PMR-signed songwriter and producer SG Lewis today shares his new single ‘Aura’. The single is taken from his expansive new project: a three-part album due to roll out over the coming year. ‘Aura’ features rising UK songwriter J Warner and is available to buy and stream now on all partners.

“Everything I do stems from club culture,” says SG Lewis of the idea behind his upcoming three-part project. “Dusk, Dark, Dawn is about taking the intentions of that music – all of those feelings, those experiences I had from the age of 17 to 19 – and placing them outside of the context of a club. Those memories of being a young person and having my mind completely blown.”

Presented over three phases, ‘Dusk, Dark, Dawn’ maps the trajectory of one night out over the course of an album, matching genres and tempos different stages of that night, beginning at sun-down, both inside and outside the club. In the first phase ‘Dusk’, SG Lewis plays with disco, west coast hip-hop and 80’s electro references to start the story. “Disco has always had the association of the start of a night for me. I spent a lot a time as a resident DJ in clubs and disco was always that magnetic genre, always brought people onto the dancefloor.” Lead single ‘Aura’ blends SG’s signature warm, uptempo house with disco inflections. “There’s an undeniable beauty to this part of the night. The apprehension, excitement… ‘Dusk’ is the warm-up for the heavier, darker things to come.”

SG Lewis will tour a four-date run across the UK in April, playing in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and London. Full details follow.

YUNGBLUD

UK recording artist Yungblud, whom NME has said carries himself like “a hyper-addictive mix between rapper Eminem and Johnny Rotten,” releases his self-titled debut EP today via all digital partners. Listen to Yungblud HERE.

With his frenetic take on alt-pop equally inspired by punk, hip-hop, and UK garage, Yungblud uses breakneck flow and tongue-in-cheek attitude to deliver pointed lyrics about everything from gentrification to disenfranchisement to addiction without getting heavy-handed. “I want my music to always have a message, but I don’t want to preach to anybody,” says the Northern England native, whose given name is Dominic Harrison. “This music’s just an outburst of emotion and anger, and everything else going on in my head.”

The Yorkshire-born, London-based Yungblud, produced by Matt Schwartz – known for his work on Massive Attack and Kylie Minogue, and brought to Geffen/Interscope by executive producer Martin Terefe who has worked with Jason Mraz and KT Tunstall.

The EP features “King Charles” and “Tin Pan Boy” (which Wonderland called “a bold and biting call to social justice”) and the current single “I Love You, Will You Marry Me,” which takes its title from a real-life, ill-fated marriage proposal spray-painted at a public housing project in South Yorkshire. Watch the live performance video for “ILYWYMM” HEREand the self-directed video for “Tin Pan Boy” HERE. The EP also includes two brand-new songs, “Anarchist” and “Polygraph Eyes,” a seedy portrait of a Saturday night out that also serves as a delicate commentary on consent and “lad mentality.”

In a recent profile of Yungblud, Wonderland raves about his “captivating songwriting,” while Nylon notes that “Harrison imbues every ounce of raucous energy into songs that defy genre.” NME has called him “utterly thrilling” and says that “what makes Yungblud so intriguing is the versatility in his material already, and how confident he feels about pulling it all off.”

Yungblud, who is on the road in Europe through early February, hits the road for a U.S. spring tour with K.Flay beginning March 12 in Washington, DC. “If you ever get the chance to see him perform live, his passion is evident in the way he throws himself around the stage, spitting ferocious lyrics at the front row and strutting around with the confidence you only have if you were born to do something,” writes Wonderland

Liz Huett

Interscope singer-songwriter Liz Huett releases a rendition of Tom Petty’s   “You Don’t Know How It Feels” today, January 19th, via all digital retailers – http://smarturl.it/YDKHIF“You Don’t Know How It feels” is a tribute to the late musician who Huett credits with inspiring her to make music.   Listen to “You Don’t Know How It feels” HERE.

“Covering a song by your hero is intimidating, to say the least,” says Huett.   “But I was willing to take the risk because both he and this song mean so much to me.  I wanted to honor Tom in my own way because his excellent artistry is a huge part of what inspired me to make music in the first place.”

“You Don’t Know How It Feels” is produced by Steve Solomon and follows the release of “H8U” and “STFU & Hold Me,” two songs that  were released to critical praise with Entertainment Weekly  stating “Huett mixes the melodies and storytelling of country music with the slick production and hooks of pop.”

Huett grew up in Riverside, California, with her ear glued to the radio, listening to everything from pop acts like Tom Petty and Pink, to ’90s country superstars. Not long after she decided to move to Nashville to pursue her music career, she was hired as a backing vocalist for Taylor Swift, with whom she toured for three and a half years. With Swift’s blessing, she decided to come off the road and throw herself into writing her own music. Huett quickly lined up a publishing deal with Warner Chappell, began writing songs, and worked on developing her eclectic pop sound. Now signed to Interscope Records, Huett delivers her songs with a genuine vulnerability that makes her work appealingly relatable. Huett is currently working on her debut album.

Bryan Bailey’s New Book “The Hammer”

For thousands of years, dogs have established themselves in the homes and hearts of humans, coming to be viewed almost exclusively as loyal, friendly, and obedient… which is why it is often so alarming and unexpected to owners when a dog attacks. So what causes dogs to act aggressively, and how can it be avoided? The answers are found in Bryan Bailey’s latest book, The Hammer: Why Dogs Attack Us and How to Prevent It (Best Seller Publishing), available this month wherever books are sold.

In The Hammer: Why Dogs Attack Us and How to Prevent It, Bailey answers the following questions:

• What are the leading causes of canine aggression?

• Why do dogs attack children?

• What are common mistakes made by people that cause dogs to attack them?

• Why do the number of attacks to Americans continue to rise each year?

• What is canine pharmacotherapy and how can it help lessen the number of attacks to Americans?

• Why do 50% of dog bite fatalities occur to the dog’s owner?

• Which breeds are most involved in dog bite fatalities?

• What are four factors that are involved in all dog attacks?

• What can we do to prevent attacks?

• If someone is attacked by a large dog, what should they do to prevent themselves from being seriously injured or killed?

• Why is this a uniquely American problem?

Bailey has spent more than three decades studying and teaching the influence of wolves over modern dogs, shedding light upon the instincts that trigger aggressive behavior – and what can be done to prevent it. Featuring both meticulously researched information and thrilling stories inspired by real-life victims, The Hammer offers the only resource you’ll need to learn to protect yourself from situations in which man’s best friend turns into your worst nightmare.

Kimbal Musk Helps With Big Green Plan

Gordon Food Service, Pathways Foundation, Carole Ilitch, others have collectively given $2 million toward a $5 million effort to ensure a healthier future for kids in Detroit

DETROIT, Jan. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Today, Big Green, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to building a healthier future for kids, is announcing that it will expand to Metro Detroit to build Learning Gardens in 100 local schools giving tens of thousands of kids a beautiful outdoor space and real food literacy programs.

“We believe in the power of good food, and are committed to serving in the communities where we live and work,” said Rich Wolowski, President and CEO of Gordon Food Service. “Kimbal Musk and his team at Big Green are making great strides toward meaningful and measurable change by rallying support in pursuit of a healthier future for our kids in schools. We are incredibly proud to be a part of this ambitious program to help kids in Michigan.”

“Kimbal’s passion is inspiring and I was thrilled after we spoke to learn that his focus would be on Detroit’s children, creating amazing outdoor spaces to play and learn,” said Carole Ilitch. “Those like Kimbal, who help Detroit’s children, ultimately help build a stronger Detroit.”

“Access to real food is one of the key challenges facing our society. Unless we curb our addiction to processed, calorie rich, nutrient poor foods and replace them with real food, we will continue to suffer from obesity-related diseases that kill more people than smoking or gun violence,” said Kimbal Musk, Co-Founder and CEO of Big Green. “Detroit is a resilient city with passionate and dedicated residents who care about the future of their kids and schools. There is inspiring work happening in urban agriculture, community gardening, and school gardens in Detroit; and we are proud to join this collective effort to impact even more kids.”

At the helm of Big Green Detroit is Michigan native and long-time metro Detroit resident, Ken Elkins. With today’s announcement, Big Green is also naming Ken as the Detroit Regional Director. Ken is now hiring a local team of Garden Educators and Project Managers. He’s also partnering with Detroit landscape companies. Big Green Detroit is also now accepting applications from Superintendents, principals, teachers, and parents in Detroit to apply for a Learning Garden in their school.  The organization will notify its first school in March 2018 and begin building Learning Gardens this April.
