The five tracks released today as part of ii (Side A) marks the bold decision to split the album into two halves and is Aquilo’s unique way of staying in tune with the streaming age. “We’re doing things differently,” explains Ben. “Streaming has changed how we all consume music. We still love the album format, but it needs updating. Releasing an album in two halves is our way of doing that.”

Hailing from the UK Lake District, Tom Higham and Ben Fletcher first introduced themselves as Aquilo in 2014 with their larger than life cinematic sound, and have since released three EPs and debut album Silhouettes; produced by highly regarded Icelandic producer Ólafur Arnalds and the ever brilliant SOHN. Los Angeles, CA (November 17, 2017) — Multitalented actor, model and musician, Jaden Smith released his debut album SYRE today via the artist’s own MSFTS Music/Roc Nation label through their Interscope Records partnership. A brand-new video for the song “Icon” premiered exclusively on Complex, you can check out the self-directed video HERE

This past summer, Smith teased the forthcoming project by putting out back-to-back singles: “Watch Me,” a rock-tinged rap ditty, which showcases the 18-year-old’s growing agility as a master rhymesayer and “Batman,” a tribute to the late Adam West that resurrects Smith’s superhero alter ego, first introduced at the West-Kardashian nuptials three-and-a-half years ago.

Both songs and their accompanying music videos have been well received with nearly ten million collective views to date on VEVO alone. An all around performance artist, Smith will simultaneously release a complete visual work to supplement the project, which he says has been three years in the making. The artist leaked a third song, “Falcon” featuring Raury, earlier this week.

“This album is a love letter to the world,” says Jaden.

A follow-up to his mixtapes, The Cool Café and Cool Tapes Vol. 2SYRE is Smith’s first full-length made available to a wide audience. Rock star Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy recently called Jaden Smith “the future of music” and tapped the eclectic, young rapper to open up for his band on a string of dates during their current Mania tour.

Smith also made a memorable appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Monday. SYRE is now available worldwide on all digital platforms.

Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami, two of the longest running and most progressive contemporary art shows for the fine art industry during Miami Art Week, announces this year’s exciting five-day line-up of interactive programming, taking place December 6—10, 2017.

 

Each year, Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami are established as sister art shows, occupying a purpose-built exhibition space at 1700 NE 2nd Avenue in Miami’s Arts and Entertainment District. Over the last decade, both shows have grown to become the ultimate destination for the fine art industry professional and contemporary art enthusiast who collectively seek a more accessible experience with exhibits showcasing the world’s most progressive portfolios by some of today’s elite artists, galleries and emerging talents. The shows attract more than 40,000 attendees each year and represent more than 650 artists and galleries worldwide.

 

The annual Opening Night Preview Party, taking place on Wednesday, December 6th, marks commencement of the five-day global panorama in contemporary art, culture and entertainment. This year’s highly prestigious invitation-only event is in association with Cervera Real Estate, and will be hosted by Veronica Cervera Goeseke and Alicia Cervera Jr., who will be officially opening the shows with the CEO of Redwood Media Group, Eric Smith, as part of a ribbon cutting ceremony. Hundreds of the world’s most affluent art dealers, collectors, artists, gallery owners, curators and art enthusiasts attend the opening night extravaganza for Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami on an annual basis, and this year is no exception.

 

On arrival at the main entrance of Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami, attendees are invited to step onto the red carpet and into the spotlight to create a memory with their own picture in front of the shows’ backdrop. Visitors will experience a 2017 featured Art Lab by Sculptor, James West of Studio Wild West, who celebrates the natural world with “Our Path,” a monumental, contemporary outdoor sculpture delicately laced with intricate laser carvings—each carving interacting with the environment through the use of positive and negative space.

 

A second featured Art Lab installation upon entering the shows will astound this year’s avid art enthusiast, with an unforgettable display of nature’s most wondrous creations. Curated by Noor Blazekovic of Irreversible Projects, with the support of Jane Hart of Lemon Sky Projects and Neil Gold of Galleria Farms, “A Walk in the Clouds” is an elaborate sensory experience, featuring approximately 2000 freshly cut flowers of multiple colors that will form a circular arena-like structure – each suspended from the ceiling, allowing guests to be completely immersed in blossoming beauty. With an empowering message of how we are all connected to one another through our body, mind, and spirit, A Walk In the Clouds hopes to make the world feel, spur thinking, evoke engagement and take action.

 

Spectrum Miami, a curated, contemporary art show, now in its seventh year, presents special programs and site-specific exhibitions that showcase the thriving art landscape of the city, informed by the 2017 curatorial theme [FUSION]: the merging of artistic mediums, of exhibitors and collectors, and of the countless galleries and artists who come together to showcase their work. New Brew from Peru

7-Eleven® Sustains Push for Single Origin, Rainforest Alliance Certified™ Coffees

For its next exclusive single-origin coffee, 7-Eleven, Inc. headed south to the Cajamarca region of Peru. As with its other single-origin, sustainably sourced coffee, the new brew from Peru is Rainforest Alliance Certified.

Made with 100 percent Arabica beans, the newest 7-Eleven® single-origin coffee has bright citrus notes complimented by vanilla, cinnamon and berry undertones. To ensure the best quality and freshest taste, the Cajamarca region was selected, in part, for its prime harvest season between August and October. The hand-picked beans were grown in the region high in the Andes Mountains of Peru, known for its small family farms and artisanal farming methods. After harvesting, the fresh crop was authentically roasted to a medium level for a smooth rich taste. Peru is the eighth largest coffee producer in the world and one of the leading growers of certified coffees.

“Todays’ coffee-drinkers are more sophisticated and, in addition to wanting a great-tasting cup of coffee, many also are looking for something extra,” said Raj Kapoor, 7-Eleven senior vice president of fresh food and proprietary beverages. “Millennials, in particular, want coffee crops that are sustainably grown, sourced directly from small farms, and made from single-origin beans rather than blends. Peruvian coffee is one that fits all those criteria, and Cajamarca is considered one of the best coffee-growing regions in the country.”

Many of Peru’s coffee farms are in the foothills of the Andes with processing mills on the Pacific side of the range. The Cajamarca region is in the highlands of the Andes in the northern portion of the country.

This is the third limited-time, single-origin coffee offered at 7-Eleven, the fourth largest coffee retailer in the U.S. The others were from Matagalpa, Nicaragua, and Chiapas, Mexico. Available year-round, the retailer’s popular 100 percent Colombian coffee is now made with Rainforest Alliance Certified single-origin beans.

The Rainforest Alliance is an international nonprofit organization that seeks to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods. Carrying the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal with the little green frog means the 100 percent Arabica beans for 7-Eleven stores’ new coffee are sourced from coffee-growers whose farms are required to meet strict standards designed to protect the environment, conserve wildlife and promote the well-being of local communities.

7-Eleven is working with Conservation International (CI) to set measurable corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals to reduce its environmental footprint. 7-Eleven’s CSR mission has three focus areas – planet, products and people. The retailer is a member of CI’s Business and Sustainability Council, a forum for corporate leaders taking positive environmental actions in their businesses, to explore mutually beneficial ways to further reduce its environmental impact.

Grammy-nominated French DJ and producer DJ Snake releases the video for his single “A Different Way” featuring Lauv today on Vevo. Watch it HERE.

The heart-warming, uplifting video was directed by award-winning director Colin Tilley (DJ Khaled & Rihanna’s “Wild Thoughts,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright,” Future’s “Mask Off”), who also shot DJ Snake’s video for his single “Middle.” Tilley’s involvement in the video brings the journey of “A Different Way” full circle, as the director also captured DJ Snake’s journey in September through the streets of Paris that culminated in a historic performance atop the Arc De Triomphe where he originally premiered the track.
