Upscale Music Group/Interscope Records newcomer Jaira Burns releases a visual for her latest track “High Rollin.” The video, directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen, is a compilation of slice-of-life visuals that follow Jaira and her friends as they kick back and smoke up. The singer-songwriter has created a genre of her own that she describes as “dark pop, gypsy urban.” She has cultivated sounds that are magically reminiscent of her upbringing, blending rural atmospheres with urban textures and tones. Her breakout single “Ugly” was handpicked by Olivier Rousteing as the musical backdrop for the Beats/Balmain ad campaign which featured Kylie Jenner.

“High Rollin” is now available at all digital retailers. Jaira will be supporting Australian-born musician Wafia on tour which kicks off January 22, 2018. Tickets for the tour can be purchased at www.jairaburns.com.

Do Actors Earn Their Paychecks?

Are Hollywood Actors Worth Those Mega-Pay Checks?

The salaries of Hollywood A-listers has long been a source of gossip and debate among film fans. But are they actually worth it? While some say not, the film studios are actually getting a pretty good return for the cash investment.

And now RouletteOnline have produced a useful infographic that puts everything into perspective when it comes to your favourite top earners.

According to Roulette Online, the key is how many dollars a film studio gets back for each one they spend on an actor or actress. While personal net worth can run into the hundreds of millions for some stars, the money many of our top bards earn the studios can be measured in the hundreds of billions.

• Near the foot of the list is Charlize Theron who has a personal net worth of about $130 million. While she’s laughing all the way to the bank, the return for the studios is only $1.19 for every dollar invested. You might think this low, but you have to put it into perspective – there’s still a healthy profit to be made with the actress helping to bring in some $1.5 billion during her career.

• You’d but right in thinking that ageing action king Tom Cruise would fare better but he’s still only bringing in $4.57 per studio dollar. His top grossing film was War of the Worlds and over 38 outings, the actor has managed to bring in well over $3.5 billion for the studios.

• Cruise might be a little miffed that he’s beaten on the list by both Adam Sandler, who earns the studio $7.25 per dollar, and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson who comes in at $8.48.

• Perennial everyman, Mark Wahlberg, with 39 films under his belt across various genres including comedy and action, breaks the double figure barrier and comes in at just over $12 per dollar spent. You won’t be surprised to learn that his top grossing film was Transformers: Age of Extinction even if Last Knight was a bit of a setback.

• The girls are quietly accumulating for the film studios with Jennifer Anniston, Melissa McCarthy and Julia Roberts all delivering excellent returns. Top female actor on the list is Cate Blanchett who pulls in a very healthy $66 per dollar spent for the studio and lies in second place.

• There’s something of a battle going on between the superheroes, as you might expect. Chris Hemsworth is the worst performing but still brings in a healthy $32.25, while Robert Downey Jr, who has a net worth of $260 million, mostly from donning the Iron Man suit, delivers a return of $47.10.

• Top of the list, however, is the acting royalty that is Samuel L Jackson. He earns the studios a staggering $83.79 for every dollar invested. The star of Pulp Fiction and the Avengers films has had 73 outings in his career, is worth over $200m, and has earned those film execs a massive $5 billion or more.

Next time you wonder why the studios pay lead actors so much – remember the boost they get in revenue from signing a top star. That can often mean the difference between success and failure for a movie. Check out the full list from RouletteOnline here.

Trippie Redd & Travis Scott x Dark Knight Dummo

Trippie Redd and Travis Scott Connect on

“Dark Knight Dummo”

The Trippie Redd takeover continues, and Travis is the latest to lend support.

LISTEN HERE!

For Trippie Redd, it’s only a matter of time. The 18-year-old Ohio artist’s star potential was clear from the start, and now he’s got the momentum. “Love Scars” has over 20 million plays on YouTube alone, his A Love Letter To You 2 project and track with DRAM are still on the rise.

But first, Trippie drops off “Dark Knight Dummo” with Travis Scott. Both artists have a knack for sweeping melodies, unforgettable hooks, and dark, dramatic backdrops-which is exactly what they deliver here-and the flaming car on the single’s cover is a pretty good indication of what to expect. If you’re still waiting on Astroworld, hold yourself over with “Dark Knight Dummo” below and stay tuned for more of the Trippie Redd takeover.

KAILEE MORGUE PREMIERES NEW TRACK & LYRIC VIDEO FOR “DISCOVERY”

“DISCOVERY” SELECTED BY ZANE LOWE AS A “WORLD FIRST” RECORD ON APPLE MUSIC’S BEATS 1

Today, Kailee Morgue uncovers her new single “Discovery, which was selected by Zane Lowe and played as a “World First” record on Apple Music Beats 1. Check out “Discovery” Here!
“Discovery” hints at the scope of Morgue’s vast creativity and musical sorcery. Over delicately chilling production, she delivers breathy verses and a lovelorn refrain that immediately captivates. In addition, to celebrate the release of “Discovery” Morgue has created an intricate lyric video for the track. See the full lyric video Here!
On the track Morgue stated: “Writing ‘Discovery’ definitely brought out a vulnerable side of myself. The song really emphasizes a feeling of abandonment and loneliness but in a hopeful way. It’s a mixture of this happy and sad feeling that I hope my fans can relate to as all emotions can be complicated.”
“Discovery” arrives hot on the heels of the viral hit “Medusa,” which quietly transformed the artist into a palpable phenomenon. Upon release, it launched to #2 on Hype Machine, was premiered by Fader and received “Best Track of the Week” by The New York Times, Line of Best Fit, MTV, Coup de Main and reached #2 on the Canadian viral chart on Spotify.
The 19-year-old songstress first teased out the track in 2016 with a brief Twitter video, and it ignited a viral reaction spawning 100,000 “likes” overnight. Over an airy minimalistic soundscape, Morgue exorcises a, hypnotic, and heartfelt melody with haunting and powerful lyrics.
“Medusa,” which originally premiered on Fader, was produced by CJ Baran [Melanie Martinez, Panic! At the Disco, Carly Rae Jepsen] is the first official release by Morgue but be on the lookout for more news soon. In addition, she recently posted a cover of label mate Post Malone’s smash hit “rockstar” ft. 21 Savage. The track is a follow up to a previous cover she posted of “Feeling Whitney” back in January. Check out the “rockstar” cover here!
Tattooed, green haired, and anime-obsessed 19-year-old Phoenix-born and Los Angeles-based gothic pop siren Kailee Morgue casts a sonic spell with her music. A self-described “introvert” and the second oldest of six kids, she found solace in the sounds of fellow sonic sorceresses such as Stevie Nicks and Gwen Stefani as well as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and more. By the age of ten, she picked up her first guitar, began quietly penning music, and eventually started posting tracks on Soundcloud. Between a gig at Jack in the Box, an 18-year-old Kailee found the beat for “Medusa” on YouTube back in 2016 and cooked up the single. As “Medusa” became an underground phenomenon, she inked a deal with Republic Records in the summer of 2017.

“The 19-year-old singer has a hit on her hands…spine-tingling” – Fader

“…sounds like bliss”- New York Times

“Medsua’ is clean pop with a dark edge, a catchy song”- Pigeons & Planes
“A gorgeous pop song with dark undertones… fans of Billie Eilish or Purity Ring should appreciate…’Medusa’ doesn’t disappoint.” – Pigeons & Planes

“Best new music!”- Line of Best Fit

“a modern-sounding, chill bit of indie and electronic-pop…it does set the groundwork for a prosperous career.” – Hilly Dilly
