Why Cat Videos Live!? Quite simply, cat videos rule the Internet. Back in 2014, Tubular Insights estimated that over 2 million cat videos had been uploaded to YouTube and racked up 25 billion views (source: http://tubularinsights.com/2-million-cat-videos-youtube <http://tubularinsights.com/2-million-cat-videos-youtube>). Celebrity cats and their owners have gone way beyond a cottage industry to bona fide sensations. In fiscal 2015, Americans spent $62 billion dollars were spent by Americans on their pets, pet heath care, grooming and pet related consumer products. Touring productions of cat videos have legs–or tiny cat feet as it were. Previous cat video showcases have played all over the world and Knitting Factory Presents sold-out events from the Showbox in Seattle to the Warsaw in Brooklyn to the Federal in Long Beach to the Echoplex in Los Angeles. The world LOVES cat videos.

“It’s such a huge audience that we really had to put this multi-media event together to meet the pent-up demand to take this social phenomenon to a higher professional level,” explains Kitting Factory Presents president Mark Dinerstein.

Dorris adds, “We’re delighted to make the concept of CatVideos.com into a live touring experience for the family–cat [and dog] lovers alike. Cat Videos Live! is a rollicking roadshow combining community, comedy and technology. It’s a showcase of local, national and international filmmaking talent. It’s an amazing outpouring of both creative output and shared experiences and interests.”

Cat Videos Live! puts its arms around the entire feline phenomenon. While the two-hour program has national common elements, each city’s performance and presentation will be unique, with locally programmed media and celebrity guest hosts and videos. The show has two national and multiple local charitable beneficiaries. National partners include Panthera (www.panthera.org), which works to protect big cats, and Friends for Life (www.friends4life.org <http://www.friends4life.org/>), which leads no-kill shelter and adoption care efforts in the Southwest. “I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Friends for Life founder, philanthropist, and investor Don Sanders, whose work saving animals is an inspiration and is a valuable part of the awareness we hope to bring with Cat Videos Live!,” Dorris says. Each tour city will also have its own local rescue and/or adoption partners.

Finally, CatVideos.com is launching an app to tie together the touring experience and web site for cat fans and supporters. iOS and Android mobile device users will be able to upload their own videos, share others, get catmojis, buy tickets, visit partner sites, support sponsors and charities.

Tangled Hair No More – Revlon

Bedhead is in right now, but it takes a lot of effort to look so effortlessly fabulous. This style tends to tangle strands extremely easily. So just how do you detangle this look at the end of the day without damage? You end up taking a brush to your locks and pulling and pulling ‘til you find your hair is coming out with every stroke. Breakage is so common when trying to brush out tangles, but cue the Revlon Steel Pin Brush. This new favorite accessory will do the detangling without all the damage of a standard brush.

(Target.com, $5.99): Through thick and thin, the Revlon Essentials Steel Pin Brush makes its way through even the most difficult hair. Perfect for detangling thick and curly hair, the steel pin design penetrates hair faster and stronger while being gentle enough to use on extensions and weaves. Stubborn hair has met its match! It’s all glossy, smooth hair from here.

Q × A

How do you feel to be considered a fashion icon?

  • The reality is that I conquered every single thing by hard work. There is no better feeling than being recognized, seen, and heard. It means that my message is getting out there louder and louder. Fashion to me is a way to wrap your soul. I love that women and men can look at me to be inspired by who I am, inside and out. I believe this is what makes you a fashion icon.

When you were younger, was there a pivitol moment where you knew fashion would be your life calling?

    • When I was 16 and was told that I had the body of a model I remember having butterflies in my stomach. I looked at myself in the mirror and said: “One day you will be a top model”. That was my childhood dream. A pure dream that simply means to strive to be the best of the best. Being recognized today as such gives me the strength to keep on working. The beautiful part is that I get inspired everyday by my mentor, Daisaku Ikeda, knowing for a fact that there is no limit to going beyond yourself. I am looking forward to see myself in 5 years. The “no” are there, many times they are stronger than the yes. When they hit me however I know I need to surpass them.

Lastly, who or what influences your current style now? And who are your current favorite brands?

      • Instagram is my beyond imagination source of inspiration. We dictate trends. Things that we wore months before make it onto the catwalks the following season. This happens all the time with many amazing influencers. Brands are watching us now to pick up inspiration: this is the concrete signal that social media has changed an industry. I am an Italian soul and body, I adore Gucci and Fendi. I take joy in discovering new international brands and selecting the best out of them such as Malika Rajani, Femme Sans Peur, Michelle Nicole. A big shout out to stylist Ninorta Malke for making me discover Dreams On Air, a New York City showroom with amazing innovative labels. As a fashion Influencer discovering the new, seeing their vision, mission, and love gives me so much motivation. Keep on being YOU.

Spacejam Bo x “Who Really Love Me?”

LVRN’s newest signee Spacejam Bo releases his new single “Who Really Love Me?” The 20-year-old Alabama native delivers an authentic narrative about traumatic past experiences. Bo hopes to provide fans with a sense of solace through music. “I want to be the person people go listen to when they’re going through life,” he says. “Everybody is too cool now. Rapping about diamonds and smoking drugs. They’re taking the culture somewhere it’s not supposed to be at. Rap should inspire people to be great. I came from nothing. I’m gonna tell them a story and lead them to be great, too.”

Les Twins “Dress to be Free”

This Halloween, Bacardí challenges partygoers to DRESS TO BE FREE with a new campaign aimed at liberating our truest selves in honor of the holiday that celebrates self-expression. BACARDÍ is honing in on the spirit of Halloween as the intersection of a world of people who dress up to be themselves every day and those who liberate themselves through creative expression. This year, BACARDÍ celebrates these individuals, and are excited to share exclusive content with the Parisian dance duo – Les Twins – brothers who at their core represent what Dress to Be Free is all about: authenticity, truth, and celebration.

Identical twin brothers, choreographers and models, Laurent and Larry Nicolas Bourgeois, are recognized internationally for their talents in new style hip-hop dancing, and have been featured with various music artists including Beyoncé, Meghan Trainor, and Missy Elliott.  Just as BACARDÍ challenges convention and champions liberation, Les Twins are transforming dance culture using movement and their style to transcend the expected, redefine and disrupt a category.  They are moving past the notions of what constitutes “real hip-hop,” integrating the happenings of everyday life to celebrate their true selves.

BACARDÍ, Les Twins, and Cardi B will be attending a #DRESSTOBEFREE Halloween Bash on October 30th at House of Yes in New York City.

Check out the short video to learn more about how you can DRESS TO BE FREE
