelin stars since 2003 and has appeared on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants since 2006.
Il Calandrino, a casual bistro and pastry shop, is located next door, while In.gredienti, a gourmet food shop with dine-in tables, is located across the street.
The family also operates La Montecchia (* Michelin) and abc Montecchia, located inside an elegant golf club near the Euganean Hills, near Padua.
In 2010, the culinary collection expanded to Venice with the takeover of Quadri, home to Ristorante Quadri (* Michelin), Quadrino and Caffè Quadri, a historic coffeehouse in St. Mark’s Square. Also in Venice, the Alajmo brothers opened AMO, a café/restaurant located inside the T Fondaco dei Tedeschi building.
In 2014, the Alajmo brothers opened Caffè Stern. Located in the heart of Paris in a former letterpress shop, Caffè Stern is a French national historic monument that has been transformed into a stylish Italian restaurant.
In order to support growing and diversified internal needs, in early 2018, the Alajmo group opened MammaRita lab, a large production facility and new home to their corporate offices. The lab also acts as space for research and development.
Two more properties are due to open by the end of the year, a restaurant in Marrakesh and a new concept in Milan. The Milan opening will be managed by a new company.
