Tunji Adeniyi-Jones explores the visual motifs and mythologies from ancient West African art through his high-gloss paintings imbued with lyrical grace and effortless movement. Drawing inspiration from the aesthetic traditions from ancient West African Kingdoms, specifically the deities of the Yoruba (orisha), Adeniyi-Jones channels the spiritual undercurrent significant to these cultures via arrestingly beautiful painted characters who fill the entirety of the canvas, enfolded in saturated transportive hues.

His new Exhibition A print edition, Blue Dancer, is based on the painting of the same name that was recently featured in his solo exhibition at Nicelle Beauchene. A voluptuous figure is suspended in space, time, composition; navigating through a rich azure color field with an acrobatic otherworldly grace reminiscent of the orisha.

Tunji Adeniyi-Jones recently mounted a solo show at Nicelle Beauchene Gallery. Selected group shows include No Foundation (Toronto), Mulherin Gallery (New York), New Release Gallery (New York). and Golbourne Gallery (London). Adeniyi-Jones received his BFA from University of Oxford in 2014 and MFA from Yale University in 2017.

VIZIO Announces Nominees for Top Value Performer Award and Calls on Fans to Vote for Their Favorite Player

Candidates Include Green Bay’s Davante Adams, Baltimore’s Alex Collins, Chicago’s Jordan Howard, New Orleans’ Alvin Kamara, and Minnesota’s Jerick McKinnon

VIZIO, Inc. today announced nominees for its eleventh annual VIZIO Top Value Performer (TVP) award which aims to recognize the professional football player whose on-field performance most exceeds the value of their base salary. Just as this season’s TVP candidates serve as a great value to their respective teams, VIZIO continues to provide value to consumers as one of America’s leading consumer electronics brands. The crop of candidates recognized for their efforts in the 2017 season features some of the top up-and-coming players in the league including Green Bay’s Davante Adams, Baltimore’s Alex Collins, Chicago’s Jordan Howard, New Orleans’ Alvin Kamara, and Minnesota’s Jerick McKinnon. Fans are invited to visit VIZIO.com/TVP to vote for the player they believe is most deserving of TVP honors between now and January 14, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

VIZIO has once again partnered with pro-football analyst and former general manager, Charley Casserly, to expertly determine this year’s most deserving TVP nominees. In addition to Casserly, VIZIO also sought insight from Hall of Fame Running Back Terrell Davis, himself a former late round pick who added tremendous value to a championship winning team. Candidates for this year’s TVP award were evaluated and selected based on their regular season performances, statistics and role in the success of their respective teams. These factors were then measured against their annual base salaries to select the five finalists.

Now in his fourth year in Green Bay, Davante Adams has developed into one of the top weapons in the team’s lethal passing attack. Adams has overcome injuries and uncertainty at the quarterback position to continue producing strong numbers. This season Adams is the most targeted receiver on the team and is on pace to lead Green Bay in both catches and yards for the first time in his career. Given his importance to the offense and his base salary of just $956,373 Adams has forced himself into consideration for the 2017 TVP award.

Alex Collins, Running Back, Baltimore #34 (Twitter @budda03 // #TVPCollins)

In his first season in Baltimore Alex Collins started the season as a backup, but as he continued to take advantage of each opportunity he had on the field he became impossible to keep on the sidelines. Since taking a more featured role, Collins has added a much needed jolt to his team’s running game. Ranking among the league leaders in yards per rush and 20 yard runs, his value has quick surpassed his base salary of 508,235, and made him a candidate that should definitely be considered for the TVP award this year.

Jordan Howard, Running Back, Chicago #24 (Twitter @JHowardx24 // #TVPHoward)

Jordan Howard came into the league as a relatively unknown fifth round pick and in just two short years has made a name for himself as one of the top running backs in the league. Known for his strong running style, this season Howard has served as the workhorse for Chicago’s offense, going over 100-yards on the ground multiple times to help his team secure victory. Howard’s performance has allowed him to consistently rank among the league leaders in rushing yards throughout the season and with a base salary of just $540,000, he is an ideal candidate for the TVP award.

Alvin Kamara, Running Back, New Orleans #41 (Twitter @a_kamara6 // #TVPKamara)

In his rookie season, Alvin Kamara has emerged as one of the league’s top dual threat players. His sensational speed and ability in the passing game have quickly made Kamara an integral part of one of the league’s top offenses. With multiple games over 100 total yards already on his resume, Kamara is currently on pace to go over 1000 total yards this season. Kamara has energized a resurgent New Orleans team and as rookie third round pick with a base salary of $465,000, he is a viable contender to win this year’s TVP award.

Jerick McKinnon, Running Back, Minnesota #31 (Twitter @jetmckinnon1 // #TVPMcKinnon)

For some teams, the loss of a starting running back can be the kiss of death, but this has not been the case in Minnesota due to the strong performance of Jerick McKinnon. Since being thrust into a more featured role, McKinnon’s abilities both as running back and receiver have made him a top threat in his team’s offense. Now in his fourth season, McKinnon is on pace to set new career highs in yards and touchdowns this season. His performance has been a key ingredient to his team’s success and with a base salary of only $700,000, McKinnon is a TVP candidate worth considering.

Previous TVP winners include running back Spencer Ware (2016), wide receiver Allen Robinson (2015), wide receiver Kenny Stills (2014), quarterback Russell Wilson (2012 and 2013), wide receiver Victor Cruz (2011), wide receiver Stevie Johnson (2010), wide receiver Steve Smith (2009), quarterback Matt Cassel (2008) and quarterback David Garrard (2007).

‘For once, this past New Year’s Eve wasn’t a blur (no wordplay intended). Taking space at Downtown LA’s historic ticket concourse inside Union Station.’

The best means to enter this venue is through the VIP red carpet so be prepared to get the celebrity treatment for around $200 per person which includes open bar (GA tix are avail as well). After a no nonsense check-in, you’ll be whisked off to the step and repeat for a quick photo. Then, your legs will begin to wiggle your way over to the elevated DJ booth outside where it was like a whimsical LED rainbow-like garden orchestrated by top 40 music. 

Everyone was dolled up in roaring twenties attire and the atmosphere made it feel like we all went back in time. Well, maybe back into 4 bar lines of premium liquor, which caused many of us to become double-fisted (and inebriated but we took the Expo Train line from Downtown Culver City for a $1.75 and an Lyft back for less than $50 during peak hours). 

Our VIP bracelets allowed us access to the actual concourse where the mega screens, top notch concert sound and lighting system were housed. A 60 foot ball drop relaxed above our heads alongside of metallic confetti until the clock struck midnight. Not to mention crow-like characters roamed through the crowd on stilts while a saxophone player jammed to EDM beats.

We proceeded on to another outdoor patio where we enjoyed live burlesque shows where gorgeous antiqued chandeliers hung in a red tent.

From eyewitness accounts of historic moments to items that are truly macabre, ROADSHOW appraisers, guests and locations make this a ground-breaking new season!

 

“I was amazed by the number of never-before-seen items discovered on this year’s tour,” says executive producer Marsha Bemko. “That mix of new treasures and sizzling stories along with our first event filmed at a Gilded Age mansion in Newport, RI fills this season with can’t-miss episodes!”

  • In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, a head in a box! A plaster head, that is, of a convicted bank robber who fashioned the prop to aid in his attempted prison escape. Harrisburg episodes will air January 8, 15 and 22.
  • In New Orleans, Louisiana, a charming study of Andy Warhol painted by his friend, artist Jamie Wyeth, capturing Warhol with his beloved dog Archie. New Orleans episodes will air January 29, February 5 and 12.
  • In St. Louis, Missouri, a vintage Ozark Airlines poster, ca. 1960, featuring aircraft of the era and company logo illustrated through mid-century modern design. St. Louis episodes will air February 19 and 26, and March 26.
  • In Portland, Oregon, an eyewitness account of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln captured in a letter written by the guest’s grandfather, who was at Ford’s theater that fateful night and captured a most remarkable description of John Wilkes Booth. Portland episodes will air April 2, 9 and 16.
  • In Green Bay, Wisconsin, a rare Cadillac “rain lamp,” ca. 1968, used to promote the famous auto brand through modern design and a unique mineral-oil-on-wire feature that simulated rain. Green Bay episodes will air April 23 and 30, and May 7.
  • In Newport, Rhode Island, a one-of-a-kind 1939 Royal typewriter, plated by Cartier in 24k gold and presented to the guest’s grandfather, who was vice president of sales at Royal during the period. Newport episodes will air May 14 and 21.

Hyundai Motor will showcase a trio of new technologies at CES 2018 from January 9-12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, all focused on connecting future technology with evolving mobility challenges. Hyundai’s next-generation hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric vehicle equipped with new Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technologies will be featured and its new name revealed.

The new fuel cell EV is the newest edition to the Hyundai’s eco-vehicle portfolio and it will help to fulfill Hyundai’s vision to offer clean mobility to the world. In addition, Hyundai will connect its progress on hydrogen-powered mobility to hydrogen-powered applications in the home via a section of the booth dedicated to the Hydrogen Life Vision.

Rounding out Hyundai’s future technology demonstrations will be a reimagined view from the driver’s perspective inside the Intelligent Personal Cockpit, featuring artificial-intelligence-enhanced voice recognition and vital sign-based wellness care, all from the comfort of the driver’s seat. I think from you know your values, you can create Instagram into a business that can hopefully lead to becoming full-time.


How to know what is my field 


I think that ties a lot back to knowing yourself. Know your passions, your hobbies, your line of work, and know what it is that YOU are good at. If you are an amazing photographer, show that. If you are good at cooking, show that!  I think you just have to figure out what is special about you that you would want the world to admire and know you for.


How to get followers


I think gaining a following is different per individual. But here are a few things I think are a good place to start:


1. Use the right hashtags. Hashtags are a great way to introduce your platform to people who have not seen your account in the first place. It increases the number of eyes on your page.


2. Create a good visual. I think the photographs would be high-level quality, portray a particular emotion. I think those of main reasons why we are compelled to follow certain people in the first place.


3. Post at a particular time. From doing this for a period of time, I have a home to realize what time of day my audience is most engaged and most likely to like my photo.


How to influence others


Here are my top 4 values I kept with me in hopes of becoming influential: 


1. Be very honest about your emotions and own them. 


2. Show you are glad for others.


3. Be strong for others.


4. Choose to be happy.


How to maintain 


I think it certainly is important to know and connect with your audience. Know who they are, what they like. Try to understand what is the core reason why they are following you in the first place. I think about that before every outfit, every partnership I make, every shoot I have. Not only do I want the image to satisfy me, I want to satisfy everyone who is inspired by me.

Tegan is starting 2018 on a high note. During her history-making year she also made waves across the Internet. In 2017 alone, she garnered 100 million video views, had 270 million social engagements and gained two million social followers.
