– The new partnership with the prestigious equestrian event is part of a four-year deal, demonstrating continued support of the equestrian community
The Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event, taking place at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY April 26-29, 2018, is set to be the biggest edition yet. After 5 years as the presenting sponsor of the event, and a principal partner of US Equestrian for the past 8 years, Land Rover will assume the role of title sponsor. Tagged as the ‘Best Weekend all Year,’ the Land Rover brand will enhance the Kentucky Three-Day Event with new consumer activations for the entire family.
With the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon taking place in September, this year’s starting line-up is anticipated to be one of the most competitive yet as riders aim to make their mark ahead of team selection.
The renowned equestrian competition, won in 2017 by three-time Olympic gold medalist and current world no. 1, Michael Jung of Germany, will be sure to challenge those striving for their share of the significant $400,000 prize money.
As part of Land Rover’s partnership with the event, the triumphant rider of the inaugural Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event will not only claim their share of the prize fund, but also will be presented with the keys to a 12-month lease of a Land Rover Discovery. The keys to the car will be awarded to the winning rider by Kim McCullough, Vice President of Marketing for Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC following the Show Jumping finale.
“We are very excited to be returning to the Kentucky Three-Day Event, one of the most prestigious equestrian events in the world. Land Rover’s long-standing affiliation with equestrian sport has been strengthened by taking on the new role as title sponsor, making for an even more exciting year ahead.” said Kim McCullough, Vice President, Marketing, Jaguar Land Rover North America.
Situated within the Sponsor Village will be the newly created ‘Start Off-Road’ Teen Driving Experience, aimed at introducing young adults ages 14 years old and up to the exhilaration of driving, while maintaining the importance of car control and safety behind the wheel1. Teenage drivers will drive either the Land Rover Discovery Sport or Range Rover Evoque on a multi-terrain course all under the watchful and highly trained eyes of a Land Rover Driving Instructor.
Not wanting to disappoint the younger members of the family, Land Rover will also run a ‘Junior Drive Experience’ for children aged four through eight years old in mini electric cars, modeled on the original Land Rover Series I vehicle, on a specially created course1.
Adult ticket holders are invited to test-drive the full-size Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery, the midsize Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar on a purpose-built off-road course which is designed to highlight the vehicles’ deep breadth of capability, and refined luxury.
The Land Rover brand’s ‘Ultimate Stable Experience’ was created in 2017 to provide attendees insight into the six different Land Rover models, each which encompass their own defining characteristics, personality and positioning. Given the excitement around that first event the program returns in 2018 showcasing the brand’s compact Land Rover Discovery Sport SUV. It will be displayed alongside a range of top equestrian apparel and equipment. As part of the Stable Experience, visitors will have a chance to meet some of the competitors at rider autograph signings; there will even be a miniature pony for younger fans to pose with for photographs.
The seventh annual “Land Rover Tailgate Experience,” which invites participants to showcase their most inspired vision of a quintessential British designed tailgate, is back. The winner will receive an exclusive ticket package and tailgate spot for the 2019 Three-Day Event.
Lastly, for those attending with canine companions they are encouraged to head to the “Rover Lounge,” located next to the “Test Drive” area, where furry friends can find treats and fresh water during their visit.
As one of only six annual Four Star Three-Day Events in the world, over 80,000 spectators are predicted to make their way to the Kentucky Horse Park to catch the four days of supreme action. The event will be telecast on the NBC Network on Sunday May 6, 2018 between 2:00-3:00 pm EDT and will re-air on the Olympic Channel on Saturday, May 26, between 3:00 – 4:00 pm EDT. Go to the USEF Network for livestream details of the competition that will air daily.

Following their explosive debut song “No One Defeats Us,” DREAMS have dropped their new track “Silence” today via Astralwerks. On the day of their first ever live performance at Coachella, “Silence” reveals a darker side and pulse to DREAMS, led by the brooding vocals of Daniel Johns. The duo also shares a striking video for the track, which can be viewed HERE.

A much-anticipated debut live set at Coachella this weekend promises high drama and a truly unmissable performance. The only band ever to be booked for the festival before releasing any music, the duo is the highest-billed Australian band. DREAMS will perform tonight at 8:40pm on the Mojave Stage. The duo will also perform next Friday, April 20. Fans can view their performance via the live stream on the Official Coachella YouTube Channel.
“Silence’ is a song which came to us after the Charlottesville riots. It broke our hearts to see the violence and hatred that occurred. We wanted this song to elevate the people, let their voices be heard, inspire them with courage and bravery.” Luke Steele (aka Miracle) says of the track. Daniel Johns (aka Dr Dreams), says “The live version is out of this world and we cannot wait to debut it at Coachella. »
DREAMS is the realization of a long-time friendship and musical kinship between these two iconic Australian artists. Daniel Johns is best known as the front man of Silverchair whilst the enigmatic Luke Steele fronts Empire of The Sun and The Sleepy Jackson. The artists first met in 2004 when Luke’s band The Sleepy Jackson supported Silverchair on their sold-out Diorama tour.
With over ten million albums sold worldwide and an undefeatable twenty-nine ARIA Awards won between both of their respective acts, the pedigree of Daniel and Luke’s new collaboration is unquestionable.
Since Silverchair’s debut release “Tomorrow” in 1994, Daniel has taken home a record twenty-one statues, the most of any Australian artist in ARIA history. Daniel has also won APRA Songwriter of the Year three times, and impressively, Silverchair is the only Australian act to have all of their studio albums, five in total, debut at #1 on the ARIA chart.
Sweeping the ARIAs clean in 2008 was Luke Steele’s Empire of the Sun, taking home gongs for Best Album, Best Single, Best Group and Best Pop Release. With a total of eight ARIAs and two APRA song writing awards to date, Empire of the Sun has gone from strength to strength internationally, including a spectacular sold out performance at Hollywood Bowl in 2015, in front of an audience of 17,000 US fans.

As the headlines warn of a world seemingly taking steps backward, behavioral scientist Dr. Kristen Lee shares a new psychology of thinking to move you forward with a new mindset and patterns of behaviors that inspire connection, collaboration, proactivity, and creativity.
Based on twenty years of clinical practice and neuroscientific research, Dr. Kristen Lee teaches us how to see the world―and its most difficult situations―through a series of different lenses, to steer our brains to cultivate “upward spiral habits.” This is what psychologists call “The Good Life”—living mindfully and consciously regardless of what is going on around us. Instead of falling into common behavioral traps which lead to perpetual patterns of shutting down, numbing out, binding up, and staying stuck.
MENTALLIGENCE: A New Psychology of Thinking helps us find the thinking and behavioral agility to work toward better outcomes for all.
* Rethink the many forms of social conditioning to reduce mindlessness, ignorance, and compulsions towards insularity, hatred, bias, and fear.
• Advance human progress through empathy, curiosity, familiarity, and unconditional regard.
* Avoid the 4 common downward spiral behavioral traps: Sleepwalking, Perfectionism, Centricism, and Lockdown.
* Learn how to become impact-driven instead of performance-obsessed.
* Discover how to work with “collective efficacy” that is less I-focused and more we-focused, to facilitate positive social impact at a time when it’s desperately needed.
• Refuse to be held hostage by bigotry, ignorance and polarization, and instead link arms in solidarity to find common ground and get to the Good Life together.

Isaac Gracie’s highly anticipated, self-titled debut album is out now via Virgin EMI/Republic Records.
The album was largely produced by Markus Dravs at RAK Studios in London and features eleven tracks, including Gracie’s recent tracks, “Last Words,” “Terrified” and “The Death of You & I.” See the full tracklisting below.
Of his debut album, Gracie says, “Over the course of the two years it took to complete this record, I learnt more about myself and about music than I had in the entirety of my prior life. It was the biggest test I’ve ever undertaken and a winding journey that I won’t forget. To now have the record as a physical representation of a heavy and formative time in my life, that can be traced and re-remembered through listening to it, is an awesome and unique reward for the time and effort and love that was spent.”
In celebration of the album, Gracie is set to embark on a UK tour throughout April, followed by a European tour throughout May. See the full list of show dates below. Tickets are available now here.
23-year-old London-raised singer-songwriter Isaac Gracie has been finding his feet, working out who he is and discovering what he wants since the industry spotlight fell on him. The fuss was caused by a dusty-sounding, careworn home recording of “Last Words” that was uploaded online without expectation and any anticipation of what was to follow. The voice behind it was completely new to the premise of where writing a great song might lead him. Even now he’d tell you that he’s still slowly working it all out, but this debut collection sounds as fully-realized and confident as any of recent memory. Isaac Gracie is a new British voice, poetic in his placement of words and accomplished in their delivery.

The skies over West Texas are the area number four of the seven best spots on Earth for stargazing making it the perfect place for an amateur photographer like myself to attempt to capture the Milky Way on film. I opted to bypass the uber trendy town of Marfa and stay in the more laid back town of Marathon about half-a-hour north of Big Bend National Park. I arrived in Marathon near 5 pm and checked into the whimsical Eve’s Garden Bed and Breakfast.
The brightly colored domes and arches of the bed and breakfast create a feeling described as “Through the Looking Glass.” Fragrant roses, bougainvillea and seasonal flowers fill the open-air atrium between rooms. After unloading my suitcase I set out to explore the town of 400 people. Two hours is more than enough time to wander through the local art galleries, gift shops and 27-acre gardens.
The Gage Hotel is the town’s historic hotel. Built by a ranch owner in 1927, the boutique hotel offers a heated pool, spa and full-service restaurant to revive weary travelers. The mission-style adobe building decked out in cow skulls, suede blankets and leather hides will not let you forget you are in Texas.
The cloud build up from storms blowing through ensured I would not be taking photos that evening. Instead I headed to the Gage’s White Buffalo Bar to relax with an El Carranza, the house margarita, before moving in to the 12-Gage Restaurant for dinner. I originally eyed the Blackened Scallops over a Black Eyed Pea Fritter, but thought given the cow-hide covered leather chairs and cowboy decor the Beef Tenderloin Filet with green chili scalloped potatoes would be a more appropriate entree choice.
I woke up early the next day to head into the park. More than 800,000 acres spread out over the high desert terrain of the Chisos Mountains. The park is simply too big to explore in a day. A park ranger told me to start at the Santa Elena Canyon.
The canyon straddles the United States and Mexico border. With 1500-foot canyon walls, it is considered one of the the most dramatically beautiful areas in the park. Many visitors canoe the 20-mile portion of the Rio Grande River that runs through the canyon. While others, like myself, hike down to the river then walk along the canyon walls while occasionally taking a dip in the water.
That night I drove to the nearby ghost town of Terlingua to set up for photos. The evening was cloudy, so after checking Facebook (thank goodness for the Chevy’s Wi-Fi capabilities) I took a nap in the back of the truck. I awoke just before 5 a.m., as the Milky Way began to rise over the horizon. The clouds had dissipated leaving behind a blanket of stars filling the night’s sky. I spent the 90 minutes adjusting my shutter speed, moving the tripod to capture the best angle trying to take as many shots as I could before the sun rose. But for a few minutes I put aside my camera aside, stared into space and thought about how at one point in time people used the stars to guide their travels, navigate their ships, plant their crops and find their place in the world. I tried to take it all in before the stars retreated in sun’s first light. Then I packed up the 2018 Suburban for the long and dusty drive back to Austin.

Neecole Cockerham is a Berkeley-born actress who entered the business as the first African American woman to grace the television ad campaigns of fashion stalwart’s Banana Republic. She continued on and garnered an overwhelming number of commercials for industry giants like Sears and IBM. Ad agencies cast her in more than 120 national commercials to date. She maintains the same humility she had before appearing in Vogue, O Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, and Martha Stewart. Neecole has also appeared on Billboards for Dockers, Kraft & other major print campaigns.
Her theatrical career began early in life as she gathered family and neighborhood children in the downstairs den of her family home and did different characters of sketch comedy skits, complete with wardrobe changes. Shaped as a promising creative being at the Bay Area-based Berkeley Arts Magnet, Neecole furthered her fervor for the theatrical arts at Cal State Northridge where she studied Acting for Television under the consummate professional, Lillian Lehman. She, additionally, studied with Eden Harmon at Estelle Harmon’s acting school in Los Angeles.
She has performed in such shows and films as: for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf, Heroine Helen, Love Thy Neighbor, Significant Others, Do Over, The Life, Jesus’ secretary. However, her decade-long truth, passion project, and stand out performance was her dramatic one-woman show entitled I Am Not My Mother. She actually sold this show, which transcended race and economic status, as well as created a theater experience that was relatable, brought people together and told the story of an unexpected All-American girl.
After the show sold, her father, who she was extremely close to, unexpectedly passed. Tragedy ensued as she was in a near fatal car accident, where she broke her neck but survived. In her words, she was given new life…life with a purpose.
While still recovering from her horrific car accident, Neecole continues to push her limits as an artist, producer, and businesswoman with purpose. Due to her savvy business acumen and keen production skills after her accident in February 2017 she decided to devote her skills to being in service of others as a humble humanitarian for causes such as feeding several hundred women on Skid Row at The Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles at Christmas.
As of late, Neecole produces the annual West Adams Block Party. Her responsibilities include seeking and procuring strategic partners, aligning with the west adams citizens, partners and policymakers, and birthing a music stage with innovative talent and compelling storytellers. The Block party is a new business model that partners Non Profit organizations with the event for direct impact on urban areas.
When she’s not producing mega events or influencing the culture, she is back to her grind acting and has recently signed with Media Artist Group Agency. In 2016 she was in the running for a Pulitzer Prize as an American author for her One Woman Show “I am not my mother.” Additionally, she continues her quest as an artist by writing and producing multiple projects.
