Al Capone and John Dillinger were two of America’s most wanted men. One was the king pin of bootlegging during the Prohibition era, the other was a master of robbing banks for a living. Both of them would often find themselves in precarious situations, and had serious love affairs with money, and both needed to be very quick to leave a scene – no coicidence then that both of them drove Cadillacs.
We’ve been familiar with the Cadillac brand as a luxury statue in the automobile industry, but the V-series definitely wins the highest award for the 2018 “getaway special.” 2018 ATS-V Sedan RWD is the most innovative car of its kind and has a plethora of high-tech automotive features that would have made both Mr. Capone and Mr. Dillinger extremely proud.
With innovation in mind, the ATS-V offers a built-in Bose Premium Surround Sound audio system along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto making it a music lover’s dream. It also offers a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot to keep you and your friends connected on your adventurous excursions.
Back when outlaws were robbing banks and bootlegging liquor, they knew the recipe for escape would require them to make the engine more powerful and reliable than before. While the standard ATS comes with a 2.0 liter 270 hp engine, we can bet that Mr. Capone or Dillinger would be driving this V-series edition we have here, with the upgraded 3.6L Twin Turbo V6 engine boasting a SAE-certified 464 horsepower mated to a six-speed manual Tremec TR-6060 transmission – the most advanced swiss army knife of transmissions.
And when you’d be pressing away from the boys in blue, another handy feature comes to play in the aerodynamic department. The ATS-V comes standard with a vented lighter weight carbon fiber hood and spoiler. The former aiding in dissapating hot air inside the engine bay area resulting in decrease front end lift over the front two wheels – a sensation you’d not be happy to feel on the ATS-V’s 189 mph speed limiter!
The ATS-V driving experience makes the foundation of this car stronger and more durable. ATS-V has a state-of-the-art microchip embedded inside the car that can store your laps and racecar stats onto the windshield. With an exceptional track record under the V-Series’ belt, the automobile pioneer has built their ATS-V sedan smooth yet stylish. This sports car also incorporated a strong steering system to help drivers maintain precision and control while on the road and track. The exterior panels on the ATS-V sedan is one of a kind. Each panel is engineered to support the car’s ability to garner the highest driving experience while keeping a low drag coefficient, elegant styling, and producing maximum aerodynamic downforce. This model has a wide body and a low height making it more unique and sharp for an accurate yet dynamic driving experience. The interior design goes hand in hand with the sports-like appeal. The interior is designed to make any speed enthusiast’s jaw drop. It includes a 16-way-adjustable RECARO performance seats trimmed with Mulan leather and suede microfiber inserts giving the interior a lavish feel, but more importantly giving the driver essential input and feedback from what’s happening on the road. When comparing this high-performance vehicle to its competitor the BMW 2018 3 series there truly is no comparison… period. The ATS-V has a lower MSRP price from $50,770 compared to the BMW 3 Series’ MSRP sticker price of $56,800 and the ATS has more features from its aerodynamic exterior to its innovative interior.
Last but not least this car is of course safe and environmentally friendly. The NHTSA gave the ATS-V a 5-star safety rating. This is the highest stars a car can receive. Along with its top safety rating, it’s annual fuel cost is $2,100; this is less than half of what a person pays for fuel per year. The vehicle can go 100 miles with 5 gallons of gas making it the top sports eco-friendly luxury vehicle to date.
So when you need to look like a million bucks while packing a mean punch just as Mr.Capone and Dillinger did, you know the Caddy has got you covered.
